AmyT's Journal (Comments Definitely Welcome!)

Hi Amy,
I hope you are having a fantastic Cinco Di Mayo in Mexico! Have a Marguarita and enjoy your vacation! :sunny:

I'm back!!!!! As always I had all the best intentions, and as always they flew out the window the second we crossed the border... I didn't make it to the gym Friday morning - there was just too much to do! I drank too much and ate too much and have 4lbs to show for it. But they will be gone by the end of the week - they always are! :teeth:

Exercise-wise I did get in a 1/2 hr walk on the beach Friday, an hour walk on the beach Saturday as well as 1/2 hr (at least) of ocean kayaking. I won't be able to get to the gym until Wednesday this week since we got back late and I have to go grocery shopping today, plus DS has an early game.

So now I am all fired up and ready to go! I don't have any more trips until the end of June when we go to MI. I am more determined than ever to get in the best shape I can before I go visit all my relatives. I want to be toned and love being in my swimsuit. I can do it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane, ya, that parent was a little obnoxious. Apparently the parent who filled in for DH on Friday changed everything around (and pitched his son, who never pitched a game all season, plus put his son (who has struck out 50% of the time) as the first batter). But they won, so the kids were happy. I was not happy because he let DS be catcher and he didn't have a cup on. That is against the rules, not to mention stupid. Luckily he didn't get hit there...
Marie, I am serious about flipping the scale off. DH thinks it's pretty amusing.
Erin, I have never heard of Harsen's Island. My grandparents used to live in Holly and of course we all had season passes to Mt. Holly. That's one thing I miss - skiing! It is awesome exercise.
Jamie, the trip was great! However, I wish I could have taken today off work so I can get caught up on all the stuff that didn't get done (like laundry, grocery shopping, etc).
Chris, Mackinac Island is really nice. Hopefully the weather will be a little more cooperative this time. There are no motorized vehicles allowed and you can take horse-drawn carriage tours or rent bikes to ride around. And they are famous for their fudge. Oops, I think I just gained a pound thinking about it! :confused3
Anna, I think I had a margarita for every single person on the WISH board. Yep, that many... :rolleyes1
Kate, the trip was fun. We always wish we had just one more day. When we go back on October, we will be staying an extra day, plus taking the kids so my liver will get a much needed break from tequila...
Welcome back, Amy!! :welcome: Glad you had such a good time on your trip. Congrats for fitting in the exercise! Whew! Your minutes are hard to keep up with!
Welcome back Amy!!! Glad to hear that you had a good time!!!
Those four pounds will be gone before you know it!!!
Hope you are having a great day!
Happy Tuesday :)
I did not go to the gym yesterday, but I did great with my eating! :banana: The only thing I could have done without was the 2 licorice twists at lunch. But it was 60 calories for both and I didn’t have a carb to go with my lunch, so I figured it evened out… I made it to the grocery store before DS’s game (they are now 8-5-1), so now I have stuff for healthy lunches and snacks. I swear, I need to go to Anger Management for Boy’s Sports. :furious: I was SO MAD at DH because they lost the game due to what I consider his poor decisions. And I couldn’t believe I got so mad. :confused3 It’s Little League! I was more ticked off because he let the pitcher walk/give up 6 runs in a single inning and when DS was pitching a couple games ago, he pulled him after he allowed 2 runs. They lost 8-6, so that made a HUGE difference in the outcome of the game. I’m over it now, but I was really surprised that I had that kind of reaction. I can honestly say that is the first time I have ever been mad at DH, in the 3.5 years we've been together. Scary... The kids didn’t seem to care that they lost, so that’s all that matters, right? I drank 100oz of water, 2 cups green tea and a Diet Tangerine Rite:
6:15am: Egg Beaters w/FF Cheddar; Oatmeal
8:30am: Balance Bar
11:45am: Shake-n-Bake Pork Chop; Cauliflower; Licorice Twists (2)
2:30pm: Egg Whites (2); LF String Cheese; Pear
5:30pm: Grape Nuts Trail Mix Crunch (1/2c); FF Yogurt (3/4c); Almonds (1.2oz)
8:30pm: Root Beer Float Bar
WORKOUT: Walking (40min)
RESISTED: Cheez-Its
Jane, I am scraping by on the exercise minutes. I should be able to get back on track starting tomorrow. It might be tough to make my goal since it is getting too hot to walk, even in the mornings. But I think I can do it!
Jamie, 3 of the 4 Mex pounds are already gone. Maybe if I behave again today the other one will disappear and I will have a decent weigh-in tomorrow!
Sorry about the baseball game, Amy. Its tough when you see your kids working hard and not winning. Its great that you're there for them. Its also nice that your husband coaches. That can be a thankless job.
Way to go with the eating! :teeth:
Glad you had such a great weekend and you still got in lots of exercise too! It is great you got right back on track yesterday and even better that the scale showed you a pay off!
Kids Sports. Breath in, Breath out. At least the kids didn't care about the loss.
Have a great week!
I knew those Mexico pounds would fly off!!
Maybe I need some of those, because these American pounds I have just won't let go!!
Amy, you are doing so good!! How much have you lost total so far?
(oh man...there are those root beer float bars again.....darn you!!)
Welcome back, Amy!
It's wonderful the Mexico weight is almost gone already! You are too awesome!!
Have a great rest of the week!!
Today’s weigh-in was 138. :cool1: That’s cool because that is what I weighed on Friday before we went to Mexico! :thumbsup2 I wasn’t counting on that weight to be gone until the end of the week, so I am happy. :goodvibes Now I just need to keep behaving with my food intake so I can start getting rid of some of the body fat covering up all my hard-earned muscles! I was pretty hungry all day since I had to skip breakfast (our company did a free cholesterol/blood sugar screening and I had to fast for 12 hours). But I made up for the lack of breakfast by having a pre-dinner ice cream cone from Dairy Queen… :guilty: DD’s dance studio moved, and at the old place there was room to sit and read while she was in class. This new place is tiny and there is no room. Unfortunately it is right by DQ and I caved… I didn’t want to sit there reading without ordering anything. Next time I will have to get some willpower and just order a Diet Coke! Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 2 cups green tea, 12oz iced green tea and a DC:
9:00am: FF Cottage Cheese; Banana
11:30am: Turkey-n-Provolone on Wheat; Carrots
3:20pm: Egg Whites (3); LF String Cheese; Pear
5:30pm: Almonds (1.2oz); Small Vanilla Soft-Serve Cone (which was pretty darn big for a small!)
7:00pm: Beef Roast; Carrots; Red Potato (crockpot); 10 Goldfish
8:30pm: 5 SF Werthers (40cal); 1/4c Cookie Crisp (50cal) :sad2:
WORKOUT: Walking (40min)
RESISTED: More Goldfish; More Cookie Crisp
Jane, I agree - coaching is a thankless job, which is why I felt extra bad about getting on DH's case... I don't even know what some of the kid's parents look like because they are never at the games! I always make a point to go unless I really can't avoid missing it. I feel sorry for those other kids whose parents don't seem to care if they watch them or not.
Anna, I hear ya! I usually don't get mad like that, I don't know what was going on. I think I was still ticked off because DS had gotten in trouble at the after school program so I was already in a foul mood. There is another game tonight, I promise I'll behave! At least I wasn't getting beligerent and yelling at the players, ump, etc. I was just letting it boil up inside... :rolleyes1
Kate, thanks! I wish I could be a professional beach bum, but I have grown accustomed to eating and having clothes, etc...
Marie, don't feel bad - my American pounds won't come off either! And since I joined WISH last June, my total weight loss has been a staggering ZERO lbs. Yep, I've managed to maintain my highest weight ever (besides pg weight) for almost a year. So basically I am in no position to give anyone advice since obviously I don't know what I'm doing... :blush:
Julie, thanks so much! It's good to be back (well, not really... :teeth: )
Hi Amy,
Congrats on all the Mexico pounds being gone!!! The rest will come off in no time!
I too would have caved for ice cream....YUM! DQ!!!! I know the next time you will have the willpower to order a diet coke as you plan on!!!
Keep up the good work!
Happy Wednesday :)
You may not have lost any pounds, but you know you are much healthier than you were last year, and i'm sure you've lost inches and gained muscle! Also, you DO know what you're doing and I'll take your advice any day of the week!!
And thanks for not hunting me down and beating me senseless about the Exercise Challenge. :guilty:
Hi Amy, glad you had a great trip and your Mexican pounds came off! For some reason, I thought your trip was later this month :confused3 . In any case Welcome Home, if you are like me you aren't ready to be back! Don't worry about being upset about the baseball game, we moms are a feisty bunch! Keep up the good work!
I made my plane reservations for our November cruise! :banana: I feel bad because I used my FF miles to buy my ticket and I ended up getting 1st Class on the way there (for the same # of miles as a Coach seat – it was all they had left), while DH is stuck back in Coach… :guilty: Luckily our friends that are going with us will be sitting next to him. On the way back we will be sitting together. I think I might be the meanest wife ever! :rolleyes1
I am officially done with lunchtime walks until October or so. :sad2: I am bummed because it was a nice break and let me clear my thoughts, etc. But I always take the summer off, so it’s nothing new. If I make it to the gym every scheduled time for the rest of the month I will be able to barely squeak by on my exercise goal. Next month I will have to shoot for a lower number since I won’t be getting that extra 200 minutes per week anymore!
DS won his game last night, so I didn’t have a temper tantrum. That was their last late game. They only have 2 games left! :cheer2: And DS is still asking to take piano lessons, so I think I will sign him up pretty soon. There is a person right down the street who does it at her house. Very convenient! I did very good eating yesterday – no ice cream, Goldfish or cereal. I could have done without the 10pm snack, but I didn't get to eat my pudding before we left for the game... I drank 100oz of water, 2 cups green tea, 20oz iced green tea and a Diet Tangerine Rite:
6:20am: Egg Beaters w/FF Cheddar; Oatmeal
9:00am: FF Cottage Cheese; Cantaloupe
11:30am: Turkey-n-Provolone on Wheat; Carrots
2:30pm: Egg Whites (3); LF String Cheese; Apple
6:00pm: Chicken; Wheat Spaghetti; Almonds (1.2oz); 5 SF Werthers (40cal)
10:00pm: SF/FF Pudding (70cal)
WORKOUT: Walking (50min); Weights (30min); Elliptical (35min)
RESISTED: Cheez-Its; More Spaghetti
Jamie, I'll need some extra willpower next Tuesday so I can resist the evil calling of DQ! It IS possible to go in and just order a Diet Coke. That will be my chant next week...
Marie, I choose my battles wisely. I'm sure you will deserve that senseless beating for something else, so I'll save it for another time... :teeth:
Amy, isn't coming back from vacation the pits? If there were some way I could just live on a beach and still enjoy my current way of life, I'd be all over it! Guess I should start playing Powerball or invent something...
I JUST WANT EVERYONE ON THE DIS BOARDS TO KNOW WHAT A WONDERFUL, INCREDIBLE, AWSOME PERSON AMY FROM ARIZONA IS!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
She went to the trouble to help me get back on track w/ the Exercise Challenge!! No, she won't do it for the rest of you because she doesn't feel sorry for you!! :teeth: (ya'll don't whine as much as I do!! :guilty: )
Anyway, THANK YOU AMY!!! YOU'RE MY NEW BEST FRIEND!! :grouphug:
also, congrats on the win last night!
marie
Amy, glad to hear that ds's team won!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I don't know where my brain was at yesterday. I never saw your post from yesterday until today. I'm losing it!
Sorry to hear that your daughter's dance studio does not have sitting room for you to watch. Thats no fun - no wonder why you caved at the DQ!
Have fun flying first class! Those miles ought to fly by after a couple glasses of champagne!
Amy, you're continuing to do well!!
Glad DS won, and you MUST find something to do while DD is at dance. Can you go shopping somewhere? That would be much better than DQ!! :sunny:
