AmyT's Journal (Comments Definitely Welcome!)

Packing one week early is definitely not crazy! I'm usually packed two weeks in advance so I make sure I have what I need. I'm actually going out of town for a couple of nights next week and I want to pull out the bag and load it with my and DH's clothes but he glares when I try to do that. He's definitely a morning of packer and it drives me batty. :) I hope you have a ton of fun and ENJOY it!!

I finally had a good food day! :cool1: No snacking, no grazing, no taste-testing! :banana: Part of it was because I was so busy (DD’s tap class). And the most important reason was because I kept referring back to the list of motivating statements that I jotted down while reading the BFLW book. It really does help. ::yes:: The book says that all your best intentions will fall apart in the evening, and that is SO right (for me anyway)! Once I can get control of my evenings, I am really going to see some positive results. I am not overly worried about the cruise – I won’t be snacking all evening, which is a big improvement. :rolleyes: I’ll be eating a healthy breakfast (DH and I decided we will eat a sit-down breakfast every morning instead of the buffet), fruit for snacks, a Balance Bar for lunch, and a nice dinner with dessert. We are going to take some bottled water and I will also try to get in my daily 100oz (always tough to do on vacation!) and use the stairs instead of the elevators. As long as I am 135-138 when I come back, I will be a happy camper. Yesterday I got in 100oz of water; 2 cups green tea; a Minute Maid Light; a DC:

6:15am: Chocolate Oatmeal
8:30am: Balance Bar
11:45am: Chicken; Wheat Pasta; Carrots
2:45pm: FF Cottage Cheese; Blueberry Bran Cake
6:45pm: Homemade Turkey Pepperoni Pizza (2 slices); Yellow Squash; FF Yogurt
8:30pm: 1 Samoa GS Cookie (yes, JUST ONE! I savored every tiny little bite) :cheer2:
WORKOUT: Walking (40min)
RESISTED: More GS Cookies; Almonds
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane, usually I am not tempted by beef jerky either, but I wanted something and did not want to tempt myself with the almonds... I am SO proud of myself for eating only 1 cookie! I told myself that I had been great all day and that would be my 1 little treat. :cloud9:
Beth, I can't believe it's only 3 days away!!!!!!!!! :jumping1:
Hi there,
You did so good yesterday...no snacking...way to go!!!!
Turkey pepperoni....is that pretty good? Never even heard of that?
I can so relate with you on the GS cookies. I have a box sitting in the pantry and I know they are there, but I try very hard to stay away. It is soo hard....knowing they are there is so hard.
When we are getting close to vacationing at Disney, I am the only one in the house that acts totally crazy too. I am just like that little kid on the disney commerical that says" we're too excited to sleep"....so I totally understand what you are going through!!!!
Have a great day! Keep up the awesome work!
I have 2 boxes of GS cookies, Oreos and Fig Newton in the cabinet and I REFUSE to even open the door!! Of course, give me a few chocolate whoppers and I'm history!! :teeth:
Sorry, but I'm getting sad about your cruise!! What if I fall off the "wagon" and need my motivators? I might just have to bust out the Oreos and blame it on you for leaving!! :guilty:
3 days away huh....i'm jealous!! You'll be out there having a good ol' time while the rest of us are back here sweating and starving...(am I making you feel bad yet??)
I'm kidding...here's pixiedust: for a great, safe trip!
Amy, if I get busy and don't get back here in the next few days - Have a Wonderful Trip!!! :goodvibes
:banana: Congrats on the great eating!! :banana: You're going to look awesome for your cruise.
You hit the nail on the head when you said that our eating habits fall apart in the evening. That describes me perfectly. Its good to hear that the motivating statments work. I'm going to have to get that book next month, write down the motivators & memorize them!
I had another great day yesterday! :woohoo: I was right on track and am finally getting back into the right frame of mind. That is the key to success! This will be my last journal entry until I get back (I hope to get back online Sunday, March 19). I will be taking a little notebook with me on the cruise so I can journal all my food and exercise. Don’t worry, I won’t post everything when I come back - that would be a REALLY long entry… :rolleyes1 When I come back I will be starting a new 12 week BFL cycle, but this time using the BFLW eating plan. It’s a little stricter than BFL (with portion sizes) and I think that is what I need. I am starting my vacation at 135 (at least that is what I was this morning, I’m sure it will be the same tomorrow). Yesterday I drank 100oz of water; 2 cups green tea; a DC:
6:15am: Egg Beaters w/FF Cheddar; Oatmeal
10:00am: Balance Bar
12:15pm: Chicken; Wheat Spaghetti; Carrots
2:30pm: FF Cottage Cheese; Carrots w/Hummus
6:30pm: Chicken; Sweet Potato; Cauliflower; FF Yogurt
8:30pm: 1 Samoa
WORKOUT: Walking (40min); Weights (30min); Treadmill (30min)
RESISTED: Pop Tarts (while packing kids’ lunches); More GS Cookies
Jamie, the turkey pepperoni is great! It is so much less greasy than regular pepperoni and with all the spices, you can't even taste the difference.
Marie, you will have to come give me some extra support when I come back as a beached whale from eating all the yummy food onboard... :rolleyes: Stay away from those Whoppers!
Kate, thanks, I am pretty sure this trip is going to be awesome!
Jane, the book is really helpful. It tackles the emotional side really well. I think you'd really get something out of it!
I will "talk" to all of you soon! Behave while I'm gone!!! :goodvibes
Hi Amy,
See you when you get back!!!!
Hi Amy-
I just know you are having a wonderful time!!!!
I totally relate to falling off the wagon in the afternoons and evenings. I'm with you, if I could get that aspect of my diet under control I'd have it made.
Can't wait to hear all about your trip!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:
Amy.....
I gained 2#'s!!! I hope you're having fun!! :rolleyes:
:drinking1 :dancer: :rockband: :cake: I bet that you had a wonderful cruise!!! The music, the drinking, the sightseeing, the food!!! Welcome back!
Thanks everyone! The cruise was AWESOME!!!! And of course with all the memories I brought back 8 not-so-Magical pounds... :eek: :scared: :scared1: But OH WELL, it was worth it! Actually, I gained most of it the last 2 days, so I know it will come off pretty quickly once I get back into my regular routine. I left on Friday at 134 and weighed in this morning at 142. :confused3 I bet by the end of the week I'll be at 137 or hopefully less. I did manage to work out twice on the ship, so I added 90 minutes to my exercise total. It's gonna be tough to make my goal this month. Hopefully I will have a very short recovery time from my surgery on Wednesday and be able to get back into full workout mode next week. I'll have to play that by ear. Just checking in, I hope to get back and catch up on everyone's journals later today (while doing load after load of laundry! :rolleyes: )
Hey Amy, how was the cruise? :sail: The food must've been good! I agree, that weight will melt off of you in no time. Congrats for the workout during your trip. :thumbsup2 Thats dedication.
I ordered the EFL book. I decided I can't cook without it. My library loan is about up - I've had it for almost 6 weeks. Since I love the recipes so much I decided I may as well buy it. Hopefully it'll arrive before my library book is due back. I love how quick and easy the recipes are.
I also netflixed the BFL for women dvd. I need to get more serious about my eating. I'm not BFLing with all of my meals. I flipped thru the EFL book tonight page by page picking up ideas. I just noticed the B&A's in the back. Reading their results motivated me. My typical day of eating looks more like their Befores.
Sending prayers & pixie dust your way for the surgery. pixiedust:
AMY!!!
I can't wait to hear all about your trip. I'm so glad you had such a good time!!
I hope your surgery goes well and that you heal quickly. :) I bet you're right about that cruise weight coming right off.
