AmyT's Journal (Comments Definitely Welcome!)

I don't know what is happening to me, I think I am possessed! Yesterday I lost my mind and ate a very large bowl of FF ice cream, plus some microwave popcorn (probably 1/3 of a 3.5 oz bag). Today started off good, but I was cleaning out the fridge in the garage and found a tub of Heath Bar cookie dough and decided to make cookies. BAD IDEA!!!!!!!! I ended up eating 6 of them, I am ashamed to admit... :guilty: TOM is coming, I think that might explain some of my behavior, but I need to GET A GRIP and get back on track tomorrow!!!!!! Here is the damage du jour:

B-Egg Beaters; Toast-n-Butter; Banana
L-Salad (Romaine, 2 Egg Whites, Bac-O's; LF dressing); DC
S#1-Apple
S#2-Tropical Fruit Salad; 100 Cal Pack
D-3 pieces Homemade Turkey Pepperoni Pizza; 6 Cookies :eek:
WORKOUT-Walking (15 min)

You still didn't do too bad! I would have eaten the cookie dough frozen, so you still have more resistance than I do!! You need a treat every once in a while. Enjoy it, and move on to the next day!! :flower:

Good job on your scale staying the same and glad your kids are home and things can get back to normal for you. Sorry you had a bad couple of days but jumping right back on the wagon is a good thing!!!!! BRAVO for you for keeping working at this - that's a VERY good thing!!!!!!! :)

Keep on :banana: :banana:
Chris

Well, I got back on track for the most part Sunday. I ate way too many sweets, but at least I didn't eat a single cookie! And I packed the majority of the cookies up and DB took them to work. I know TOM is hovering, since I gained 3 lbs overnight. :confused3 It is nothing I can control, I will just deal with it and wait for it to go away, which it will!!

Actuals for Sunday:
B-Egg Beaters; Toast-n-Butter; Blueberries
S#1-Popcorn at Movies
L-1/2 Grilled Ham-n-Cheese Sandwich; Grapes; DC
S#2-8 Pita Chips w/Hummus
D-Meatloaf, Broccoli; Pasta-Roni; 1 cup FF Ice Cream (180cal); FF Pudding (70 cal); 2 Creme Savers (40 cal)
WORKOUT-none

Today is another day! I am all set to make healthy choices. :teeth: My new schedule will be going to the gym on MWF and doing Pilates/Weights on TTh. I am going to do the Weights before Pilates so I am sure they get done. I was really getting back into the "why even bother, it's not working" mentality, but I started reading journals and there are so many of you out there who have successfully weathered your journey. I don't want to be a quitter and I want to stay in the game and hopefully be an inspiration to someone someday when they read my journal and see that I finally reached my goal (it may be a year from now, but it's gonna happen!) So again, thanks to everyone for your continued support! The plan for today:

B-Yogurt; LF Granola; Banana
L-Salad (Romaine, Cheese, 2 Egg Whites, LF Dressing); 8 Mini Rice Cakes; DC
S#1-Apple
S#2-Pineapple; 5 Mini Rice Cakes
D-Pork Chop; Mashed Potatoes; Italian Green Beans; FF Pudding (70 cal); 3 Butterscotch (60 cal)
WORKOUT-Elliptical (40 min); Walking (10 min)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jamie-We took the kids to see Sky High yesterday, and they went swimming a couple times and we played board games. That is all they wanted to do, I was surprised! I thought we'd be spending a few hours at Peter Piper Pizza or something!
Jane E-You crack me up! I have such a guilt factor when I overeat, it doesn't matter what it is. Maybe I should just go for the Milk Duds, it might satisfy an unfilled urge!
Karyn-Believe me, if it was chocolate chip cookie dough instead of Heath bar, I would have been prying the frozen dough out with a screwdriver and shoveling into my mouth!!
Chris-Thanks for the pep talk! I really needed it after this weekend!
Your food sounds great!! I get a lot of ideas from you! Thank for visting my journal. You always have good things to say!! :) I went through my closet yesterday and pulled out all of the too small-hope to fit into-used to fit clothes and put them down in the basement. I am more determined than EVER to lose the weight and fit into them again, but I don't need them taunting me in the process!! I personally need something tangible to work towards to be able to lose weight. It took me a while to get my mind set on what I needed to do, but now I think I'm in it for the duration!! Have a great day!! :flower:
Amy,
I am so proud of your attitude about not giving up and about gaining the 3 pounds. That is great!!!!!!
Glad that you had a good time this weekend!!
Your food choices today sound wonderful. You are doing great.
Have a great day!
I had a really good day yesterday! I have to brag – yesterday about 3pm (right when my brain enters the obsessive snacking zone) I walked past the breakroom and there was CAKE! Usually it’s chocolate and I can pass that up, but this was white cake with a thin layer of raspberry filling. I walked in there to get a piece, but then I thought about how much I weighed yesterday morning and walked away… As if that wasn’t tempting enough, about 5 minutes later a co-worker came up to my desk, waved a piece in my face and said “Look what they have in the breakroom!” Just because I am gaining pre-TOM water weight doesn’t give me an excuse to add some REAL weight to it, right? So pat myself on the back, I think resisting that actually convinced myself that I have fully recovered from my weekend relapse!! I did have a struggle with wanting to eat more sweets after dinner. I had 3 butterscotch discs throughout the evening to try to cure my sweet tooth. It did pretty good, hopefully tonight will be better! I have to take DD6 to tap today, so I’ll have no problem sticking to my scheduled meals. I need to get my workout done before we leave. I got a different Pilates DVD from Blockbuster online, I hope I like it!
B-Yogurt; ½ c. LF Granola; Banana
L- Salad (Romaine, Cheese, 2 Egg Whites, LF Dressing); 8 Mini Rice Cakes; DC
S#1-Grapes
S#2-Blueberries; 8 Pita Chips w/Hummus
D-Stroganoff (crockpot); Wheat Noodles; 1 c. FF Ice Cream; 1 cookie
WORKOUT-Walking (10 min)
Karyn-I am SO glad some of my suggestions are useful to you, thanks for letting me know, it makes me feel great!
Jamie-You are always so supportive and help me keep going, thanks for always being there!
Congrats for bypassing that cake! Great job getting back on track again. So glad that your children are back home and keeping you busy. It sounds like you had a great day the other day playing games with them.
I can turn down white cake, but when it's chocolate... :cake:
Glad that you stuck around!! :flower:
Don't you wish we could stop the office birthdays?? How about a little gift instead of the cake.
That showed real willpower to resist! Good for you. Although I am with Karyn - I can resist all cake except chocolate!
Hope you have a great day!! :flower:
Way to go Amy!!!! :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana:
Great on passing up the cake. That is always the best feeling in the world, at least to me, when you pass things like that up!!!
You are really kickin butt!!!! Keep it up!!!!!
I feel much better about things, more focused, more motivated. :goodvibes That is especially encouraging, given the fact that this pre-TOM week is usually when I give up all hope and want to eat everything in sight… I was not able to do Pilates and Weights yesterday – I was just too busy! :guilty: After getting home from work, I helped DS with his homework and next thing I knew it was time to get DD to tap and we didn’t get back until 6:45, and we still had to eat dinner and get the kids showered… I think I am not going to schedule anything on Tuesdays. I apparently won’t have time and if it is not scheduled, I won’t feel so bad about missing it!
Last night I still had a struggle with the after dinner urge to snack. :mad: I turned myself into a human garbage disposal and ate the remaining heath bar cookie and the rest of the FF ice cream (about 1 cup). I still wanted to snack after that but I didn’t give in, and I am proud of myself for that! Note to self: DON’T BUY ICE CREAM ANYMORE!!!!!!!! If I want an ice cream treat, I will go to Baskin Robbins, have a cone and be done with it…
I am meeting some friends for cocktails this evening. :banana: This is highly unusual for me since I work with all men and most of my friends are men. These women are actually wives of men that DB works with. We all go to parties together and go to Mexico together as couples, but this will be the first time we are just hanging out with the girls! It is nice to have female friends (other than all my female WISH friends, of course!). That probably sounds corny to a lot of you, but when I grew up, all my neighborhood friends were boys, I went to college with mostly boys (8-to-1 guy-to-girl ratio) and I work in a male-dominated industry. I am just not around women that much!! I am going to eat spaghetti (very filling) before I go out and limit myself to 2 drinks. I can’t have any more than that anyway, since I will be driving myself…
B-Yogurt; ½ c. LF Granola; Banana
L- Salad (Romaine, Cheese, LF Dressing); 8 Mini Rice Cakes; DC
S#1-Pear
S#2-Pita Chips w/Hummus
D-10 French Fries; Chips w/Spinach & Artichoke Dip; 1/2 Carne Asada Taco, 1 Chicken Taco; 2 Butterscotch Discs; Small McD Swirl Cone
WORKOUT-Elliptical (40 min); Walking (10 min)
Jane-Thanks, yes it is nice to have the kids back, even though I wanted to wring DS9's neck (he decided to top off the shampoo bottle with water, so when I washed DD6's hair, it was runny and pretty much ruined...). I told him I guess I will have to watch him take a shower from now on if he's going to do stuff like that. He grimaced at that thought!!!
Karyn&Cindy-I must be some kind of food freak because although I :lovestruc chocolate, I do not like chocolate cake, ice cream or pudding (although I can tolerate the last 2 when they are swirled w/vanilla) :confused3
Lisa-Thanks for stopping by - my day will be MUCH better now that my computer is working! My work was hit by that worm and I sat around and did NOTHING all morning. Isn't it sad how crippled we become when we can't use our computers?!?
Hi, Amy!
You are doing a great job....stick with it! I know sometimes it is hard to schedule exercise especially when there is sooo much to do! You can do it! BTW-You're meals look great....I think I may make spagetti w/whole wheat noodles...that sounds yummy!
:cheer2:
Ok Amy, just what college did you go to? I know that a friend's daughter will be very interested in finding that ratio! Computer problems? :badpc: At least I'm not alone! Dh bought a new computer & its taken us several months of taking it back to get it to work right. Have fun tonight - drink one for me!
You are doing AWESOME Amy. And MUCH congrats on resisting that cake - BRAVO!!!!!! You done good girl!!!! I am so proud of you. I walked by a guy in my building who is a great guy and we kid around a lot - he's like a foot taller than me and so it's fun to joke with him. Anyway he said - come get a Chunky bar. I love those - or use to - and I looked at him said "No thanks Don". And he said - oh you are good!!!! Are you trying to be good and it felt so great to turn to him and say - YEP!!!! with a smile. So you go girl - let them that you DON'T need your cake and have to eat it too!!!!!!
Keep on :banana: :banana:
Chris
Yesterday was pretty fun! Of course I didn’t even come close to sticking to my game plan… :guilty: I did only have 2 drinks – a Caribbean Daze and a margarita (that one was for you Jane, and it was GOOD!). Since I went to the gym, I did not have time to make dinner. That is probably a good thing because my friends all planned on eating out. We shared dishes, and I didn’t overeat. I didn’t gain any weight this morning, so I must have done OK… :) I had chips w/spicy spinach & artichoke dip, ½ of a carne asada masa enchilada (basically a taco w/a masa “tortilla”) and 1 chicken taco w/cabbage salsa. Everything was REALLY good! Then I stopped at McDonald’s on the way home and got a small swirl cone (I had to get all that spicy taste out of my mouth!). So I’ll be making the spaghetti tonight instead…
B-Yogurt; ½ c. LF Granola; Banana
L- Salad (Romaine, Cheese, LF Dressing); 8 Mini Rice Cakes; DC
S#1-Apple
S#2-Grapes; Pita Chips-n-Hummus; 3 Mini Rice Cakes; 5 Doritoes
D-Wheat Spaghetti w/Meat Sauce; Chocolate Malt Push-Up (90 cal); Butterscotch Disc (20 cal)
WORKOUT-Elliptical (40 min); Walking (10 min)
Daisy-Yes, my workout schedule is so messed up now that the kids are in school and all their sports/activities are starting. At least I now make it a priority and make sure I get to the gym at least 3x a week.
Jane-I went to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Your friend's daughter might be bummed, I think the ratio is now only 4 or 5 guys to every girl...
Chris-Thanks for the kudos! Isn't it great when you can turn down something you once loved and not even think twice about it?!? Yay for us! :cheer2:
Hi Amy,
You did a great job on eating yesterday! Way to go!!!!!!
Hope you are having a great day today!
keep up the good work
So thats where all the guys are hiding out for college! I'll tell her to switch her major to engineering - not many guys at colleges that focus on teaching.
Thanks for the margarita! I've never heard of a Caribean Daze but it sounds almost as good as a Long Island Iced Tea! Your meal sounded delicious.
