An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Most of you know that The Grinch Who Stole Night Time Posting(a.k.a. my dad) went camping last night. So you can imagine how late The Night Time Poster(a.k.a. my Mom, Liesa) stayed up posting. We had a little conversation the next morning

Me: Hey, how late did you stay up last night?

Mom(looks guilty): Late

Me: How late?

Mom(looks guilty, with a little guilty smile): Too late

Me: No, I mean as in what time did you go to bed?

Mom(the guilt grows): Late

Me: What O'clock? I fell asleep VERY late and you were still on.

Mom(she is quite red inthe face by now): Well, it was about an hour after you went to bed at 12:30(she gets even MORE guilty looking)

Me(laughing now): you're lying! Liar, liar, pants on fire, hanging from a stinking wire!

I never got the time, but I know it was around 2:30-3:00.

Just thought ya might want to know!

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

(she's going to deny every word of this BTW, or a lot of it.)

I like thunderstorms, if there's a big porch with a swing on it to watch from.

EWwww... that sounds nasty! :scared:

I am experiencing the "what happens around 40" thing these in a scary way. What is the deal with my skin too!?? My hands are freakishly wrinkled now! Ah well, if they can still knead bread and type on the DIS, I'm good to go.

I used to watch them from the inside of my garage in IL, it was cool!

Ah yeah...the skin. I figure it's payback for being acne free as a teen.

I saw her little green light on at a very late hour -- I was surprised. I'm not sure how our time zones work out now that we've "sprung forward", so I'm not sure of the time exactly, but I've got a feeling it went beyond being late to being early. That's okay, mom's are allowed. I'm sure she was up with you at that hour once or twice when you were a baby.

It appears as though question #6 needs some clarification!!

Please go back and re-answer if you guessed say.... fewer than say 8. In fact, anyone who wants to change their answer may. Here's why: I think some of you may not have realized or have forgotten that I was talking about getting a BOX of accessories from the Once Upon a Toy Store in DTD- the kind that you fill 'til full and pay a flat rate of $20.

On top of that I put out a call for whoever would like to- send me an accessory for him/her to wear during our trip themed to a Park or specific land.

So, now, I"ll ask the question again: How many new accessories will Tate O'Patty get (both from the store and/or from his DISPals)??

Changing my answer to 23.

I won't deny it. I had lots of "work" to do!

I had game answers to get organized, PMs to answer, a little research to catch up, Prom pictures to look at, and I even slipped in answering a few e-mails.

Lucky girl, you! I had every plague a 14 year old could handle.

It only happens a few times a year- I enjoy them when they come around. Last night I had to go to bed early- a relentless pounding headache became master of my evening.

As for ear-infected babies... Let's just say I've had my share... ;)

Changing my answer to 23.

Gotcha~

This thread needs to get rolling again with some witty banter! I am going to need you guys as a laugh break and sanity check to get through the next 20 days until vacation. So sharpen that wit and pull out those dictionaries - I want to laugh so hard that I need to wipe my screen! I will check in the AM to see how you did! :rotfl:

Liesa.. you've been busted! (no not that bust :sad2: :lmao:)

Just got home from work.. again. When it rains it pours! Honestly, I'll take the pouring rain. :)

On a side note.. I've lost all my ambition on writing my TR. The next update is mostly pictures, so hopefully I'll get to that tonight. :confused3

Ok, I'll do my best! Hmmmmm witty banter to make you wipe hurled booger bombs from uproarious laughter off your screen.... let me think about it. I"m sure I can cough up something. You have done that right?? Just the other day, I "chuckled" through my nose and a snot blob came flying out. My poor son happened to be standing in the direct line of fire, and got grossed out. I have no idea why because no matter what I do, I can't get him to break the habit of picking and wiping them on his shirt. Whatever. I guess his first girlfriend can tell him that's gross.

I get busted all the time- what she failed to tell you is that we also watched 3 movies in a row, and she herself didn't go to bed untl 12:30 or 1:00.

I've noticed you've been MIA lately! Hope it's bringing in some needed cash!

OH, don't lose your ambition!! If you lose that- then you'll give it up!! No nonsense like that is allowed!! See? you should have taken Bek and I with you, so I could write your TR for you.

As for my busting--- it was held up in a strapping tale of a young lady.

This story was about YOU, my dear mother! but you can write one about me if you want. No matter what happens, you still are in bed way after me! :rotfl:

Does that mean I get to take a bow?? ;)

Remember the thrill of your first prom?? The excitement of getting all gussied up in a tux or fancy dress?? Of getting to stay out ALL night with good friends?

I remember my homeys and I went to Kobes in Palm Springs for dinner before the dance. It was fabulous! We laughed, took goofy pictures, and all that good stuff. I was a nerd to the nth degree, so there was no drinking in my circle (this is important later). Just good old fashioned fun and lots of laughs.

But here's the memory that stands out most:

My grandfather who was uber rich let my date and I borrow his red Volvo P1800 to drive to Palm Springs and back. (What a fool!) It was FAST! I think Rob (my date) felt compelled, like any high school senior would be, to see what she could do. I think he maxed it out at about 110 on the I-10. It was fun. Anyway, I'm here to tell about it so it stayed in the realm of fun and hadn't crossed the line into idiotic.

So, we leave dinner and get to the place where the dance was. It was super fancy, and a valet comes over and opens the door. And I try to get out of the car. I"m like, what the heck? Is the seat kinda low, and I'm just having a hard time standing up? Why can't I get out of my seat? Have I been slipped a Mickey? The sad part is that I tried to get out like 4 times.

The valet starts cracking up, and sporting this far too wide grin on his ugly face and says, "Ummm... you might try unfastening your seatbelt."

Yup, my most clear memory of my prom. :scared1::lmao:

Here's what had me recalling one of my most embarrassing moments:

Don't they look smashing? It's DS's first time in a suit, and had I been there I would have made sure his pant legs were the proper length. Ah well... at least he wasn't racing down the freeway at 110 mph, and his date was spared the snarky comments when she forgot to unfasten her seatbelt. :lmao:

So, this brings me to Day 11 of our Plan of Attack!

Our last day in the parks.

I've reserved this day to use my last day of Park Hopper ticket if we feel like we want to go back and catch something we've missed along the way.

I'm guessing we may have a CS Meal leftover on our DDP at this point, so I'm thinking we may actually catch some breakfast at the Riverside Mill on this day.

Maroo is taking off today, so we'll say a sad good bye to here in the morning.

The plan, as it stands, has us at MK all day, but as I look at my beautious spreadsheet I'm thinking we might want to either not go anywhere in the morming, or hit a different park until...

2:00- ADR at the GF for Tea where I get to meet Dani (starnightstarsky)

After that we'll head to MK and poke around catching things we didn't earlier in the week.
My only priority for the day is the Flag Lowering Ceremony at 5:00.

At 6:55 the two of us have an ADR at the Plaza. Come to me my beloved Reuben, well-endowed with kraut.

EMH until 12:00

Hmmm, I think there's a serious problem here. I would never do something like that.

Awwww. So cute. I won't get those pics from my son, he's not going. :sad1: Oh well.....

WE GET TO GO TO DISNEY WORLD INSTEAD!!! :yay:

Ok, I've revised our guess.

It was only ONE night. Last night I was in bed by 12:30.

I'd pick WDW over prom anyday!!:banana::banana:

I"m good! Just grabbed my coffee, DH and the kiddos should be rolling in any time, Bek has her American history in (we're in the Depression Era now), and it's a "normal" day.

On a side note.. I've lost all my ambition on writing my TR. The next update is mostly pictures, so hopefully I'll get to that tonight. :confused3

So much for mostly pictures. :confused3:sad2:

I gotta stop trying to write and watch TV at the same time.. it takes me too long to type. :rotfl:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Too funny!

They look very nice together. :thumbsup2

So, this brings me to Day 11 of our Plan of Attack!
I think maybe hanging out at POR in the morning.. pool time, relaxing around the resort.

Or you can hit a headliner before your tea. (TSM, Soarin, TT RnRC) Who knows, maybe a little sleeping in wouldn't be a bad idea either.:confused3

Umm I'm not too sure about that. 2 days (jr. & sr.) to goto a prom. Whole life to goto Disney... I'd take the prom.

I must say I find it rather depressing. :rotfl2: (ok, I know that was bad)

I prefer the 40's.

Yeah, maybe just sleeping, period, woudn't be a bad idea?!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

No, I disagree, you can go out to dinner anytime with friends. We did it a lot; but I only get to go to WDW once every like 2 or 3 years. If that.

:sad2:

40s were fun. Lots of kitchey idealism there.

Hello Liesa!

Love the prom pictures. :goodvibes

Your plans sound great per usual. I think seeing the flag lowering ceremony would be really neat. :thumbsup2
