AmyT's Journal (Comments Definitely Welcome!)

I think that's a very reasonable price for getting your hair done especially since she's coming to you. Most salons in Southern California charge that much.

You're doing great! Keep it up!

Great job getting the workout in.

I agree with Alison that your hairdresser's rate seems reasonable. At the Regis Salon at the mall the hairdressers charge $35 per haircut. You were smart booking someone to come to your house. Thats one less thing for you to worry about.

You did great doing the pilates in the evening. Its so much more difficult trying to fit workouts in after dinner. I hear ya on the cashews - fortunately thats not a trigger food for me, but I can relate to chocolate covered almonds!

Hi Amy,

You are doing a great job! Way to go on getting your workout in after dinner....that is always tough for me!!

Keep up the good work and have a wonderful Tuesday!

That seems like a great rate for someone who's coming to your house to do your hair. When I got married this summer I paid over 100 for hair and makeup. Congratulations by the way!!!!! Have a super time-your guests will have a great time!

My weigh-in this morning was a non-surprising 135… I got my walk in, but that was about it. One thing that totally ticked me off – I brought in my old workout shoes to wear during my lunchtime walks and the stupid things gave me a blister on my right heel!! These are the shoes I used to work out in! Guess I need new walking shoes… Eating was sad, too much mindless snacking... :guilty: I am getting excited about Friday!!! I made the hair appointment, I’m sure it will turn out really nice. I always say I am going to post pictures, I will definitely do one of us all decked out for the wedding. Who knows when I’ll finally have time, but it will happen eventually, I promise! Totals (1691 cal; 80oz water; 2 cups green tea):

B-Raisin Bran Crunch (1c); Skim Milk (1/2c); Banana (1/2)

S#2-FF Cottage Cheese (1/2c); LF String Cheese; Orange Cranberry Muffin (3/4); Goldfish (25)
D(crockpot)-Beef Stroganoff (1c); Wheat Noodles (1/2c); Cashews (1/3c); Lucky Charms (1/4c); Crème Savers (3)

RESISTED-Banana Bread (or something like it) in the breakroom; Pumpkin Pie, not much else since I ate a bunch of junk... :rolleyes1

Allison, thanks for the info! I made the appointment, I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Jane, I am nuts about any kind of nuts except walnuts and pecans. Anything else, watch out, I can consume 500 calories worth in 2 minutes or less... :sad2:

Jamie, thanks! Evening workouts ARE tough, which is why I didn't succeed in exercising last night... :blush:

Beth, thanks! I know it will be a blast. I just hope it isn't too cold since I have a sleeveless dress! :cold:

I can't wait to see some pictures!! Try not to stress and don't forget to ENJOY YOURSELF!!! I have a tendency to build things up to a point that I don't take time to have fun when it comes. Try to relax!! Are you honeymooning anywhere?

What kind of wheat noodles do you buy? Do they taste really good? I looked at some the other night at Walmart and couldn't decide on which ones to pick.

Well, I can’t wait for the wedding to be over with so I can stop this stress eating! :scared: I ate a cookie last night, and while I was eating it, I was telling myself that I shouldn’t be eating it. But did I throw it out? No… Dumb, dumb dumb!!! :mad: And I didn’t get to go to the gym, since I had to work 1.5 hours late last night. Hopefully I will be able to get off early today, since we have a million things to get done before tomorrow. The good news, I tried on my dress and it still looks nice, so no harm done. Also, my weight is the same but I need to stop snacking when I am not even hungry! I can find some positive – I grabbed the bag of cashews twice – then put them away without eating a single one! :cool1: So I did better than I could have I guess… (1637 cal; 80oz water; 2 cups green tea):

Karyn, I'm sure I will have a blast. As soon as the ceremony is over and I have a glass of champagne in my hand, I will be stress-free. We are doing a mini honeymoon in Vegas for a couple days after Christmas. Next year we are going on a Disney cruise (w/kids) in March and a Norwegian cruise (no kids) in November, so that will be a belated honeymoon. But I always wanted to go to Fiji and/or Tahiti, so I told DF he owes me one...

I buy Rozoni wheat pasta and Barilla also makes a whole grain one. Both are great with lots of fiber. I can't tell the difference in taste.

I hope you can get through today without snacking. I'm sure you can! Can't wait for the wedding pictures!

I can't believe its the day before your wedding! Just concentrate on having fun. I'm so glad that the dress fits you so well. Have a great time in Vegas! I've loved every vacation we've ever had there.

Congrats Amy!!!!

I'm sure you are off enjoying yourself, as you should be. :) I'm so happy for you!!!

Hi everyone! Just a quick note to tell you the ceremony went GREAT and the party was a blast! Everyone had a good time. My beautiful DD stole the show. We are getting high speed internet installed tonight!!! So I will test it out by uploading some pictures.

I was so happy because on Friday I weighed in at 133. :cool1: But after this weekend's festivities, I weigh more than that right now... :confused3 But I know most of it is water and plus it is pre-TOM bloat week. I'm not too worried about it. :rolleyes:

I am swamped at work, but I hope to get online later tonight. :goodvibes

Here are a couple wedding pictures. Of course I am biased, but I think my DD6 looked absolutely beautiful!

Yesterday was OK. I had to work late, so no gym. Then I had to go grocery shopping, so no exercise DVD... I will count it as my transition day to getting back on track... :rolleyes1 I ate some junk I know I shouldn't have. :rolleyes: DH took the cake to work, so I don't have to worry about that anymore! And I am disgusted enough with myself that I am going to do great again starting today! We're talking measuring portions, working out and sticking to my FitDay plan. I don't know how many calories I consumed yesterday, but I did get in 80oz of water:

B-Wheat Bagel w/Cream Cheese; FF Yogurt
L@Class-Turkey Sandwich; DC
S#1-Chocolate Chip Cookie (insanely large)
S#2-Cheetos (straight out of the bag, I have no idea how many :guilty: )
D-2 Homemade Tacos; Creme Savers (3); Wedding Cake (large slice)
WORKOUT-Walking (10min)

Today is a new day! And I have to kick some serious booty if I am going to make my exercise goal! I figured I need 70 minutes PER DAY, EVERY DAY if I am going to make it! I have successfully met every exercise challenge since July, I don't want to ruin my streak now... I can do it! :cheer2:

Amy, you look beautiful in those pictures. I love the black dress. Its so elegant. What a beautiful family you have. Best wishes & congrats on your wedding. All that and you weighed 133 for the ceremony!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Gorgeous family!! And look at you, looking all svelte at 133 pounds! I have been "off" all week with my eating. I'm getting lazy about measuring and I can tell by how my clothes fit!

You can get back on track for the honeymoon coming up! :cool1: That's something to work towards! :sunny:

I did it!!! I got a good day under my belt! :cool1: I think I finally got the junk food obsession out of my system. I set a goal for myself. I want to be 125 by my cruise (March). Today’s weigh-in was 136. :rolleyes: I’m not thrilled about it, but considering it’s almost TOM and all the extras I’d been eating, I am not surprised. I want to lose 1 lb per week. I hope I can manage that! Totals (1276cal; 80oz water; 2 cups green tea):

B-Kashi Crunch (3/4c); FF Yogurt; Clementine
L-Turkey-n-Cheddar Sandwich (1/2); Romaine (2c); Cheese (1/8c); LF Dressing (2tbsp); LF String Cheese; Goldfish (30); Clementine; DC
S#1-Apple
S#2-FF Cottage Cheese (1/2c)
D(crockpot)-Beef Roast (4oz); Potato (1 red); Carrots (5 mini); Crème Savers (4)
WORKOUT-Walking (40min); Weights (30min); Elliptical (25min)
RESISTED-Cookies in breakroom (the soft sugar ones with green frosting); Russell Stover Chocolates (actually had the box in my hand and put it back)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane and Karyn, thanks for the compliments! :blush: Yes, I weighed 133 for the ceremony, but ballooned up shortly afterwards... :rolleyes1 C'est la vie!!
What is it about the holidays that makes people want to bring food into work?!? There were donut holes in the breakroom yesterday, but fortunately I just walked right past them. :cheer2: I had to take DS to the orthodontist, so no gym. But I did get in my walk and my Pilates DVD. I am VERY proud of that because I didn’t do the workout until 7pm and I basically forced myself into it. :banana: Have you bought cold medicine lately? I bought some Children’s Nyquil at Target yesterday and I could not believe the red tape I had to go through! I had to take the card to the pharmacy to get the medicine, show my driver’s license and sign a paper. :confused3 The totals (1289cal; 80oz water; 2 cups green tea):
B-Oatmeal; FF Yogurt; Clementine
L-Romaine (2c); Cheese (1/8c); LF Dressing (2tbsp); Turkey-n-Swiss Sandwich (1/2); Egg Whites (3); Goldfish (30); Clementine; DC
S#1-Apple
S#2-FF Cottage Cheese (1/2c)
D-Wheat Spag (1c); Sauce (1/2c); Meatballs (3); Crème Savers (3)
WORKOUT-Walking (40min); Pilates Sculpt (55min)
RESISTED-Krispy Kreme Donut Holes; Tootsie Rolls (twice)
Amy, I can't believe how many exercise minutes you've gotten in so far. Congrats on working so hard these past couple of months. You've done an awesome job between eating & working out. It won't be long until you hit the 120's!
I can't believe what you had to do to buy Nyquil. I'm so glad that my kids are grown. I can't imagine how complicated things are getting. When my kids were sick we always used Dimetapp - but its probably very similiar to Nyquil. There was a daycare center where they routinely drugged the kids with dimetapp so they'd sleep. Apparently, one of the babies died because of the drugging. The owner would go to one of the superstores, like Cosco, and buy over 50 bottles at a time. Now, the rest of us can't buy one bottle without jumping thru hoops. I hope your kids get feeling better. Its not fun to be sick with all of the holidays coming up.
