An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Horrible day at work and then dentist in the evening kept me away - and that just on the day when you post about my letter!! :guilty:

I am glad that you appreciated the stamps! They were a bit of a bonus surprise. Very close to my office there is a post office which has a special "philately counter" selling all kind of special edition stamps. So, in order to make up the postage, I picked the prettiest ones on purpose! :goodvibes

Don't like the plan for day 12, but that is due to the fact that it's departure day. Never a good day, even with the best plan... :sad2:

You are not alone. I have never dated, or gone a prom. And as I'm going to a community collage next year, I prolly won't get to. :sad1:

You must feel a bit left out having to miss out on this tradition... But perhaps it helps to know that German teenagers don't go to a prom either. :goodvibes

I also wanted to add with regard to the 40s that I never meant that you should not say that it was a fun period. I just found it very interesting how different life must have been in the 40s in the US as compared to Europe. I recently read a book about how the US actually benefitted a lot financially from the war going on in Europe and thus leading to an increase in prosperity and living standards in the US. And this was not because there were only people trying to make money from other people's sufferings, but due to the fact that the only way the US could support the UK and other countries fighting against Germany was financially because there wasn't any political backing for joining the war. But I am very grateful that in the end the US did join the war and helped to restore peace, freedom and democracy in Europe (even if it was only Western Europe until 1990). And then went on to pay a lot of money during the Marshall plan to also restore prosperity.

Ok, that was more history than I originally planned to write about... :rolleyes1

Hey Mama. Sorry to do a drive by shout out, but I'm waaay tired and I needed to get to bed two hours ago. I've been hitting the TGM website most of the day to write out our trip Iten. I know it's archaic to write everything out, but this is how I remember things. Now that I know more what the parks are like, it's not as hard to get this stuff down and know what we want to do this time around. :goodvibes I'll try and get on here in the morning so I can catch you before you go to bed. Have an amazing day, be blessed.
Love you my SinC.

By the way....

I Have 20 More Days Until I Go to Disney World!!!
 :cheer2: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:

Hi Ladies,

I see you are both on, but I can't talk right now. There's a zillion people coming and going at my house right now.

I'll be able to be on a litte bit, but I think you'll both be off by then. But you can look forward to responses very soon :)

Camille, did you make a journal?? I am going to wait until May to start sharing the layout of my 2 journals- the Mickey and the Minnie, but I would really suggest you make a little booklet divided into sections of hidden gems/ things you want to do according to each park (or even land) and the resorts and/or restaurants. I also have sections for travel info., packing lists, drink/snack choices etc... It really gives a little peace of mind knwoing it's all there.

I finally went back far enough to see you asked me something...Yes Mama Liesa I've made out a journal. :goodvibes I even have a little spiral (Lime green of course with a LGMH laminated on the back of it) to take in my bag to make sure I have something to journal while I'm in the park as well. I'm pretty sure I'll start a TR. I'm not a writer, but I think I have a funny bone in me some where and can come up with some humor to entertain. :)

:scared1::scared1::scared1: Three WEEKS?!?!?!?!

Wow!

I totally skipped my Prom pirate: - so no pics of me! :cool2:

I KNOW! Three weeks, can you stand it?!? I'm about to pee myself every time I think about getting on the plane to Disney World!

Camille's trip sure came fast!!!!

It sure did! All of a sudden!

I leave in 18 days, have five custom outfits to make for Jordan, work 40 hours a week outside the home, have Girl Scout registration and last meeting of the year with a field trip to handle, have a school field trip and the big May Fair for PTO, am helping with preparations for the Big Irish Dance show at the end of May, plus soccer games and Mother's Day thrown in AND . . .

I AM GOING TO THE DARK SIDE WHICH I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT AND NEED TO RESEARCH!!!!

Panic is an understatement - LOL!!!! :scared1::scared1::eek::scared:

 K, you win!! :worship:

I just realized how much stuff I have yet to get done, I've made my list and I'm biding my time until we get paid again so I can start on the list of many things. It's really cool to see it all come together, I've only been planning this trip for about 2 years and now it's almost here! I've really done a great job this time planning and not stressing myself out with money issues because I paced everything, there's just a few things with graduation, but it's all working out perfectly. It's amazing what happens money wise when you apply faith for it all to come together. My husband surprised me and said he would throw in money that had been saved to apply as spending cash while in WDW. He also told me to buy a new fridge for the garage and a new washer and dryer set (they were all only 18 years old, think we needed new one's?) Then my dad sent us a generous just because check. He said in the note..Just because and have an amazing trip! So now all the appies, drinks and trinkets I wanted to get, I can now!! I'm a truly blessed woman, no one needs to have those extra's on a trip, but it's nice when you can have a few extra perks. :cloud9: Hope this didn't come off as a brag, it really was meant to show faith in action. God is soo good to me, and I don't even know what I did to deserve it. :lovestruc

Okay, I'm off of here for real this time. Mmmwha! Kiiiiiss!

I knew you must be trying to catch up after a long weekend away, but I do hope your time in the south was nice. :confused3 The dentist? Ick!

I have a HUGE stamp collection in the States- some from Mike's grandmother's massive collection. It's fun to see them from all over the world!! I need to get a whole bunch from here before I leave.

The ones you picked out were really great!! Maybe I should post a pic of them more upclose. ::yes::

Don't like the plan for day 12, but that is due to the fact that it's departure day. Never a good day, even with the best plan... :sad2:

Nope- never a good day when one has to leave. But I am determined to make the best of it despite. Maybe a sundae from Ghiradelli will ease the pain. ;) Gooey, gooey dark choco fudge, your mother ship is coming to rescue you....

You must feel a bit left out having to miss out on this tradition... But perhaps it helps to know that German teenagers don't go to a prom either. :goodvibes

We'll have to make up for it in some small ways. Maybe her daddy will agree to a trip to WDW. :confused3

Yes, we study about that in US History- the 40s are often credited for pulling the US out of the depression of the 30s, and lead to the easy life of the 50s, for good or bad. The war industries certainly did a lot for the economy's rebound.

Marshall Plan? I need to go re-read up on that. It's evoking vague memories  from AP American History...

Archaic?? I have VOLUMES of notebooks written out for this trip alone. Just look at the ridiculous size of this PTR!!!!! :scared1: Where do you think I got all that material?? If it's not on Excel, it's in a lined notepad. :lmao: If you're a visual learner- it's just gotta be that way.

I finally went back far enough to see you asked me something...Yes Mama Liesa I've made out a journal. :goodvibes I even have a little spiral (Lime green of course with a LGMH laminated on the back of it) to take in my bag to make sure I have something to journal while I'm in the park as well. YES! Of course you should do a TR. Otherwise, why write anything down. Well, ok... maybe for scrapbooking or something. But why not share it all with us??!! And yes, you do have some funny to pass around. ;)

FAsten your diapers girl; only 19 days to go when you see this next!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Sorry I'll miss you. Lots of love to you any way.   I miss bantering with you, I miss Jordy too. :sad1:

My heart is breaking for Jordan. I actually teared up today when I was re-reading some of the posts on his thread. One day (I believe very soon) this broken, fallen world will all be fixed, and a Champion will restore it all. Until then, we have a Comforter and each other. I pray for him a lot!!!!

FYI, I updated my blog for those who follow along, but this time I rambled about my C25K "running". A lot of you I know are doing that too, so I'd love your thoughts over there. On Saturday, I'll try to get the last installment up from our Nauruz, 2010 Day.

I'll still update ONCE IN A WHILE about my progress here, but I'll keep the bulk of my whining there. ;)

For those of you who are new just click on that adorable little camel down there in my signature!

My thoughts on the C25K are that it is awesome! My friend did it and rocked it! As soon as these scars stop hurting so much, I plan on starting it!

I have to tell you (of all people you'll understand this best); I totally dorked out today, and got about 2 minutes down the street and realized I started out my run in my SLIPPERS@!!!!!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1: Yup, just call me a pro!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

What a doofus!

But that's not all!! I got to my first "run" and realized that the "tray tables were not in their upright and locked positions either!!" What I had donned earlier in the day, was utterly inadequate for the task at hand, and things must have resembled that hysterical scene in Roberta, the movie with Ginger and Fred, where she well, is slightly scantily clad and tries to "dance". :scared1:

To top it all off, when I was stretching before I even started I must have pulled a muscle over my sternum, because it literally hurts to breathe or type or move dead center between my shoulder blades in the front. Is this really worth it?? :confused3

:rotfl2: After I read this I closed my eyes and invisioned it. I have tears! Where do I start?!?!?!?! Slippers? That is actually top-notch gear! All of the "cool" runners wear their slippers....who needs running shoes! Pssht, those are so lame! :cool2:

There are no words for the "tray table" situation!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Pulling a muscle even before the run is truely the sign of a greatness! Wow. You are such a great runner that your muscles were so afraid of you getting into your groove that they pulled themselves to avoid greatness! I say on a whole, you had a great run! I mean, the slippers were as high class as it gets. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Okay, that's a first. :faint:

oh my goodness!

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

That is so funny! SLIPPERS?!?!? lol

And...well...nevermind on the other.

As for stretching - I usually walk for 5 minutes to warm up my muscles and then stretch. I learned that one the hard way.

I can't believe where going over your last day already!

The slippers are just too funny! :rotfl: That's some really intense running your setting out to do!

Now, now, before you go flaming me too hard, guys, let me just say that they really aren't like cozy around the fire slippers. In Blankistan, we don't wear shoes in the house, ever. It is expected that you take them off whenever you enter a home.

So this year, I bought some semi-shoes to wear in the house- Croc Gretels. If you are curiious as to what they look like take a peek at the picture I recently posted of myself, pre- program.

They are more like a shoe, and in fact, could easily be worn as such. They are sturdy AND comfy, and I've often walked out forgetting that my tootsies aren't ready for the great outdoors.

So, I wasn't TOTALLY dorked out; just a little.

Pyrate-- I am laughing so hard, I just blew a snot wad. I'm serious. I am crying I'm laughing so hard. I'm sure my most fabulous Georgian wine helped my mirth along, but that post was just a real zinger.

Okay, that's a first. :faint:

I know. Call me great. Look for me in the NYC Marathon one day soon. :rotfl2:

I"ve learned my binding lesson. ;) I stretch first, but need to try your way now. Clearly, mine isn't working!

It's too soon! But, Crissy, I promise, there's a ton more I have up my sleeve!

Hey, next it's barefoot. Pocahontas style for sure. :lmao:

Ok...I admit...I totally pictured some pink fuzzy slippers!

pinkfuzzyslippers_thumb5.jpg

AWwww.... too bad! That'd have been the bomb!

You had me LOLing about the slippers and I had pictured in my mind the picture that Maroo posted- fuzzy pink slippers!!! :lmao::lmao:

Still trying to dig up the prom pics...

I passed out on the couch last night about 9:30 and made it into bed about 11 and had the worst sleep I've had in a long time. I felt I was up every hour, I couldn't get comfortable, and I was having the weirdest dreams. :confused3:confused3

I donno? Hope you are having a great day!
