Thoughts on this? Extra points those of us need to get rid of...why can't Disney start a Make a Wish bucket for those?

The idea gets mentioned here every now and then. It has not happened.

Once, I called Give the kids the World and offered a weekend to a volunteer. I have March UY, and a volunteer family got a weekend at OKW. That's what I did.

Disney will rather have your points go to waste and than rent out the room for cash. Win win for disney. Would be nice if we could give.

Make A Wish has a program by which they accept them, actually.

They would also have to follow the transfer rules for such a gift which means they'd could not be banked/borrowed and it would use your one transfer for the UY.

Those points end up as breakage. Proceeds (up to 2.5% of the operating budget) less a "commission" to DRC come back to DVC to reduce Members' Dues. Proceeds over the 2.5% go to Disney.

Suggested this to each DVC VP, (three of them) and never heard anything back from any of them.
