Amy's Designs

Hi Amy!

Discovered this area of the DISboards recently and have been marveling at the incredible designs that you and the other artists come up with. WOW!

I've also been trying to figure out how to send a private message to you and finally gave up. Suffice it to say that I'm not very computer literate. But I'd really love to have pirate-theme t-shirts made for my husband, adult son and I to wear on our cruise in January. Given my lack of computer ability, I hoped to be able to import jpg (?) designs to a place like Custom Ink or CafePress to have the shirts printed.

If you're able to help us, I was envisioning something that would have the same background for all three shirts but with different characters (dressed in pirate garb) for each shirt. One would have Mickey, another would have Goofy and the third would have Tigger (yeah, I know he's not a cruise character, but my husband is a Tigger guy....what can you do?)

Perhaps they could be saying something piratey with "Aaarrr" and/or refer to "sailin' with Capn' Mickey," though I guess that wouldn't work for the shirt with Mickey on it.

Does any of this sound do-able, Amy?

Many thanks for your consideration,
Barbara

wow this thread is flying:goodvibes i just gave this place a shout out in my trip report there are alot of pictures with my kids wearing your designs thanks again..;)

Hi Amy!

Hope you're doing well. I was wondering if you can resize my wedding invitation (the one with cindy's castle) to 4.25" x 6.25". The sizing right now is a little off and won't fit the mat I'm trying to put it on. Thanks so much! ;)

~Catherine

Catherine,
Here it is resized. My canvas size says 4.25 x 6.25 at 200 pixels per inch. I hope this works for you. Let me know if I can help in any other way.

I am not sure if I will be able to find that kind of art or not, but before I attempt to...

I wanted to let you know that you will probably have no luck in getting anything from here printed by a company. Since all Disney Images are trademarked, they cannot legally receive money for printing something that would infringe on that trademark. You would most likely have to print your iron ons and do them yourself (unless you know someone in high places - ha ha).

Now about your design - if you still want me to work on something - I know that I have a Captain Mickey graphic and also have a group picture of the main characters in pirate stuff (that I got from someone else on the boards) but as far as single characters dressed, I do not currently have these and am not sure how easy or hard it would be to find them. Let me know what you'd like and I'll do the best that I can but if I can't find anything, do you have an alternative? Would the group work? Let me know.

Hi Amy may I make a request? Would you kindly make a mickey stick figure family design with the words Collier Family Vacation at the top, at the bottom Walt Disney World 2008 < Mickey head design, and the stick figures with the names Kim, Jay, Mom < All Adults, Zonai (7), Montia (15) but don't show the ages in the design. I'm just putting it here so you'll know what size to make them. Thanks bunches :goodvibes

Thanks again Amy for putting up with me :flower3:. My printer is just so fussy, but its coming along. I'll post some pictures for you soon. ;)

Amy, Have a couple of requests to see if it's possible that you can do them. My dilema is that we leave Sat. so I was hoping to make the shirts tomorrow night. (yes, I slacking this trip usually I have these done weeks ago).

I'm looking for design H42 (Having a Disney Holiday), could you do that one with with the names Arianna, Stephanie & Cheryl. Could you just have them say Walt Disney World at the bottom and not the 2007.

Also, the name ones could I get ones that match with the mickey heads on each side and to say Walt Disney World underneath. I want the names to be Arianna, Mommy and Grammy.

I thank you so much in advance if you have a chance to do these. If you don't I totally understand. I was just going to try to find some general one's on the boards but would love to have personalized if possible.

Steph

Well, darn! Had never even considered that there might be some challenges with copyrights and all that legal stuff. And, unfortunately, I don't know anyone in high places within CafePress or Custom Ink. Ah well....

Sounds like, between getting the shirts "printed" and my original idea for the design(s), it's on to Plan B. I've since found and perused your web site (terrific artwork!) and noticed the design with Mickey and the skeleton sailer (PD4). Something like that would work, I think. We don't need any dates included but maybe something "piratey" about sailin' the Eastern Caribbean? How would the design look with a tan-type background (as in PD1), do you think?

I'm thinking of using darker shirts (at least, something other than white), possibly in Caribbean colors, if I can find them. Our son does tend to lean toward dark shirts like black, navy, etc. Would the darker colors require any changes to colors in the design?

Again, many thanks for your consideration, Amy!

Hello!

I absolutely love your designs - you are obviously a very talented and kind-hearted person! :cool2:

I have a couple of requests if you're able to help?

Could you please do us some character names: N6 (from your website) - Laura; N25 - John and N29 Niamh.

Also, would you be able to do a stick figure family for us?

Title: Coughlan - Humphries - Wood Family First Disney Holiday

Characters - Nanny Gill, Laura (adult), John (adult), Niamh (our toddler), Ger (my sister), Phil (her husband), Christian( their son) and Caitlin (their daughter).

Many, many thanks!

Laura:hug:

Thank you Amy. The Hannah Montana design is perfect. Also, thanks for responding to our requests so quickly.

Merry Christmas to you ! :santa:

Thank You So Much AMY! I was so suprised to see it this morning knowing you get so many requests at a time. I was wondering what graphics program do you use? I would liek to get something not so $$$. I was a graphic design major at one tiem and I was producing websites, company brochures, etc. but I was using photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver for macs and pc paltforms. But you know how pricey those programs are to buy even on ebay and I don't own a mac (but I sure do want one *sigh*). Can you suggest any programs that can manipulate art and do text? I would like to do personal photos with text for shirts and jeans too.

I can't speak for all programs out there because I have only tried Photo Impact and Photoshop Elements. I personally liked the Photoshop Elements better so I am using that in version 5.0. I know they now have a 6.0 version. You can download a free 30 day trial on their website to see if you like it before you buy it. I did this with both and then only bought the Photoshop Elements. I have had no schooling in design so I cannot tell you as an expert but this is my personal opinion. I hope this helps!

I wasn't sure which color for the names so I did red (for Christmas) and Minnie heads. Hopefully one of these will work - I won't be around much later and I didn't want to leave you hanging.

Thanks for letting me know your time frame so I was able to get them to you on time.

Barbara,
Here is your design. I think it would look very good on a dark colored shirt. If you'd like any changes, let me know.

Thank you, Amy!!!! The Eastern Caribbean design looks terrific. :yay: :yay: :yay:
My husband is the computer literate one in this family, so I'll ask him how to get Mickey from here to a file on our computer and/or the printer.

It's obvious how busy you are with the many requests you receive from those of us who are less talented in graphics, so I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into our design. I think we're going to look rather spiffy!

Many thanks!!

Thank you Amy, you're awesome! I love them and can't wait to show my mom and daughter. I can't believe I actually got my mom to agree to wear matching Disney shirts. They are going to love them.

Laura,
Here are your requested designs. I wasn't sure if the word family should go on the top or bottom - so I did it both ways.
