AmyT's Journal (Comments Definitely Welcome!)

You dinner sounds great!!!! OMG I just ate lunch and reading that made me hungry again!!!!!

Sorry that you stomach didn't like what you ate. That is the pits!!!!
You have the right attitude about spluring......not feeling guilty! You need that every once in a while!

I hope you have a great time on the elliptical. I love those machines!

In spite of feeling sick it sounds like you had a great time. I haven't had a pina colada since we went to Vegas last year. They are so good. You're really increasing your workouts - elliptical plus pilates plus weights!! Whew! Great job!!

Well, I did 40 minutes on the elliptical, but no Pilates & weights. I was just too beat! My official weigh-in is 137, which is the same exact weight I have been all week. I’ve been weighing myself daily and it hasn’t budged. Am I EVER going to lose another pound? :sad1: Sometimes it doesn’t seem like it! Oh well, I will keep doing what I am doing and not get discouraged. Like I’ve already said, my clothes fit better so I will focus on how good that makes me feel!! :goodvibes

The pork chops were not thawed out in time for dinner so we ended up having grilled turkey-n-cheese sandwiches (and I also ate a can of carrots). DB had chips with his and I was tempted to have some Cheetos, but I didn’t! My dinner was still 2 carbs, 1 protein and 2 veggies, which is the same ratio it would have been if I would have been able to make the pork chops…

This weekend we are going up to our property in northern AZ. We bought a travel trailer and we are going to take it up there tomorrow morning (and leave it). It is a 3 hour drive and I don’t know why, but every time we make the trip I always feel obliged to pig out in the car. Not this time! One thing that stinks though is that I can’t drink my usual amount of water since I don’t want to have to stop every 45 minutes for a potty break. I’ll have to wait until we get there and drink it all then (better find a bush I like!). ;) For today:

B-Yogurt; ½ c. LF Granola; Banana
L-Salad (Romaine, 2 Egg Whites, Cheese, LF Dressing); 17 Soy Crisps; DC
S#1-Apple
S#2-Pineapple
D- Pork Chops; Pasta Roni; Broccoli; 3 Crème Savers
WORKOUT-Treadmill (40 min)

Sat:
B-Egg Beaters; Toast-n-Butter; Cantaloupe
S#1-Grapes (in car)
L-2 LF String Cheese; Carrots; DC
S#2-100 Cal Pack
D-Turkey Sandwich; Apple
WORKOUT-NONE (Yep, I’m going to be a slacker – I’ll probably do some hiking around our 80 acres, but that will be an extra, unplanned bonus!)

Sun:
B-Yogurt; Apple
S#1-Grapes
L-Turkey Sandwich; DC (in car)
S#2-Carrots; 100 Cal Pack
D-Shrimp; Green Beans; Bread-n-Butter; 3 Crème Savers
WORKOUT-NONE (I’m tired of being disappointed when I don’t workout on Sun, therefore I will spare myself and not schedule it!)

It sounds like you have a great plan for the weekend! Have a great trip! :flower:

Amy, don't get so down on yourself. You don't have that much weight to lose so sometimes it can be tougher for it to come off. Don't forget as you're working out your metabolism is increasing & inches are coming off. You can always tell by the way your clothes fit! :flower:

Hey, girl! I'm feeling much, much better! I appreciate your support! :)

Sorry you are discouraged - I was like that last week too!!!! Hope you had a good weekend and I hear you about the water and traveling - that is me too except needing to go every 15 minutes to 1/2 hour sometimes!!!!! ROFL

Keep on
Chris

Well, let's just say I had a great time this weekend, but I DID NOT stick to my plan at all on Saturday and not really on Sunday either! I don't know what happened. I did fine in the car on the way up to camping. I didn't eat a bunch of junk, mainly because I didn't take any junk. But I did eat peanuts, trail mix, mini rice cakes and had 2 Doc's Hard Lemonades. I also made LF rhubarb pecan muffins and ate 2 of those. It was a carb-fest!!! Sunday was a lot better, but I had some more trail mix, 2 more muffins and we had pizza for dinner... I drank tons of water on Sunday, barely any on Saturday.

So yes, I am bummed about my cheat-free, but at the same time I am proud of myself for making it 26 days! I would never have imagined I could have done that before I came to WISH. I don't think I am going to start my cheat-free count over, but I am definitely not going to go back to my old habits. I will still be accountable in my journal for any dietary indiscretions... ;) I am still going to stick to my eating plan, because I still want to get in better shape!

I am going to start posting my actuals. Usually I post my plan and never go back to update if I make a substitution. I'll just go back and edit the previous day if anything has changed. Actuals will be in blue The plan for today:

B-Yogurt; LF Rhubarb Pecan Muffin
L-Salad (Iceburg, 2 Egg Whites, Cheese, LF Dressing); 10 Soy Crisps; DC
S#1-Apple
S#2-Blueberries; 2 SMALL Pieces of Beef Jerky
D-Shrimp Stir-Fry; 1/2 cup Rice Noodles; 1 cup FF ice cream
WORKOUT-Treadmill (40 min); Walking (10 min)

Jane E - You are SO right, everyone says the last 10 lbs is the hardest to lose, and I am trying to lose 10 lbs. Thanks for putting into perspective!

Lisa, lilygator, Chris and Karyn - Thanks for your continuing support! It really helps me get out of the dumps. :grouphug:

Hi Amy,

Don't be too hard on your self. You are still doing a great job! The good thing is that you are holding yourself accountable for what you ate.

Hope your Monday is good!

Keep up the good work

Rhubarb pecan muffins...YUM!!! But hey, if you are going to cheat, GO ALL OUT!! I never liked pecans until a few months ago, and now I can't get enough of them! I give myself a few free days a month to get all of the cravings out of my system. That way I'm not wanting to eat all of those things all of the time. I eat them and that's it. Don't be so hard on yourself. Just pick up where you left off!! :flower:

I had the worst afternoon! It started when I left my windows cracked and it rained A LOT (which is unusual for AZ!). I got to the gym and my clothes were damp (they were in the front seat of the van). Then, about 25 minutes into my treadmill workout, I accidentally hit the STOP button. So I had to add another 15 minutes but I have no idea how far I ran, how many calories, etc. Then I went to the grocery store after working out and the place was PACKED! I actually had to drive around to find an empty parking space (and I’m not afraid to park far and walk, there was just nothing available!). After shopping, I put the groceries in the van and when I shut the hatch, I shut it on my keys. Not only did it leave a huge gouge on the van, it ruined my keyring… ARGH! Mondays should be outlawed!!! I didn't do too bad eating-wise. I updated yesterday's post with my actuals.

I am getting really bored with my menus. I found several recipes from the Mayo Clinic site that fit into my low fat eating plan. It is nice because it actually gives you the portion count (2 carbs, 1 protein, 1 fat, etc). That way I don’t have to guesstimate… I don’t really like to cook, but I am sick of having the same things over and over for lunch & dinner. The plan for today:

B-Yogurt; ½ c. LF Granola; Blueberries
L-Gazpacho; Wheat Crackers; DC
S#1-Banana
S#2-Cantaloupe; 8 Pita Chips w/Hummus
D-Beef Roast; Carrots; Potato (all in Crockpot); Chocolate Malt Push-Up (90 cal); 1 Creme Saver (20 cal)
WORKOUT-Elliptical (40 min); Walking (10 min)

Thanks Jamie and Karyn - I know one bad weekend isn't the end of the world and now I am back on track!!

Bless your heart! What a tough way to start the week! But, now that all of the bad things have happened, the rest of the week will be wonderful!! :daisy:

My kids come back tomorrow, yay!   They start school on Monday. DD6 will have ballet on Mondays and tap on Tuesdays, and DS9 will have Hip Hop on Mondays (I still can’t believe he asked to sign up for this!) and tennis on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And I don’t know DD6’s soccer schedule (won’t know until the end of this month). I know the games will be on Saturdays, but there is always a weekly practice as well… I guess that is the price we pay for having active kids, right? They will be grown up before I know it, I need to remember that and enjoy them while they are young. ::yes::

I updated my meals for yesterday. I did pretty good! I pretty much stuck to my plan and stayed away from the FF ice cream! I shouldn’t have bought it, but I had been craving it and it was on sale. My problem is that I can’t eat a ½ cup serving, I usually eat 1 cup. But if I limit myself to a once or twice a week treat, I think I’ll survive! This particular kind (Dreyer’s FF Chocolate Vanilla Swirl) has 6 grams of fiber per ½ cup serving, so that is a plus! I am not thrilled about the gazpacho I made for lunches. And of course I have a huge bowl (5 servings) left. I hate wasting food, but I don’t think I can eat any more of it! I definitely will not be making that anymore. I’m sure it will take some time to see which new recipes I like and which ones I don’t! For today:

B-Yogurt; ½ c. LF Granola; Banana
L-Salad (Iceberg, 2 Egg Whites, Cheese, LF Dressing); 10 Soy Crisps; DC
S#1-Apple
S#2-Blueberries; Garbanzo Beans
D-Buffalo Chicken; Zucchini; Rice-A-Roni; FF Pudding (70 cal); 1 Creme Saver (20 cal); 1 bite FF Ice Cream (? cal)
WORKOUT-Elliptical (40 min); Walking (10 min)

Hi Amy, haven't posted in here in a long time, been catching up, wow, sounds like you are really doing well on your original goal, losing the snack habit. Isn't it great to really accomplish something like that? That's how I feel about the Dr. P, my positive feeling for kicking the habit totally outweigh any cravings I have for it anymore. Sounds like with your kids coming home you're ready to get back into the swing of things, keep up the good work!!

My kids come back today!!! I really miss them and I will be glad to get back into our regular routine (even as busy as it is!). Yesterday was yet another good day! I wonder what the scale will tell me tomorrow. I want to be able to post a loss, but I don't think I'll make it!! But I think the most important thing is that I have finally stopped obsessive snacking, which really was my downfall. On Tuesday, I actually counted out 8 pita chips, and dipped them each into a little hummus. Before, I would have eaten half the bag of pita chips and half the container of hummus. I have also learned to avoid overeating at restaurants and enjoy things I like in moderation. It is nice to not be obsessed with food anymore, I know I can splurge occasionally and it’s not the end of the world. Plus, my body doesn’t like it when I do that anymore, so splurging will be saved for special occasions only! So, instead of my usual self-pity party because the scale isn’t moving, I am going to have a yay for forming a healthy relationship with food party!!!! :cool1:  :cheer2: :rockband:

No workout today, I have to pick the kids up and take my mom to the airport. We are eating fast food somewhere… The choices are Subway, Quiznos, Wendy’s, Panda Express or McDonalds. I’m sure the kids will want to go to McDonalds since they have a play place. I will probably get a salad from there (Grilled Chicken Bacon Ranch w/LF Dressing OR Fruit-n-Walnut). My mom loves Panda Express, so I’m sure she’ll want to get something from there. I will avoid that place like the plague because all the stuff I like there is the most fattening (orange chicken – yum) and I always eat all the rice, which is probably about 5 servings worth…

B-Yogurt; ½ c. LF Granola; Banana
L- Salad (Romaine, 2 LF String Cheese, LF Dressing); 7 Kettle Corn Rice Cakes; Chocolate Chip Cookie; DC
S#1-Grapes
S#2-Cantaloupe
D@McDonalds-Fruit-n-Walnut Salad; Small Fries; McD Ice Cream Cone
WORKOUT-Walking (10 min)

These are the WW points for Panda Express. If you make good choices, it's really not that bad!! If you have no other choice today, maybe you can find something here that is not so horrible!! I have gone to places and asked them to measure out the amount that is listed so that I don't go over. Good luck!!

How exciting for you that the kids are back!!!! Are you doing anything fun before they go back to school??

I knew that you would be able to kick the obsessive snacking.....feels great to overcome that huh??? You should be proud of yourself...I am!!!

keep up the good work Amy!!!! You really are going a great job

Amy, even when you "cheat" you eat better than I do. You had rhubarb pecan muffins - I had Milk Duds! You ate FF ice cream - I had hot fudge sundaes. I have the same problem with Bryers Ice Cream that you have with Dreyers. If I buy a gallon - I'll eat 1/2 of it in no time. Because of that, I hadn't bought Breyers in 6 months at least! This time, I kept telling myself since it was for company - it was ok. Live & Learn!

So glad that your kids are back home. With school starting on Monday along with all of their activities you'll be busy! Congrats on sticking with your workouts & watching those calories. It won't be long!

Well, today was my official weigh-in and.... (drum roll).... I am at 137!!!!!!!!! The same weight I have been for how many weeks now? I don't know, but I think I deserve an award for consistency... Unbelievable! I didn't know I could weigh so much and still wear Size 6, but I am living proof it can happen. I have some Size 8 shorts on and they are too loose, and that is cooler than whatever number that scale spits out, right?

I kinda fell apart at McDonalds last night. I had the Fruit-n-Nut Salad, but my kids each only ate 1/2 their fries, so I ate probably the equivalent of a small (kid's pack) fries. Oops! And I had a swirl cone, which was very small. I guess it's not too bad, I just try to avoid fries. Oh, and at work yesterday I had a chocolate chip cookie! It was HEAVENLY, I hadn't had one in so long! I savored every bite, it was a nice treat!

I took the kids to meet their teachers and get their passports for our Disney cruise (it's not until March but I'm not taking any chances!). I did get my Pilates workout in this morning before the little darlings woke up. I should do some weights, but I have to get my hair cut in about an hour, so who knows?!? Today's plan:

B-Egg Beaters; Banana
L-Grilled Turkey-n-Cheese; 1 can Peas-n-Carrots; Blueberries; DC
S#1-Pineapple
D-3 Homemade Tacos; 1.5 cups FF Ice Cream (270 cal!); Popcorn (? cal!)
WORKOUT-Pilates (40 min); Walking (20 min)
