Amy's Journal: Comments Welcome!

Way to go on the exercise!! :cheer2: :thumbsup2

Glad things are going so well. Don't you love CSR?? It is so pretty around the lake. DH and I stayed there on our 25th, and it was especially nice at night there.

Enjoy your cruise!! Can't wait to hear all about it. :sunny:

Way to go on the exercise, Amy! :Pinkbounc Walking those stairs at Blizzard Beach is certainly a workout isn't it? ;)

I hope you and your family have a magical, relaxing, and fun cruise! I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back. :goodvibes

Now you have me wanting to stay at CSR!! It sounds wonderful! We'll definitely visit the hotel on our upcoming trip and maybe grab lunch.

Great job on the exercise!!! Hope you had a great time at Blizzard Beach!

Enjoy your cruise and we can't wait to hear all about it. Ah vacation!! :goodvibes

What a way to work out Blizzard beach & CSR resort!!!
I'm sooo jealous!
What is CSR like? We are thinking of trying to upgrade to there :)

Miss ya WISH sis! :grouphug: I hope you are having a great time! I can't wait to hear about your trip! :Pinkbounc

CACrusin:
Arrr what you have to go & say that for???
Now i'm depressed, i NEED a Disney cruise!!
Amy:
Hope you made it to the adults only beach, have a conch cooler for me :)

Good morning WISHERS! I am officially home :sad1: . We had such a wonderful time on the cruise. I wish they weren't so darn expensive, I would have booked another one right on the ship! Its nice to be home and have a bit more room to spread out in however. I did AWFUL with my food. I mean I could have done worse I guess but not by much. I ate what I wanted, when I wanted and I ate three meals a day. Breakfast was always hot cereal, bacon, fruit and some eggs. Lunch was whatever I could cram down my throat and dinner was the usual cruise line food fest. Our server Mladdin was so great and he would always bring extra desserts. Hey, I couldn't disappoint him right? I capped off the whole thing with Burger King at the airport yesterday afternoon. I tried to exercise some. I enjoyed walking on Deck 4 but the joggers seemed to get very annoyed when the walkers were blocking their path. I also had at least two cocktails each day but tried to drink plenty of water. I don't even feel the slightest bit guilty since I had so much fun, it was worth it! The scale says I am up 8 pounds, hopefully just eating normal for the next several days will help that number go down a bit. Today is my daughter's birthday so I know I'll have a piece of cake and some other goodies. But at least it won't be three full meals with dessert and bacon thrown in the mix!

Here was my exercise:
Friday, September 1: 15 minutes walking at CSR, 15 minutes swimming

Saturday, September 2: Sail Away Party. I am counting 15 minutes because I was out there dancing like a moron with my husband and kids and it was like aerobics. It was also hot as you know what so I seriously sweated a bunch! They had us dancing and hopping up and down for quite awhile. I didn't time it but I think 15 minutes is safe.

Sunday September 3: 10 minute walk on Deck 4. Quit early, was tired of Mr. Hostile Jogger yelling at me to move. He also yelled at some poor little old couple out walking with their walkers and granddaughter. What a charmer. Guess I should haved played Jesus and walked on water off the deck to make room for him. What a jerk and every time I tried to walk on that deck from then on out there he was. This guy probably lost 30 pounds on the cruise. I also saw him on the elevator one night when I was carrying up a big plate of fries to our stateroom and he gave me the most disgusted look. I felt like a fat piece of trash. Naturally he was all sweaty from his most recent run. Oh well, maybe next cruise I'll be the one jogging!

Monday, September 4: 30 minutes on Deck 4. Took my husband with me this time so that if Mr. Jogger was there he could yell back at him. Luckily he didn't show up til we were done.

Wednesday: Did 30 minutes of swimming and snorkling with Matthew at Magens Bay in St. Thomas. The water was so calm I actually was able to swim laps for around 15 minutes.

Friday: Swam and snorkeled for 30 minutes on Castaway Cay. Also did about 10 minutes of walking to explore things a bit.

So that adds up to 125 minutes of exercise. Not nearly as much as I was hoping. I was hoping to walk 30 minutes each day. Oh well, I'll be cranking to make my challenge but its only the 10th so I have 20 days left to make it. Too bad I can't count all my trips up the buffet at Topsiders. I probably did do 30 minutes a day walking up that line!

I will try to catch up with journals today or tomorrow. Right now its major laundry time and the family is coming over for dd's birthday. Hope you all are doing well, thanks for reading!

Tracey: Cornonado Springs is wonderful. Totally different than ASMO. No Disney feel to it but its lush and wonderful with a ton of quiet pools a really nice playground. Its a convention resort so it just has a totally different feel. Its very quiet and low key and its a nice location. It feels very resortish, there's a ton to do there and it also has a full service salon right there if that interests you. I think you can't go wrong with whatever you decide!

Welcome back!!!!! :welcome:

I sure know how crummy it feels coming home, but you'll just have to get planning your next trip/cruise!!! It sounds like you had an absolutely fantastic time!!! I've never been on a real cruise (just a two day one when I was a teenager with my parents and it was a small ship). It sounds fantastic.

I think you did pretty well with the exercise! All of our exercise (ie. swimming at Cast Away Cay) sounds like fun exercise rather than running on this dang ole treadmill! :p That jogger obviously wasn't touched with any Disney magic!!!! How incredibly rude!

Don't worry too much about the weightgain. I've heard from multiple people that as soon as they resumed regular eating patterns, the extra weight gained, came off.

Will you be writing a trip report? I'd LOVE to read it!!! So glad you had so much fun. I hope you continue riding that Disney high for a while!! :goodvibes

Yay, you're back!!!! That is so cool that you had such a great time. :cool1: And who cares about the 8lbs, I bet it will come off really quickly once you are back into your normal routine.

What a jerk that jogger was. You should have pushed him overboard...

How hectic, coming back to a b-day party. That takes some guts! :cheer2:

Welcome Back!! Your trip sounds like it was great! Don't worry about the 8lbs. You did get some fun exercise with the swimming and dancing and all bet Mr. Cranky Jogger didn't have nearly as good a time as you on his cruise.

:bday: Happy Birthday to DD!! Nothing like jumping right back into the fray, eh?

Thanks everyone. Coming home to throw a family bday party was a bit hectic. I hit Sams about an hour before everyone arrived, chucked some stuff into the basket and that was that. I thankfully had bought and wrapped all her presents before we left and ordered a cake so it was good. Mr. Cranky Jogger was a hoot. I can still see that guy. The day I rode up with him on the elevator he was with his wife and he was nasty to her too. I think Tink definitely needed to sprinkle him with some serious pixie dust. But then you never know in life, he could have just had something very awful occur in his life, who knows? In any case, walking at home on my treadmill is not as fun but certainly less stressful without anyone yelling at me to move over.

Didn't exercise a bit today. I spent the day doing laundry, the party and then cleaning up. Followed by two nasty hours of helping my son do his homework. A good mom would have worked with him a bit each day. Instead I taught him how to procrastinate and then cram it all in, late at night when you're exhausted. Another Mom of the Year Award to me! I am going to get caught up with journals later tonight and tomorrow.

CJK: I will definitely be writing a trip report, I'll post the link when I get it done. Somehow writing a report always kind of helps me get over the trip blues.

Welcome Back, Amy!! :cool1:

I'm glad you had a great time! I look forward to reading your trip report! :goodvibes

Don't worry about those 8 pounds.... They'll be gone soon!

Happy Birthday to your DD! Last year, we came back from WDW the same day that my DD5 had a birthday party to go to for one of her close friends. Hope everyone had a great time!

Have a good one! :sunny:

Welcome back Amy!!

Can't wait to hear all about your trip.

What is with some people?? You should have shoved the nasty jogger guy overboard!

I think your exercise sounds great. When I go on vacation, it seems like all my regular good intentions fly out the window.

Hope you have a good week. :sunny:

Thanks Tracy and Kate. I really struggled with food today. I had some leftover chips and salsa from the party yesterday and nibbled on those quite a bit. I did drink quite a bit of water. Dinner tonight was some mac and cheese I had made for Maria (she had to go to the ortho today and needed some soft food) and the pizza I made for everyone else. Not huge portions but no veggies, fruit and very little in the way of protein today. Getting back on track is tough! And I didn't exercise. Spent the day doing laundry (10 days for a family of four, I did three loads while away but still it was nasty). I also did my cruise trip report:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=14481901#post14481901
Its kind of just a dry recap but its something I can print and save to add to all my cruise mementos. I needed to do it while it was fresh in my mind. So yeah, it was fun to do and fun to relive yet I spent so much time on that when I needed to finish unpacking and exercise was unfortunate. Its almost mid month and I have over 700 minutes of exercise to do! I was just tired and umotivated! Hopefully I'll get out of my funk tomorrow.

Understandably, you have the post cruise blues! It is always hard to get back on track after a vacation, but you can do it. :cheer2: You have the water part down, so that is good. Now just work on getting another part under control.

Don't feel bad about your exercise. I have almost 1000 minutes to go and I wasn't even on vacation! I am really going to have to move my rear for the next 19 days!

Off to read your trip report now ... :teeth: :surfweb:

Getting back into routine after vacation is one of the hardest thing to do! You're already doing the thing that I find the hardest: drinking water!! The rest will follow. I'm so glad you did a trip report. I can't wait to read it!!!

It'll probably take you a couple days to unwind and get back into a healthy routine. Just start with one thing, like drinking water. The next day eat 100% OP. Then add in the exercise and you are back! A couple days of that and you will have no problems sticking to it.

Can't wait to read your trip report, thanks for the link! :thumbsup2

Welcome home Amy,
& welcome to the DCL obssesed fan club!! Life will never be the same, many a day i walk on the treadmill at the gym staring at the wall seeing miles of invisible blue ocean & sunshine..... :teeth:
Did you do the pirates night? Are they still playing AC/DC??
Well done for eating all that yummy food, you CANNOT do a DC & resist all that delish food, that just wouldnt be normal ;) I'm proud of you :thumbsup2
Give yourself a week or 2 to ease back into a normal routine to get back on plan...or book another cruise, what better motivation than that :rotfl:

Tracey, you're congratulating me on eating like a pig for seven days, I love you! I agree, I waited years for that cruise and I was going to enjoy every minute of it! I think they did play AC/DC at Pirates night which was one week ago tonight.

Today was much better with food. TOM hit like a two ton truck, two weeks early. Go figure. At least I know why I have been feeling so crummy and lethargic the last few days, not only was it post cruise blues it was PMS. I didn't exercise today, I just felt miserable. I HAVE to get back on track with that tomorrow. I doubt I'll make my challenge but at this point would be happy just get within a couple hundred minutes of it! I spent the day organizing and mindlessly reading the dis and doing the last of the trip laundry. Drank plenty of water and ate yogurt to settle my stomach a bit. And I threw out the leftover chips! I also literally spent the last four hours doing homework with my kids, my son in particular. Poor kid has so much to make up. He stayed at school until 5:00 and we hit it as soon as he got home and only took a short break for dinner. I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel however but also realizing that taking him out of school for longer than a day or two is no longer an option. Welcome to middle school! I will get to journals tomorrow, I am just beat right now. Good night all and thanks for your support and reading!
