An extra helping of Pixie Dust Please...

I got a call today from my friend, who's children are living in our house right now due to the fact that she has a daughter in the NICU, baby Jaden Michaela who I posted about before. Jaden was doing wonderful and we'd finally been allowed to hold her and say "hello"... Then three weeks ago she took a turn for the worst and developed an infection. Still not terrible though. But now the doctors say on top of that infection, her heart valves are getting very wide due to the increased pressure on the heart, she has developed a bacteria in her ventilator, and her intestines have a perforation. On top of everything else they did an upper GI yesterday and the barium will not pass now ... so they are trying their darnest to get it to pass. Jaden now requires atleast two surgeries that we know of so far. One of which is the same one that was shown on ER tonight (man was I a wreck watching that). PLEASE if you have a moment please send some pixie dust Jaden's way, she needs all of our prayers and thoughts to pull through this. She has two big sisters (2 and 3yr old) here in my home waiting for her to come play. Please keep them all in your prayers. Thank you in advance and may god bless.

I've been thinking of them since you posted last. Our little Paul was born in May at only 1 lb and 7 ounces. We were extremely lucky in that he never had any major problems (although he did have one infection) and we only had to wait for him to get big enough to come home. Still, he was in the NICU 83 days and it was so tough. It sounds like you are being a wonderful friend, which I know means so much to Jaden's mommy and daddy. Tell them that little Paul and his mommy and daddy are thinking about them. Also, feel free to pass along my email address to them if they want to talk to someone who has been through the whole NICU ordeal.
