An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

This trip is shapin up. I haven't followed from the very birth of it, but I have been enjoying the fun and witty banter since I have started reading. I almost feel sick that I am going to miss meeting you ladies, you're a fun bunch.

I know, Ty!!!! Only by days too! :headache: It sure would have been fun to get some hang out time with you!

Ummm... those last 2 posts were actually made by your truly (as in truly blind). I didn't see that SOMEONE hadn't logged out- again. Time for some birthday spankings, I see...

The PassPorter Moms podcast announced on 4/6 that there were 8 MNSSHP dates in September, starting on September 3rd. I wonder what is really happening? Hope that there is some heavy pixie dust available for this one.

Heather, with all my heart, I hope you're right. I hope this is one, big, fat, honkin' rumor of the gossip mill!!

To make a confession, I've been listening to the Party music for months (I kid you not!) when I exercise, when I quilt, whenever I just want to dream a party dream. I had my hopes set on seeing the Villian's Mix and Mingle, getting my picture taken at the horseless carriage, etc....

boo!!!

On a sweeter note: ONLY 2 days left until you get to have some Magic of your own!!! Enjoy the Club for me- just a little!

Sorry for the Disney changes - they keep us guessing huh?

Well, I just visited the thread on the Theme Parks and attractions board, and they seem pretty convincing that this is a real deal (or shaft, depending on how you look at it!).

Too bad our ADRs, itineraries, DATES even, were made around "reliable" info. in the beginning!! :sad2:

It's pretty difficult to say for English speakers, isn't it? Üs seem not to be very popular with tongues who grew up on English ;) But at least it is a positive phrase to be stuck with! :thumbsup2

Pronunciations are easy for me (which is much less useful than say, math, which I stink at). When I worked a reception desk in So California we had clients with many a different heritage come pick up documents on a regular basis and I challenged myself to learn and then remember the proper pronunciations of their names. Several of them noticed and were so grateful for that little gesture.

Other German phrases I still remember:
Woher komen Sie? (pause) Meine familie kommt aus der Schweiz. (True statement)
This gets me into trouble though, because people then assume I can carry on a decent conversation with them! :lmao:

Apparently, the pretty reliable news came out that there will be no Halloween parties until the 14th (for you astute ones, that's the day AFTER we leave!) this year.

Yes, I read this on some else's last night, but don't remember who....
Since there will obviously be MANY disappointed people, maybe you all should hold you own Halloween party, dress up and trade treats amongst yourselves. :confused3

we didn't have any walnuts in the house, so she couldn't make me my German Chocolate cake. when she asked me what kind I wanted, I was thinking about our dog, I replied "duh, what I always have-German Shepherd!" HA!

Woops!!! :rotfl2:

Liesa, I am sorry if they changed those party dates... I remember that I was really quite dissapointed when the Pirate & Princess Party wasn't continued in 2009. I hope that those rumors aren't true and that Disney will announce the parties (or at least oen party) nevertheless. :goodvibes

It's a great big, huge thank you to the people here that we've learned the local language rather than Russian! They freely tell us that, and it's nice to hear.

But I understand, and think it's funny, that once you exhaust your standard conversation phrases, that they can't understand why you have to grope for vocabulary and grammar as soon as the conversation goes deeper.

My hope is fading now that they will add something back during our week. You know something we ditched for lack of time was Hoop... Hmm....:rolleyes:

Just needing to re-adjust my fantasies and hopes, and unfortunately my schedule- again. :sad2:

:rotfl: Ashes and sackcloth! Vent away Mama, it will all be OK I promise. :)

April 5th. :goodvibes

I know. It will be fine. I just need to grieve a teeny bit, and move on. Re-adjust and forget it. There will be plenty of other fun stuff to do, just no party- that I've been looking forward to for a VERY long time!

Crapazoid!!!!

How very disappointing!

My sentiments exactly! Still reeling. Still going back over the spreadsheets. I think I may have a plan. Good (what wouldn't be at Disney?). But not as GREAT as a party.

Well, today has certainly been an interesting one in the life a gal on the Steppe!!

First, I wake up and find I have a 17 year old! :scared1: Some of YOU were married, or just about to be, at that age. My own great-grandmother was married at 13- but that was back when all young ladies were expected to be ready to run a home by their teenage years. Not that it was right... just saying. Here she is today at her special lunch:

Then, I find that I could possibly write another chapter in the running story of "As the Sewer Spews". Yes, ladies and gents, on our last episode of of our Swirling Saga, basketballs were employed, pumps were deployed, and pipes were reployed. Today's version involves gurgling bathtubs that spew foul smells from the depths of Hell. Won't you please join us, as we continue to hear the harrowing tales of "As the Sewer Spews"?

Shortly after that, I opened up my thread and find that maroo needs to talk to me- urgently. Change warning included. You ALL know what that means. And this time, it wasn't even Mary's doing. Believe it or not. Disney decided to pull a nasty fast one on the September party goers; I'm still reeling and NOT happy!

Back to the drawing board we go.... I have ideas though. And they be good ones, Matey! More forthcoming...

On a nicer note, the ladies of the family enjoyed a wonderful birthday lunch for Bek at a local Korean place. Our favorite thing was this:

It had little crepe like pancakes and a whole bunch of super yummy salad, loaded up with garlicky goodness for us to stuff and munch! So tasty! We blessed her, talked, noshed, and enjoyed some special girly time. Here's one of Mikki and I thrown in for good measure:

After lunch, I did math, English, spelling and reading with the younger kids. UGH! I am so ready for this school year to be done!! I cooked up a tantalizing dish of chicken parmesan without the parmesan, because I can't get that here, and here I sit... contemplating the gnarly storm brewing outside my window. Seriously, it looks like a full blown tornado could swoop down and suck me up out of my NO MNSSHP misery at any second.

And now that this update is far too long already, I'm going to give you the Plan of Attack for Day 5, since Disney was nice enough to keep their hands off of it. I'll have to go back to Day 2 and give you the new scenario, once I nail it down.

I give you--- DAY 5. Our first full day together at the POLY.

Despite being out late the night before at an MK EMH, we are determined to get up EARLY and head out the door for:

8:00- Rope Drop at AK- (Top Priorities: EE, Safari, Africa Trails, Music Groups, Tree of Life)

1:00- Move over to AKV for a 1:25 ADR at Sanaa

3:00 (or so)- Hop to EPCOT for touring FW (Top Priorities: SE, The Land, Crush, Figment, M:S (but don't want to thoroghly ruin dinner), and Soarin' (which is probably a pipe dream), and time in Innoventions where I hear they give out free souvenirs like Velcro frogs and Make-Your-Own Paper)

7:00- Head to Contemp for our ADR at Cali Grill (Wishes from Dinner) Hello goat cheese ravioli!

Bed early- or a swim, or late night laundry??

Lemme have it! The good, the bad, and the think about it again.

I thought you forgot another highlight of your day today!! :goodvibes It was great speaking to you!

I really like your plan! Afternoons in Future World are great, because most people seem to have moved on by this time to the World Showcase. :thumbsup2 And dinner at CG: :cloud9::cloud9: It will be intersting to hear your view on Sanaa once you visited it. Do you get Indian food where you live? It is kind of close geographically... But still I guess a very different culture I assume.

Which reminds me that I read your comment on Thai medical care - didn't you once mention that you were supposed to go on a trip to Thailand this year as well? I saw on the news that they have some troubles there as well at the moment.

You are so right!!! I had a wonderful time finally getting to "know" you by voice!! Even if it was only a few minutes. It will be so fun getting to meet you and Katharina soon and share some schneitzel (probably spelled that wrong!)

We have another day totally dedicated to EPCOT, so it seems good to "get FW out of the way". Most of you know, it's not my favorite park- only DHS being behind it.

I"m am really, really looking forward to CG!!! Looks like there are so many good things there. :cloud9:

Nope, no Indian here at all. This country has the LEAST tasty and imaginitive food I have ever encountered ANYWHERE! They basically cook with 5 ingredients and just make them look slightly different in the 6 dishes they make- I kid you not, it IS that bad. We used to joke that the 5 food groups are: Bread, Vodka, fat, sugar, and meat. I wish I could say that is far from the truth, but sadly it is not.

There is a conference in Thailand- (my favorite place in the entire world) that we had planned to go to; but unfortunately when we made the decision to return we forfeited that, as it was a leadership conference with our company. I know we will go back someday! Once you are there, it is practically nothing for hotels (NICE ones) and great (in my opinion the BEST) food!

Apparently, the pretty reliable news came out that there will be no Halloween parties until the 14th (for you astute ones, that's the day AFTER we leave!) this year.

If you'll recall, we had planned on going to not one, but 2 of these, and had made several ADRs and trip plans AROUND the assumption that these would take place!! Granted nothing is anything until it is officially announced on THEIR site, but the hours reflected what we thought were party nights. Those were 7:00 closings at MK on the 2 nights we had planned to hang out with the macabre and costumed.

I even had told you that just last week, we had decided on our costumes, and to say that I was pretty pumped about getting to go to at least one of these is a pretty colossal understatement. Well, again, nothing is anything until is officially announced, which it hasn't been yet. This is from the DIS (nothing is ever wrong here, right?? ;)) and Stitches Kingdom. Apparently, this info. also went out to the Travel Agents, which makes it even more depressingly sure.

Crap.

Did you call the commander & chief and voice your concerns? Have the 4 star generals convened and come up with a new plan of attack? :confused3

That is terrible news. :sad2:

I won't rub it the fact that MNSSHP is so much fun, OK?:rolleyes1

(that was the extent of the ribbing);)

OK What about Cirque? I know in the 'beginning' Cirque was on your list of possible expenses. I'm sure that would be a fun night out with the ladies! OR what about a Wishes/Illuminations cruise??? That might be an awesome experience! :goodvibes

EDITED:: I wonder why MK is closing at 7 then? HMMMMMM?????

Ummm... those last 2 posts were actually made by your truly (as in truly blind). I didn't see that SOMEONE hadn't logged out- again. Time for some birthday spankings, I see...

18 spankings??? OUCH!:headache::headache:

So sorry to hear about MNSSHP. That really stinks, it's such a great event. Still your going to have a ball no matter is you go to a party or not. :)

That totally sucks about no MNSSHP! I would be bummed out. But who knows, they might still change it..... be optimistic!

I might just have to include the cruise review in my next TR. I want to finish my Feb TR before going away again.... think I can do it? Expect an update every night this week! :rotfl:

I'm liking your plans on Day 5 :thumbsup2
