An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Mike just came home for lunch, and things are going to be fine, we think. Turns out this will be a bit of a process to get things sorted out with the TYPE of visa we have and get the question of whether or not we need work permits or not. Everything takes so long here, but it's not going to be a thing where we are serious trouble or anything.

I sure hope so!

On a side note, if you want to think about a persecuted people you can think about the group just south of us. They daily round up hundreds of migrant workers and deport them, much like what happens in the US. Altogether a difficult situation that's not easy to solve. Sometimes the rich people will hire them, only to get to the very end of a job that the workers have been doing and then call a friend in the migration dept. They round them up and deport them and they never get paid for their summer's worth of work. It really makes me so angry to see this type of injustice!

I just don't understand this world sometimes. :sad2:

On your Animal Kingdom list, I'm pretty fond of 1, 5, 7, and 8.

3 and 9 - :thumbsup2

You can keep 10.
I had my turn , so someone else can have my spot now.

Go check out the video on our TR. You'll see the place where you parked to meet at the hippo, only it's now under water. Thought you might find it interesting, since you have seen Nashville.

Good to hear that you and your family aren't in any trouble. The "rule of law" really is such an important feature of a state, you don't notice it as long as it is there, but if it isn't it is extremely missed. :sad2:

Me neither, MeMom!! :confused::confused:

I talked to my mom in Bowling Green last night, and they can't even get anywhere NEAR Nashville yet. I guess ALL the highways in are still closed?

I will go look at that video!!

So, no EE for you huh?? More for me then. :goodvibes But, see that it's #10?? I'm much more excited to hit the trails and spend some time just poking around- doing those things my kids don't want to.

I hear ya! I think it's kinda like comparing it to a clean house. If you walk into someone's house and it's clean, you just don't really notice. Because that's the way it's supposed to be. But you CERTAINLY do if it's not. Make sense??

Speaking of excuses, I'm pretty sure it was Glennbo (who hasn't posted on here like since, last week, (eh, hemmmm) who said I'd likely find about 50 excuses for not running. Just so you know, Glenn, you were awfully close. Nearing the 40 mark now. And I'm only on W2 still. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I know, I know...I'm sorry!

I'm not sure if I said you'd find 50 excuses, maybe I did. But on the flip-side, I literally wrote down nearly as many reasons why I run....which I need to have going through my mind when I'm running and the mind-games are churning and I'd just rather stop.

I hope we see De-vine this year, I've never seen her.

Glad your housekeeper was able to find you some Relief. Talk about literal! At least she didn't spell it R-O-L-A-I-D-S.

YOU DID!!?? That's some kind of dedication! My only great excuse right now, is that I may score a future Disney trip out of it someday. ;)

I also LOVE it when Robert Ullrey (my personal hero right now) tells me I'm doing great, only 30 more seconds, etc.... :cloud9:

Ummmm... that would have been somewhat awkward to administer. :lmao: Anyways, we got quite the comic relief after a rather stressful morning!! It's never any small matter when the police demand you appear in their office, "right now!".:scared1::eek:

I'm glad things look okay. We will keep praying that things work out and you can have smooth sailing until you come home to Oregon!:goodvibes and of course our "other home" WDW!

Okay I have a LOT of catching up to do but I've just been reading through a couple of your updates from a while back. You're going to see La Nouba?!?! I am SUPER jealous! You must give a full report as I've always wondered what the show is like. The tickets are just so expensive :sad2: I hear it's worth it though. Did you know Cirque du Soleil originated in Montreal? Yay Canada

I know it's a bit late but YAY FOR 3 MONTHS!!!! :cheer2: Will catch up on the rest later. Caio!

Seems to be ok, for the time being. I guess we need a letter from the Governor's office stating that our work here is "valuable" enough that they are going to waive the work permit for us. If we can't get that, there are other things we can do, but all take time no matter which route we take. :sad1:

I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MUCH I NEED THIS VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep!! We chose to go big this trip!! And boy do I need it! The are spendy, but we got some good seats in Cat. 2, so it's not as much as like front and center.

I did know that!! In fact, I recently read an article in BBCNews that the Russian circuses are losing oodles of performers to the Cirque, and Russia is promising to pay them better. Yeah, right.

Oh Liesa, I'm glad things look like they will be ok!

Wow that looks like a lot of work. I'm hosting a shower next weekend and am turning into a bear just thinking about it.

Liesa-
Just jumped on here for a minute. I read earlier about the police but didn't have time to post. So glad to hear that every think is going to be OK with you and Mike. TTYL

YES!!!! Dawa is definitely ON MY LIST!! I need to write that in. I'm not parade type person, but do want to sit in that little shaded area next to the Dawa updating my TJournal. Every park, I feel, needs a designated Journal Update spot. In WS it's the Tequila Bar, in AK the Dawa seating area, in MK, hmmmm... I haven't about that one, but I envision myself sitting down by the castle moat noshing on Casey's Nuggets. DHS? While waiting for F! or ???

That is a good idea! Having a designated spot for each park. I think sitting at one of those tables right by Casey's, looking at the Castle, listening to the guy playing the piano would be a nice spot. For DHS, there's a whole lot of tables near the CS places by ToT and across from the shops. There's also a lot of benches that way too. Another nice place to sit is near the water over across from H&V.

You guys are the bestest!!!! I really mean it!! You put up with all kinds of complaining and drama, and keep coming back for more!!

There's always something!!! As if we didn't have enough stress in our lives right now with moving.

OK, focusing on the positive:

1) I found a reliable and REGULAR truck that goes to the Big City (phew, almost slipped there!) every week, who is willing to take boxes of stuff to sell to the larger expat community.

2) I found a buyer for our Brio train set for $75!!!!!! OH YEAH!

3) I managed to pull myself away from the computer long enough to get an entire cupboard of homeschool books cleaned out and ready to make a list of and get priced to sell!!

It was a good day. To top it off, Bek made THE MOST INCREDIBLE shortcake EVER tonight for dessert. A tad crispy on the outside. Light and fluffy, and not too sweet on the inside. It fairly melted in our mouths!! And we got our once a year splurge of strawberries (they are only avaiable for about 2 weeks a year!) to go on top. Yes, it was a VERY good day!

Those are some excellent suggestions!! Thanks!! You know DHS WAY better than me, but that's about to change. I really, really enjoyed sitting at the outside seating area at Starring Rolls last year too, so I'll have to keep that one on mind.

Anaheim Produce. :thumbsup2

OK, going to a map now. Is it by ToT??

No problem! I love helping people out with WDW stuff. :)
