Amy's Journal: Comments Welcome!

Hi Amy,

Congrats on the loss....that is great!!!

Keep up the good work....you are doing great and will make your goal in no time!!!

Have a wonderful weekend :)

Thanks Jamie and Amy! Yesterday was hectic and I only put in my exercise and didn't journal. But I had a good day, drank my water and ate well too. I can't even remember what all I ate but I had a shake for breakfast, a chicken burrito for lunch with some chips and salsa (ate out) and about two bites of Hamburger Helper and an orange for dinner (still full from lunch). I ate out which is always a challenge especially at a Mexican food place but I did okay.

Today is as follows:
Breakfast: EAS Carb Control Shake
Lunch: Santa Fe Chicken Salad from Applebees. No sour cream, guac and the dressing on the side (used about a tablespoon of that).
Dinner: I am having my parents over tonight and have steak marinating, some fresh corn on the cob, and I bought some salads at the deli that I don't like. I also made a pineapple upsidedown cake. So we will see how this goes this evening! I wanted to journal now because I know by the time they leave I will probably be tired and ready for bed! This has been a good week, I hope I can survive three days of weekend eating!

Thanks again everyone for all the support and encouragement!

Wow, that is weird - we are also having steak and corn on the cob tonight! No parents or upside down cake though...

I'm glad you had such a great week! You will have no problems getting through the long weekend. YOU CAN DO IT!!!! :cheer2:

Also, congrats on getting all those exercise minutes in - I think you can make your goal! :cool1:

Hi Amy~

Congrats on your weight loss! :Pinkbounc That is great! Keep on keeping on Amy! :cheer2:

How did your dinner turn out yesterday evening? Your menu sounds delicious! :goodvibes

Have a wonderful weekend! :sunny:

Thanks Tracy and Amy!

My dinner last night was good. I drank 24 oz. of water just before everyone got here to sort of fill me up. I did have some chips and salsa (I am having a thing with chips and salsa can you tell?). Then I had 6 oz. of lean steak, half an ear of roasted corn that I had rubbed a little bit of olive oil on before roasting, one bite of potato salad, one small piece of garlic bread, and two bites of pineapple upside down cake and two 12 oz. glasses of iced tea. I skipped the light beer and had one sip of my hubby's. And get this Amy, I SKIPPED THE COOL WHIP!! I amaze myself sometimes (this coming from a woman who once ate a whole container :rotfl2: ). I also threw out the leftover cool whip, although after my daughter had garnished her two huge pieces of cake with about one half cup of cool whip apiece, there wasn't much left to throw out! So I had a good evening. Eating that huge salad for lunch kept me pretty filled up so it was easier to make good choices at dinner. And then I walked for 30 minutes after dinner to get some exercise in. Today is Sams Club, some laundry, some cleaning, the library and church, so hopefully I will be too busy to eat too much! I do need to exercise this weekend to make my goal for May exercise challenge. That challenge has made a HUGE difference in my exercise, I cannot recommend joining them enough. If not for that I know there are many times I would just bag working out.

Hope everybody has a great weekend!

Hi Amy~

Sounds like your dinner went well. :goodvibes That is great! :thumbsup2 Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. Take care!

Hi Amy,
I just caught up on your journal. I am really impressed with your willpower and control when tempting food is around. :cheer2:

Congrats on your 24 pound loss so far. That is AWESOME!

Thanks for stopping by my journal this week and I hope you are having a great weekend.

Anna

Woohoo! Way to go resisting the Cool Whip! I know just how hard that is and I am so proud of you for throwing it away!!! :cool1:  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :thumbsup2 :yay:

Glad to hear the challenges are so motivating. It is the same for me and lots of other people. Sometimes I only go to the gym because I am super competitive and I don't want to miss my goal!

Keep it up, you are really doing great! :cheer2:

Hi Amy,

How are you doing? How did the rest of your weekend go? I hope you are having a good week so far! :goodvibes

Take care! :grouphug:

Thanks Tracy and Amy! Wow, I have been really bad about journaling the last several days. No idea why, I have been keeping track of my exercise for the May Challenge (which I just made about 5 minutes ago) and keeping track of my WW points. The rest of my Memorial Weekend was okay. Saturday was okay, Sunday: TOTAL disaster, Monday: okay. Sunday was really tough as we had company and a lot of good food. Oh well, it was a holiday. I did better on Monday and really good on Tuesday. I lost .8 at WW today for a total of 24.8 pounds. I really wanted to make 25 and get my cheesey little "25 pounds" magnet they give you but I should get it next week! Did pretty good today.
Breakfast: skipped for weigh in
Lunch: Blimpies club sandwich, no mayo/oil with extra veggies, baked lays and a diet pepsi.
Snack pudding and a Weight Watchers Eclair
Dinner: Lean Cuisine, Weight Watchers Eclair
Drank only 64 oz. of water, 12 oz. of herbal, cafeine free iced tea and one diet Pepsi. No idea what was up with those Eclairs! I stayed within points but need to eat a more balanced diet!

Biggest high of the day was making my May Exercise Challenge. That really helped me do about twice as much exercise as I probably otherwise would have done. Thanks for visiting my journal, I promise to get back on track with everyone else's journals tomorrow!

Congrats on making your May Exercise Challenge!! :cheer2:  It is such a great motivator!

Have a great rest of the week!

Congrats on meeting your exercise challenge goal!!! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cool1: :thumbsup2 Have you signed up for the June Challenge yet?

Great job getting back on track after the holiday. You will get your cheesy magnet next week! :teeth:

Great job back on track, Amy!!

Congrats on 24.8 and on the fact that you will get your wonderful magnet next week - hopefully one that isn't warped beyond use!

Have a great rest of the week. AWESOME AVOIDANCE of COOL WHIP!!

Thank you everyone! Its funny how that little magnet has gotten to be such a thing with me! I'll probably throw it in the black hole of my kitchen junk drawer but I want it anyway! Today was okay, I didn't exercise because I cleaned the whole house today and was just not in the mood. Tomorrow I plan on taking a nice long walk. Food was so so.
Breakfast: About 2/3 of a Southbeach diet Pizza. Nothing sounded good so I ate that.
Lunch: Salad made with 2 cups romaine, 3 oz. of turkey, 2 tb 2% cheese, 2 tb light Italian dressing. Also some ff pudding.
Snack: 1 teaspoon peanut butter, 2 southbeach diet cookies.
Dinner: Very small helping of Stouffer's lasagne and some chips and salsa. One 16 oz. bottle of Coors Light.

Really could have done better. My motivation was lacking today. But I feel better tonight than I did earlier. Just gotta get back on full force tomorrow! Thanks for visiting my journal!

It's not the magnet, it is what the magnet means! You'll get it next week for sure!

Sounds like you got your exercise in cleaning house. :thumbsup2

Glad you are feeling better now and have a great weekend!

Thanks for stopping by my journal!

Don't put that magnet in the junk drawer! Put it on the fridge, front and center! It will remind you how far you've come and be an extra motivator to stay on track.

I'm so happy that you met your May goal. I'm sure that is the first in a long string of challenges you will conquer! :yay:

Congrats on making your May Exercise Challenge Goal! :yay: I knew you could do it, Amy! :cheer2:

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! :sunny:

Thanks everyone!
Yesterday was pretty good for a Friday which has been a tough day/night for me lately.
Breakfast: shredded wheat
Lunch: 2 cups romaine lettuce, 1/2 cup 2% cheese, 2oz of crushed tortilla chips, salsa.
Snack: chex mix and about 15 Pringles
Dinner: One grilled chicken breast, 1 cup romaine lettuce with 1tb lowfat Italian dressing, 1/2 cup macaroni salad, 1 small brownie.
64 oz. of water, 32 oz. caffeine free iced tea. Resisted the Coors Light this Friday night!
Walked for 20 minutes which wasn't enough but all I got in.

Every little bit of exercise counts! Don't worry, there is still a whole month to make your goal!

Your food looks really good. You are getting those veggies in! :cheer2:

You must be excited about your upcoming trip! :goodvibes

Great job on your food. I like using salsa as a salad dressing too. :thumbsup2

20 minutes is 20 minutes and it all counts! Good job! :cool1:
