An Unforgettable Finish- Oct 2011 TR **Happily Ever After (Completed 5/3)

I love Tower of Terror! So glad you got to ride it.

Sorry your cupcake wasn't that great. I would have been very disappointed after reading all of the wonderful things people say about those cupcakes.

Sorry y'all had some disappointing food selections. Seems like that can happen a lot at DHS!

Ahhh I still have yet to go to Starring Rolls! Those cupcakes look SO good... everything looks SO good hahaha.

I don't blame you for not wanting to leave Disney to get food. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it though! I don't think that stuff even looks very good... that's a shame. The mousse looks GREAT though... yum.

Excited to hear about what yall did at Epcot! :thumbsup2

I didn't know they had cupcakes at starring rolls. I'll have to try them in couple months when I go down to florida...being huge cupcake person I know I'll have to try them.

I've been known to have cupcakes from Starring rolls for breakfast. I have always been disappointed with the QS food at Hollywood Studios, though, other than the stuff from Starring Rolls.

I think I could eat a Starring Rolls cupcake for breakfast, too. I've never done it, but it sounds good. It's hard to find good QS at DHS. If Starring Rolls had indoor seating, we'd probably go there more often.

I had the peanut butter cupcake at Starring Rolls and it was good, but very rich. I don't think I could ever eat one on my own.

I've never been impressed with DHS's quick service food. I feel like it's something they should work towards improving in the future.

Maybe we'll try the peanut butter cupcake next time. It sounds pretty good. I agree, the cupcakes are best when shared.

I wish they would work on improving the quick service food at DHS. It's hard to find something good. I always think, too, that Epcot is just over there and would be so much better.

Me, too! I could ride Tower of Terror again and again. I hope Carter and Landon like it someday.

I think that's the problem- I had heard the red velvet cupcake talked up so much that it couldn't possibly live up to expectations.

Sorry y'all had some disappointing food selections. Seems like that can happen a lot at DHS!

It's a very common tale, isn't it? I think it'll be awhile before we go back to the ABC Commissary.

I hope you make it to Starring Rolls sometime- those cupcakes are worth the trip.

I always like to squeeze in as much Disney as possible, so it seems kind of counter productive to get lunch somewhere else. ABC Commissary really wasn't that good, but at least we were at Disney still. The mousse was really good, so that was something.

I was looking forward to an afternoon at Epcot.

I love the cupcakes at Starring Rolls! The red velvet cheesecake cupcake wasn't my favorite, but I'd sure like one right now. Getting a Starring Rolls cupcake is always one of my main goals when we go to DHS.

Loving your report so far! We are hopfully going this OCT and can't wait. Your boys are so cute!

That's a shame that the food at ABC was a bit of a disappointment. Can't say that it is a big surprise though... DHS really needs some work in the food offerings. You should have just talked them into eating lunch at Starring rolls and tried some other flavors of cupcakes. :lmao:

Great update, Kate.

We love Starring Rolls for their sandwiches; we've not tried a cupcake...we'll hav eto put that on the list.

I'm sorry your lunch at ABC Commissary was not good. We ate there once and thought it the worse of all the counter services at the Studios. Unfortunatley, they are all bad. We now stick with Starring Rolls or go to the Writer's Shop.

I started reading from the beginning again since I had no idea where I left off. So sorry if my messages seem to be duplicates of what I already said.

I love Pecos Bill mostly for the atmosphere. I like to sit in the darker dining area. It helps us relax a bit.

I love people watching on Main Street USA. I feel so relaxed and happy.

So I'm guessing I'm not going to stay late at night if I go to the 45th or 50th hehe

You guys are lucky to have had a sunny day in DHS. It seems to always end up pouring when I go hehe

I agree with you, the ABC commissary is average. But I love to go inside at least to see the movie or tv memorabilia.

Thanks! We had a great time in October. It's one of my favorite trips we've taken, so I hope you all have a fun time, too.

I can't believe I didn't think of having everyone stay right there and eat all the cupcakes for lunch! It was so obvious! Next time we're in DHS, we can skip all real food and go straight for cupcakes at every meal. And maybe some chocolate mousse or a carrot cake cookie, if we want some variety.:rotfl:

Thanks!

I like the Starring Rolls sandwiches, too, but I really love the cupcakes. Even though the red velvet cheesecake cupcake wasn't as good as I'd expected, it was still a magnificent cupcake. Carter and Landon certainly liked it.

I still think the ABC Commissary has very comfortable seats, but I guess that's about the most you could say for it. We always prefer to eat at places with indoor seating, which is why we usually stick with Starring Rolls for cupcakes.

I'm going to have to get caught up on everyone's trip reports before I lose track of where I was, too. Starting over would be tough.

Pecos Bill's does have cool atmosphere, especially on days when it's not too busy. We always sit in the very back room, which seems pretty relaxing.

I love people watching on Main Street USA. I feel so relaxed and happy.

I could sit on Main Street for hours. The cheerful music and the beautiful buildings and the excited people and just knowing I'm there makes me happy.

Rainforest cafe looks good. We have not tried that yet.

I love Rainforest Cafe. I've always loved the atmosphere in there. It's a fun place to eat, and the food's pretty good, too.

I wouldn't recommend getting there in the morning, either...

You guys are lucky to have had a sunny day in DHS. It seems to always end up pouring when I go hehe

We've had unusually good sunshine like at Disney lately. We've been tempting fate by not bringing ponchos for years before this October trip.

I agree with you, the ABC commissary is average. But I love to go inside at least to see the movie or tv memorabilia.

I like the big windows in the ABC Commissary. It's fun to look outside and people watch while we're eating.:goodvibes

Starring Rolls cupcakes are by far the best. I had the butterfinger one the last time we were there and it was so good. I like the sandwiches too but I am the only one who likes them since DH and DS2 can't eat turkey no one else eats there.

I also have a hard time finding good quick service options at DHS. For our last two trips Pizza Planet has been where we eat since it usually pleases everyone.

I love the Butterfinger cupcake. Maybe next time, we'll get another Butterfinger cupcake and try a new cupcake. Carter and Landon would like that. I think everyone but Carter would like the sandwiches at Starring Rolls, so maybe we'll give that another chance, if the weather is nice next time.

I like Pizza Planet, but it's always so noisy in there. I kind of wish there were more tables and less arcade games.

We always eat outside since maneuvering with 3 small children in there is not easy. I guess we have just been lucky with the weather being nice.
