Amy's Journal: Comments Welcome!

Hi Amy
I think we all get those sad moments, it certainly struck a cord with me!
You DID help your stepdad - you were there for him when he needed someone to talk to.
Glad you can see that you realise how your feeling will pass & that you didnt turn to the fridge - well done :goodvibes
Your March sounds a bit like ours!!!

Hi everyone, sorry I have been MIA so long! Stepdad ended up in the hospital, he was having sypmptoms of heart failure but it turned out fine. He is not in heart failure but it was scary. I took him to the ER which was six hours of sheer H***. My evening ended with a homeless man dressed in a garbage bag trying to hug me saying "where have you been all my life, you doll?" What a night! I brought my mom to my house since they ended up admitting stepdad for more tests (all turned out fine). She is now not angry, just confused and frightened bless her heart. But I like her better that way ;) . I think my stepdad was having a stress/anxiety attack personally. Who can blame him? It just brought up again, how vulnerable they are and how time is running out for things to be somewhat normal. But for now, its okay!

Weigh in on Wednesday had me down 29.8 . MIssed the 30 pound star by .2! I was bummed but glad to have a weight loss now five weeks in a row.

Food has been not so great. Yesterday I ate next to nothing and today I went to lunch with my mom and porked down a grilled cheese sandwich and fries. Guess I am not quite over that stress eating thing after all! But I did skip the chocolate malt and had a diet coke. I did walk yesterday but am too wiped out today. I am about to pick up the kids then veg in front of the tv until dd's volleyball game.

I will get caught up with all of you tonight or tomorrow. Thanks so much for caring and "listening", its been a rough couple of weeks. I am hoping my mom settles back down so that stepdad can have some peace and quiet and get better too.

Have a great weekend!

CONGRATS on the loss! You are really doing great!! :cool1: :cheer2: :yay: :woohoo: 5 weeks in a row is so cool, you will get that star next week for sure! :wizard:

I'm glad everything turned out OK for your stepdad. I remember spending 13 hours in the ER with DS when they thought he had appendicitis. NOT FUN!

Try to focus on your 5 weeks in a row loss whenever you want to reach for the stress-relieving junk. You don't want to ruin your streak!

Amy:hug:
Glad your step dad is doing ok now, it must have been very scary for you & your mom.
Looking on the bright side - you got chatted up;)

Congrats on the loss... again
I agree with Amy - that star will be yours next week :goodvibes

Hope life calms down this week

 Amy,

I'm sorry to hear about your stepdad. I hope he is feeling much better. We will keep him in our thoughts and prayers.

That star is yours this week, Amy! I know you CAN do this!:cheer2:

Hope you have a great week ahead WISH sis!

Thanks Amy (sniff, sniffle I will miss you), Tracey and Tracy. I really appreciate your support. Sometimes reading WISH and all of your supporting replies reminds me that I do have really good friends!

I have been up and down with food all weekend. Friday night we went to dd's first volleyball game. She had fun, I am not getting my hopes up for a volleyball scholarship however! Afterwards ds and dh sensed I was not in my Food Police mode so we went to Arby's (I ahve been forbidding fast food lately which has not won me any popularity awards with my junk loving husband and son). I had curly fries for dinner. NIce huh? Saturday was okay until my sister called. I am really furious with her. Just so sick of her crap I cannot even tell you! She has yet to call my parents to see how stepdad is doing. Frankly, she makes me ill. I basically hung up on her then called my mom and just ranted for about 30 minutes. There was another issue too weird and long to go into that had me about ready to kill where my sister is concerned. My parents are also tired of her bs and dh told me she is not welcome in our home right now. So I have decided to give up my position of family social events director. I am not having Easter dinner here, I am taking my parents out for a nice brunch and if my sister and nephew and their respective significant others care to join us fine. But they can jolly well pay for their own meals!

Today we went to lunch and a movie. I had the guiltless chicken platter at Chilies and skipped the corn cob that came with it. Did eat some chips and salsa but had ice tea to drink, no beer. So that was good. The movie however was a disaster when I started chowing on the m & m's and Reeses Pieces. I am not typically a candy person but today I certainly was. I did skip dinner and have been slamming water all afternoon. I also got in a cleaning fit and dh and I cleaned, raked and mowed the front yard, washed windows and I did a bunch of laundry. So that made me feel better.

No idea if the 30 pound star will happen Wednesday or not. I still have two full days to recoop but given the past five days who knows? If it doesn't happen maybe the next week. I did fall off the wagon but I think I climbed back on so we'll see. Thanks for reading. I am really hoping this week goes better on all fronts!

 Amy.... I'm sorry to hear about your sister. :( Family issues can be so tough.

I'm sending you some :wizard: :wizard: for the week ahead....

Have a great Monday!:cool1:

Good for you on putting away the family social director hat. I did that this past Christmas, and it was great. I don't regret it one bit.

You have had a loss for 5 straight weeks. That is very immpressive so give yourself a pat on the back.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Don't worry about the 30 lb star this week. pound water and avoid salt like the plague for the next couple of days. If it happens great, but otherwise, you KNOW it will next week. You can do it!!:cheer2:

Don't worry, I will still be keeping up with you, just not keeping my own journal! I couldn't just leave all my WISH buddies, it would be too hard.

Bummer about your sister. I only have a brother, so I can't relate. She sounds like a real piece of work. Good for you putting your foot down.

Don't worry about the past couple days, you can't change them. Concentrate on making today and tomorrow great, since you can control what you eat in the future!!

Remember, you are not on any time scale to get this weight off, it will come off eventually and you are in it for the long haul. You WILL get that 30lb star, that is a fact!!! :thumbsup2

Hi Amy,

Sorry to hear that your stepdad was having problems. Good news is that he is doing better. And your mom too...glad she got out of her funk of being mean!!! Keeping you and your mom and stepdad in my prayers.

Congrats on the loss again!!! That is great. I just know you are going to get that 30 pound clip.....keep up the great work!!!!

Have a great day :)

Thank you everyone. Anna "pounding" water is exactly what I have been doing! Who knows, maybe it will work? Mostly I just don't want to end my losing streak! I am off to WW tomorrow, win, lose or draw. I have done very well yesterday and today so we shall see.

Food yesterday was exactly my 26 points. I cleaned the house from top to bottom and worked in the yard some more (gotta love spring) but didn't get on a the treadmill. But I was okay with that. Today I did a very fast 40 minute walk at the mall, cleaned my mom's condo from top to bottom and then came home and talked with my brother on the phone for an hour. It was nice to catch up. Sister is apparently miffed at my Easter Brunch idea and won't be coming. Says she cannot afford it. Its so much nicer when you get a free meal at my house I guess! I feel sort of bad but my parents are very excited for us to go to church with them and then eat out afterwards. So I am sticking to the plan.

Food today:
Breakfast: Total with skim: 4
Snack: Pudding (2)
Lunch: Salad (11)
Snack: ice cream bar (3)
Dinner: Lean Cuisine (5)
Total: 25 (one point under but I am done)

Amy: I am very glad you will be visiting my journal some, I would really miss you!

Tracy: Family issues are the hardest and it always seem like it rains and then pours in that area for me. I love my sister but am so amazed at how hard she makes it sometimes.

Jamie: Thanks for keeping my parents in your prayers, they need them! But they are doing really well this week so it looks like your good thoughts made the mark. Thank you!

Anna: I remember your Christmas and how nice that sounded. So I guess I'll give it a try and enjoy a nice meal out this Easter!

Don't let your sister get you down and stick to your guns on Easter. You will definitely enjoy your dinner out. It is great your parents are excited about the day and wonderful you were able to catch up with your brother. Great job with all the cleaning, walking, and yard work.:cheer2:

Good Luck at WI today. Here's a little extra :wizard: for you!

Hi Amy,

I agree with Anna, don't let your sister get your down. It's not worth it. I am sure that it upsets your parents that she won't be joining the family for brunch, but at least you and your family are going and they seem excited about that.

You're doing a great job...keep it up!!! Good luck at WW.....

Have a great day :)

Thanks Anna and Jamie! My luck did hold, sixth straight week with a loss (2. pounds down this week to be exact). So I got my 30 pound star and then some!:cool1: I was very happy. I have so far lost 12 pounds in the last six weeks and really wish I could keep this up until our trip in 11 weeks. If I do I could have 50 pounds off by then. But, I am getting ahead of myself I guess! I am going to log in my food even though I have not eaten dinner yet but hopefully will stay on target.

Breakfast: 1 point bar (1)
Lunch: Lean Cuisine (4), parm cheese (1)
Snack #1: Mr. Crisper's (2)
Snack #2: Skinny Cow (3)
Dinner: Grilled chicken sausage (5), salad (2), pasta (6) Coors Light (2)
Total: 26

I really need to start eating more fruit. I am doing well on the veggies but would like to have more fruit as well. I also need to bump up my water a bit, I have been only getting about 48-64 oz. I really feel better when I drink more.

DD and I are going out of town for one night this weekend. Her friend and her mom (who is my friend) invited us to go up to the hot springs to celebrate dd's friend's bday. I am excited but also wary of going hog wild with food and drinks! But its only one night and I am determined to have enough flex points available to hold it together. These past six weeks have been good to motivate me using my flex points wisely. I have gotten happily used to losing each week and dont' want to stop now. I am also starting to really think about how I am going to survive a two week vacation in June (Disneyland, San Diego and L.A.). I did well last year in DL but was only gone a week. I just know I need to come up with a game plan and stick to it!

Thanks for all the support and well wishes for my weigh in!

Way to go, Amy! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: :cheer2:

I am so proud of you, girl! You have been doing an amazing job and the scale is reflecting all of your hard work. Woohoo!:woohoo:

I'm sorry to hear about your sister. :( Stick to your Easter plans and have a great time with your parents. :thumbsup2

Congratulations Amy! That 30 pound star is yours!:yay: :woohoo:

You ROCK!!!!! Congrats on the loss, you earned it!!! :yay: :woohoo: :cool1: :cheer2:

I don't think you will have any problems behaving when you are away this weekend, just choose wisely when you eat out (salads w/dressing on the side, go with grilled, not fried and avoid bad carbs) and remember how awesome it felt when you got that 30lb star!!! If you know where you are going, try to plan ahead with your meals. You'll do fine!!!

Don't stress about your vacation eating, that is a couple months away. It will drive you insane (take it from me, I know!!). Just focus on the here and now and make every day a good food day. :thumbsup2

Congrats on your 6th consecutive loss and getting the 30lb star:cheer2:  :cheer2:  :cheer2:

You will do fine this weekend. Like Amy said, make good choices, just have a taste of the yummy stuff, and check online ahead of time if you can to help you make good choices. Will there be hiking? Hot springs sound wonderful - Enjoy!

You are going to do fine on your June vacation. You can do lots of walking, be the designated "fastpass" runner, etc. There are even healthy choices available at DL now. When exactly are you coming out to CA?

Way to go Amy!!!  :cool1: :cool1: :cheer2: :cheer2: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:
That is awesome...you got your 30 pound star. Well deserved!!!!

Don't worry about your vacation in June, you are going to do great.....

Keep up the great work....

Have a wonderful Day:)
