Hi Amy
Hope you made WI
Sorry your having bad weather!!
Hope you get some sunshine for the weekend!

Hi Amy,

Just stopping by to say hello. Hope you had a good weigh in. Have a great weekend. :goodvibes

Jennifer

Thank you so much Tracey, Tracy, Jennifer and Jamie.

I did make weigh in on Wednesday, I was down 1.8 so all but .2 of my 2 pound gain is gone. I have done really well until yesterday. Total diet disaster. I had Burger King for lunch then we had friends over for a bbq and I ended up having way too many cocktails, a bunch of chips and salsa and peanuts. I ate very little dinner, a few bites of steak, a few roasted potatoes and some salad because by then I was so full of salt and rum and diet cokes I had no room left. Woke up this morning and the scale is saying I am up four pounds. I have so far drunk a bunch of water and did have two small brownies (leftover from last night) which I have now thrown out along with all the leftover chips and peanuts.

These weekends just kill me. I do very well all week and then blow it on the weekend. I know I used up all my flex points plus more (alot more probably) so that means no loss very likely this week. And I have not exercised but once. Just totally mad at myself. I have three days counting today to get back on track before weigh in. I just don't know how I can do so well so often then totally lose it other times. I resisted pizza this week and all kinds of other things but yesterday just had no willpower whatsoever. I have to do better with surviving these weekends.

We are planning on taking a hike up in the foothills today so that will be good. I just really wanted to be at 45 total (12 pounds to go) by June 16 and see no way that can happen now. I cannot live through another six month long plateau like I started last summer. I basically lost six months to that which really deflates me now even though I got off of it, lost the 8 pounds I gained back etc. Just can't let that happen again.

I think one of the things that is really wreaking havoc is my perimenopausal state. Which I think may now be all out menopause. I am only 42 but have been doing this for 9 years now, and this is by far the worse I have felt. Its getting better, I am taking some different vitamins but dr. won't put me on hormone therapy due to the breast cancer thing in my family. But some days I want to scream, pig out and bust dh's chops to the point I hate myself. Dr. said rub this progesterone cream on thighs which did nothing at all. So I am giving this a few more months and then I will be going back in to say I need something done. The last week has been better on that front, so hopefully things are settling down a bit. OMG if its not one female problem making me crazy, its another!

Thanks for reading my longwinded rant. :sad2: :scared:

I wanted to ask you.... Didn't you and your family do the dining plan last year? Any tips or secrets you want to share?

Tracy, forgot to answer this one! Yes we did the DDP in December and will be doing it again in October. I have mixed feelings, but my hubby and kids love it. Its a great deal (esp. if its free) but OMG its an insane amount of food. Frankly, I like the buffets the best, lots of nice salads and fruits and you can monitor how much you take. For some reason I did better on those. It just gets to be a lot to get an appetizer, entree and dessert, plus the cs meals (which are huge) and a snack. I got where I didn't order an appetizer for all of us (my kids are adults by WDW standards so this just added to the insane volume of food), shared desserts and used virtually all of our snack credits for water bottles. Also, didn't get dessert for each of our cs meals. Just either didn't order it or in a couple of cases asked the person behind me or near me if they would like a free piece of cake!

So basically, its fun, its over the top, its a great deal and you don't have to eat all the food they offer you. And the walking you do at the parks really helps balance it out too.

 Amy,

Congratulations on losing 1.8 pounds this week! That is wonderful!:cool1:

I understand your frustration about weekends. I find that I do much better during the week with my food choices. Keep on keeping on! You CAN do this, Amy!:cheer2:

I hope you have a great week!:cool1: Thanks for the info on the dining plan.:goodvibes

Hi Amy,

Congrats on losing 1.8 pounds...that is awesome. I too have troubles with the weekends. I don't know why, but I do. It has to get better.....

You are doing great, don't let the weekend get you down. You may still lose the weight before you leave in June....

Keep up the great work!

Have a wonderful day :)

Congrats on the loss! I am the queen of blowing it on the weekends, that is why I can never lose anything! I just hover around the same weight, lose a couple lbs during the week, gain it back during the weekend, and the cycle continues... :confused3 At least you are actually LOSING in the long run!

Don't let it get you down, you'll get back on track. You are brave doing the DDP. We are not doing it when we go in Dec, it's just too much food and I didn't want to be tied to reservations.

Hang in there, your trip is so close! Who cares if you don't make your self-imposed goal, you'll get there even if it isn't by your chosen date! You've still lost an awful lot of weight, remember that. And I think you are finally to the point where you won't get into another 6 month plateau.

Bummer about the hormones, it's just a wonderful part of being a woman!

Hi Amy
Another diser here who has no will power at weekends!!!
At least your not alone girl!! ;)
Go harass the dr, no point suffering, hope you get sorted :goodvibes
 way to go on the loss, congrats:thumbsup2 :cool1: :woohoo:
Take care

Thanks everybody. I have been doing so so at best with my food. Eating too many carbs. I have been getting in my veggies, fiber and plenty of water (100 + oz. each day). No exercise all week, totally disgusted with that. Went to go on our hike and then realized it would be a sea of mud up there given last weeks storm. So maybe this weekend instead.

No special plans this weekend which should help with my efforts not to overeat to such extreme. \

WW is tomorrow, doubt I will make it, dd is off track and is having a friend over tonight. I really don't feel like dragging this other kid to my meeting. If she leaves by 10:30 I can make the later one at least.

Just feeling so blah, really ready for dd to start back to school so that I can start walking outside again by myself. Having her home is fun but sort of wrecks my routine. I guess I better prepare, ds will be out of school starting the Monday after Memorial Day for three months. But he can stay home alone and is just more self sufficient. DD has to have friends over, do this, do that which is great but since I am not the most disciplined person in the world, having my routine funky just seems to put my pathetic self over the edge.

Amy: I know I won't get in another six month slump. I can't its too disheartening! This one is on week three right now and thats quite enough thank you very much! I don't want to do the DDP, don't want to pay for it and eat that much, but I have been outvoted! We've been to WDW seven times now and frankly my favorite trips have been the wing it with cs trips. Oh well, at least I'll get my fill of shrimp cocktail and creme brulee!

Tracey: Weekends are just too much fun huh? Least I know I am not alone!

Jamie: Thanks, I do have six full weeks to get back on track and maybe lose another 5-10 pounds. Not only do I want to do that for vacation, I want a new Wish Clippie!

Tracy: Thanks for always being so sweet and supportive!

Hi Amy, I wish I had been reading your journal earlier. I didn't realize that we all seem to be having the blah's and cookies for breakfast! Thank you so much for all your support in my journal. I really do appreciate it.

It is tough when the routine gets messed with. It is so easy to just let the good habits slide. You will get beyond this though. You have 4 weeks of both kids back in school time coming up and you will get completely back on track and get that new clippie!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Congrats on the ring fitting. Wear it as a reminder of what you have already accomplished and that you can accomplish more!

Hang in there.:grouphug:

Thank you Anna!

Two things, shortly after I posted, I just decided enough was enough so I decided to go for a walk. Dh was just walking through the door after a long day but was game so we went just the two of us. Figured the kids would be fine (ds is 12.5, heck I was babysitting infants at that age). So we did a fast 40 minutes, I was hoping for 60 but it started to really lightening and sprinkled so we took a shortcut and came back a bit early. Happy with at least getting my butt up and out!

#2, my new/old ring was actually a bit loose, I caught it on something and bent the band! So I need to take it and have it fixed and resized. So that was short lived I guess! Starting to think that ring is jinxed for me, in 14 years I have only worn it a few months here and there in between pregnancies and my yo yo weight issues.

Thanks for reading, its amazing that walk really boosted my spirits!:yay:

Amy it's great you decided to walk today. It may just kick start you out of your slump. It is amazing how exercise can raise our sprits. Good luck with exercise tommorrow. :goodvibes

Jennifer

Great job getting the walk in with DH -- I see the end of your slump is fast approaching!:cool1:

It is wierd to leave the kids without a babysitter, isn't it? But like you, I was babysitting infants by this age (what were those parents thinking?!) I will leave DD3 home with DD13 now. DD11.5 is harder. She bosses DD3 around too much and I definitely don't like to leave DD13 and DD11.5 alone together if they are in a bickering phase (which seems to be most of the time!:rotfl2: )

Sorry about the ring - bummer!

Hi Amy,

That is great that yo got your walk in. I hear you on the lightning yesterday...it was pretty bad up by us. DH had to go to get his bike from the shop and ride it home. I was behind but a little worried!

Keep up the good work, you are doing great!!!!!

Have a great day :)

Thank you Anna, Jennifer and Jamie. I tried posting to journals last night but only got to a couple before the server went down. So I am sorry I missed out on a few of you  .

Food today was pretty good. Oh, first of all I didn't make it WW to weigh in but I weighed at home, according to my scale I am the same I was last week. I don't particularly trust my scale but it at least gives me a general idea. Again, food was okay, too many carbs AGAIN and then I capped off a frustratiang night of watching my beloved Denver Nuggets lose with a chocolate malt from Sonic. So I need to figure my points tomorrow, I know I used a few Flex points but thats okay. Good news is that I walked twice today. 40 Minutes on the treadmill this morning and then dh shocked me when he called to say he was leaving work early so we could walk before the game started. I was really pleasantly surprised. He said he slept better last nght after our walk and really enjoyed it. Amazing that after 15 years of marriage he can still surprise me. He ended up missing all the pregame coverage plus the first 15 minutes of the game. I was impressed. So I got in another 40 minutes with him later on. So I am pooped but proud I did that.

I really need to get a better handle on my food. I have just been eating too many snacks, they are all lowfat but still very low on nutrition and high in carbs. Just what I don't need. But I am happy that I have exercised two days in a row. That hasn't happened in awhile.

Next week I am going to WW for sure, dd starts back in school on Tuesday. I need to make the most of these six weeks before my trip and attempt to take off another 10 pounds. At the very least I hope to take off seven so I can be at 40. Just in time to go on a two week vacation :scared: .

Awww Amy, that is really neat that your husband can still surprise you with the walk:cloud9: . As much as we complain about them, they are pretty awesome, aren't they? Great job getting the double work out in.  I hear you on the snack thing. Snacks are healthy, but still unnecessary and not the fruits/veggies that they should be (at least for me!)

You are going to do great the next 6 weeks. I'm sure you can do it!

80 minutes of exercise is awesome. :yay: You should be really proud of yourself. Looks like you out of your exercise slump.

It's great to have such a supportive husband. :cloud9:

You don't have to be scared about going on vacation. Just take it day by day. Each day try to make the best choices you can. You can indulge to, it is vacation. :) I hear you though, were going to be gone for 11 days and I'm scared also.:scared:

Hi Amy,

You are doing a great job getting your walks in! That was so nice of your DH to take a walk with you. I find that my DH and I have our best conversations when we are out walking.:goodvibes

I'm sorry about the Denver Nuggets. Here in Cleveland, we are used to not making the playoffs or making an early exit from them. :sad2: I'm kind of shocked at how well the Cavs and Indians are doing this year and how the Browns were the talk of the NFL draft last week. It's kind of weird.

Wow! Six weeks before your vacation! How exciting! You are going to do a great job pre-vacation, on vacation, and post vacation.:thumbsup2 Just remember, take each day as it comes and do the best you can do.:goodvibes

Have a great day!:cool1:

Hi Amy,

That is great that your DH surprised you and you two were able to get out and walk. I WISH my DH did things like that!! He is the tpye that works out in the house and that is it. He does walk around his building at work but that is it!

I was sad to see the Nuggets lose again. I was so hoping that we could go a little farther this year. The Spurs are good though, but it still would have been nice to see it happen!

Way to go on the workout....Keep it up and you'll be looking good for your trip!

Have a great day :)
