An interesting look at what happened to the pentagon on 9/11

I SAW the plane hit the building. It wasn't a small plane, and it wasn't a missile. It was a large airliner that was flying low and fast before it hit.

Now I'm getting "cannot find server" for the video, so I'll try again later. But I must say, I can't believe that there are people out there that actually don't believe that Flight 77 hit the Pentagon.

Incredible.

That's the basic premise... They're saying it was more like a missile or something.... Please!!

What a load of crap!!

If you believe the web site then i can see you thinking there may be missing videos, but in this day and age, I can't believe there are any missing, the news groups of the world would have payed big bucks to get this and I would believe someone keeping it to sell to them vs giveing over to the FBI or any other goverment agency

Well, there you go. That's good enough for me. The video presents a good case, but, then, that is their goal isn't it?

I can't down load what may be "trash". My sister was driving by the Pentagon at the exact moment on 9/11---she was on the cell phone with my Dad at the time. She saw the plane and it still brings tears to her eyes just to think of what happen that day. My hubby and I have a friend who ran for his life as he works in the part that got hit. We were so relieved to see him just days later.

I am sure it is small clips from video that was released or was gotten ahold of from someplace nothing was mentioned about it and how it was attained. I can say though it would have been a MUCH larger area that was damaged in front of the pentagon if a 757 had hit the lawn and the building.

It wasn't a matter of selling the video footage it was video from security cameras etc that the FBI was said to have confiscated to look at I am asuming is what they did with it.

I have seen security camera footage on the major networks that show the airliner impacting the side of the Pentagon. It's "stop action" video, but it definitely show Big Airplane hitting Big Building.

Besides, based on my knowledge of cruise missile ordnance, there is not a missile made short of a Titan 4 (which is a heavy lift orbital launch vehicle) that could cause the devastation made by a 757 full of 50 tons of jet fuel.

This comes from the same people as the "flat earth" & "man did not land on the moon" garbage does.

I'm glad that you are so certain about how large of an area would have been damaged by the strike. I would like to add that pictures of the site can also be deceiving, if you've never seen the Pentagon in person. It is a HUGE building, and there was a very large damage area. Unless you can comprehend the actual size of the entire building, the perspective given by photos isn't always "true to life". The area of damage is still noticeable, due to the replacement stone being slightly lighter than the surrounding older parts of the building.

All I know is what I saw, and it wasn't a small plane or a missile that hit the Pentagon, and no number of conspiracy theories is going to change what I saw.

As for the plane hitting the lawn around the Pentagon, it wasn't the lawn but rather a helipad that is located on that side of the building.

I've seen it on a school trip to the area so yes I can comprehend the size of the place it is massive no matter how you look at the place.

Do they sell tinfoil hats on that site?

A list of witnesses at or near to the Pentagon, September 11th, 2001 collated from reports to be found online:

• Anon, from the Navy Annex. As I stood there, I instinctively ducked at the extremely loud roar and whine of a jet engine spooling up. Immediately, the large silver cylinder of an aircraft appeared in my window, coming over my right shoulder as I faced the Westside of the Pentagon directly towards the heliport. The aircraft, looking to be either a 757 or Airbus, seemed to come directly over the annex, as if it had been following Columbia Pike - an Arlington road leading to Pentagon. The aircraft was moving fast, at what I could only be estimate as between 250 to 300 knots. All in all, I probably only had the aircraft in my field of view for approximately 3 seconds. The aircraft was at a sharp downward angle of attack, on a direct course for the Pentagon. It was "clean", in as much as, there were no flaps applied and no apparent landing gear deployed. He was slightly left wing down as he appeared in my line of sight, as if he'd just "jinked" to avoid something. As he crossed Route 110 he appeared to level his wings, making a slight right wing slow adjustment as he impacted low on the Westside of the building to the right of the helo, tower and fire vehicle around corridor 5.

• Donald "Tim" Timmerman, a 36 year old resident of Eppington Drive, to the south of the Pentagon across Interstate 395, is a navy pilot and a photographer. "I was looking out the window; I live on the 16th floor, overlooking the Pentagon, in a corner apartment, so I have quite a panorama. And being next to National Airport, I hear jets all the time, but this jet engine was way too loud. I looked out to the southwest, and it came right down 395, right over Colombia Pike, and as it went by the Sheraton Hotel, the pilot added power to the engines. I heard it pull up a little bit more, and then I lost it behind a building. And then it came out, and I saw it hit right in front of -- it didn't appear to crash into the building; most of the energy was dissipated in hitting the ground, but I saw the nose break up, I saw the wings fly forward, and then the conflagration engulfed everything in flames. It was horrible. What can you tell us about the plane itself? It was a Boeing 757, American Airlines, no question. You say that it was a Boeing, and you say it was a 757 or 767? 7-5-7. 757, which, of course.. American Airlines. American Airlines, one of the new generation of jets. Right. It was so close to me it was like looking out my window and looking at a helicopter. It was just right there. . .

• A CNN on-the-sight reporter was interviewed by a fellow fromCNN : You got a close-up look at the damage, didn't you? Yes, I was right next to the building. And what did you see? I saw a big, gaping hole and I could see pieces of the plane inside. Earlier, an eye-witness told us the plane didn't crash into the building. Well, I don't know what it looked like from where he was, but I looked right inside the hole and I know it crashed into the building.

• Christopher Munsey, Navy Times reporter , was en route to work. ". . I couldn’t believe what I was now seeing to my right: A silver, twin-engine American Airlines jetliner gliding almost noiselessly over the Navy Annex, fast, low and straight toward the Pentagon, just hundreds of yards away. The plane, with red and blue markings, hurtled by and within moments exploded in a ground-shaking “whoomp,”

• Joel Sucherman, USAToday.com Multimedia Editor, saw it all: an American Airlines jetliner fly left to right across his field of vision as he commuted to work Tuesday morning. It was highly unusual. The large plane was 20 feet off the ground and a mere 50 to 75 yards from his windshield. Two seconds later and before he could see if the landing gear was down or any of the horror- struck faces inside, the plane slammed into the west wall of the Pentagon 100 yards away. "My first thought was he's not going to make it across the river to National Airport. But whoever was flying the plane made no attempt to change direction. It was coming in at a high rate of speed, but not at a steep angle--almost like a heat-seeking missile was locked onto its target and staying dead on course."

"it came screaming across the highway, route 110" Was it a commercial jet? Do you know how many engines? "I did not see the engines, I saw the body and the tail; it was a silver jet with the markings along the windows that spoke to me as an American Airlines jet, it was not a commercial, excuse me, a business jet, it was not a lear jet, it was a bigger plane than that.".

• Omar Campo, a Salvadorean, was cutting the grass on the other side of the road when the plane flew over his head. "It was a passenger plane. I think an American Airways plane," Mr Campo said. "I was cutting the grass and it came in screaming over my head. While exiting the ramp to the Pentagon he "was scanning the air. There wasn't anything in the air, except for one airplane, and it looked like it was loitering over Georgetown, in a high, left-hand bank," he said. "That may have been the plane. I have never seen one on that (flight) pattern."

Turning around expecting to see a fighter jet fly over, he saw only a split-second glimpse of a white commercial airliner streaking low toward the building, and him! He did not even have time to duck before it plowed into the side of the Pentagon around the corner and about 200 yards from where he stood. Report by Maj Fred H. Allison, USMCR (Ret):

... I was wondering, while I wasted my computer space and time, watching that documentary... Is this a MM film?

BTW, I seem to recall people at Shanksville were just amazed that there was no wreckage.

And, the metro officer I met at the Pentagon in March would beg to differ with this account, as he, too, SAW what happened, as he ran in to help however he could.

As for the lack of debris on the lawn, when an airplane impacts a building with such speed, reference the Snopes article. It gives a clear description as to what would have happened to the remnants of the aircraft.

Please take a look at the photo I took from Snopes.com's website. If you look closely, you will see the burns on the wall from the wings of the airplane as well as the engines. The gaping hole would have been made from the fuselage, and the wings collased toward the fuselage as it pierced the outer wall of the Pentagon.

That first link isn't working for me. Can't see anything but a white page. And I've waited. :(

I think it is an absoulte disgrace to the memory of the people who lost their lives that such a thing would be suggested.

It took me about 8 minutes on a dial-up, PinWizard.

It's basically a few minutes of video laying out all of the "evidence" that Flight 77 didn't really hit the Pentagon.

I have a personal friend (Captain, USN) who had left the area 10 minutes before the crash. He was still in the Pentagon and, fortunately, survived.
I have spoken with him a couple times about the crash and he says it was a large commercial aircraft.
I would just like to know where the passengers from flight 77 are if they didn't hit the Pentagon?
This is even beyond MM! Too goofy for speculation of conspiracy.
( No offence to Goofy)

Finally! I had to reload the page four or five times. Bologna in my book.

I am beyond words.

My husband was there that day. If not for the very lucky fact that the plane went into the section that was under reconstruction and thus not completely reopened the death count would have been so much higher and the building would have sustained so much more damage, maybe even complete devastation.

It is beyond sickening that people are saying this is a coverup.

I can't get it to load either.

Thankfully, I wasn't in DC that horrible day. But, I did see the damage to the Pentagon in person. Something very LARGE hit that building. I've no doubt it was the aircraft in question. Pictures from the media did not accurately describe the devastation. It looked much worse in person.
