AmyM's Quest for a Better Bikini Body!

Great Job on a NO Nibble Day! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Great news on the First Class Upgrades too. That makes such a difference on transatlantic trips! :thumbsup2

Amy, we have my parents cabin which I love, but it is 9.5 hours away. DH likes to just hang out by the pool at home or go to SeaWorld or the beach. :confused3

Well done on having a nibble free day :)
One day at a time is fine :)
I've never flown 1st class, would love to one day!!
I can but dream!

WORKOUT: Abs-n-Buns (30min); Cardio Mix (60min)
RESISTED: Chocolate Chip Cookie from my Skinny Minnie neighbor (blast that woman, she needs to be stopped!)

I did great again with my eating, but I did eat a couple things I shouldn't have. Yes, I had 10 baby carrots and 1/2 red potato! :eek: They are starchy veggies and not "allowed" on the ND's plan. Oh well, I was starving after working out and they were in the crockpot with the roast, so I just splurged and had them! And here is something that I can't believe I am actually admitting - I ran out of SF Jello, which I have been eating for dessert with a squirt of whipped cream. So I just squirted the whipped cream in my mouth, since I would have eaten it with the Jello anyway! :confused3

Today is P/T conferences. I already know the drill. DD's teacher will rave about how wonderful my child is, as will DS's gifted teacher. Then I'll get to DS's regular teacher, which is where my nightmare begins... Wish me luck!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anna, I have been so spoiled with the First Class, I hope they just keep extending that offer! Sometimes there are only 5-6 people in First Class, what a waste!
Tracey, First Class is wonderful, they are always catering to you, and they always call you by name. Then the part I get in trouble with is when they bring the box of chocolates out, offer one to you, then leave it on the table so you can just grab one at any time...
Oh Amy, I have been known to squirt more than one squirt of Redi Whip in my mouth! Once, years ago, I lived in an apartment building where my kitchen window and my neighbors were literally 10 feet from each other. I was talking to my then, loser boyfriend on the phone, getting stressed, found some redi whip and started going at it. I also had some hair color on my hair, I looked like a freak. At some point I look up to see my neighbor and her bf eating dinner, looking at me like I am a museum exhibit! Now I close the blinds when I Redi Whip! You are doing so well. Can you believe that a "splurge" for you these days is carrots and a potato? I know they aren't legal on your plan right now, but if thats all the harm you do this week, you are doing very, very well! Keep it up!
Hi Amy,
You are doing a wonderful job with your exercising! Your minutes are really adding up! Way to go!:cheer2:
Please don't worry too much about the carrots and the potato... I know that they aren't on your plan, but they are good for you.
Sending you some :wizard: for conferences.... I hope they go well!
Have a great weekend!:goodvibes
Weigh-in this morning was 141. :sad2: I have no idea what I am doing wrong! :confused3 I am still weighing myself daily and I was actually at 140 on Wed, then 141 yesterday and today. Oh well, maybe next week I'll get out of the dreaded 140's...
We did go out to eat last night, but I made good choices! :banana: The P/T conferences went WAY better than I was expecting, and the kids wanted to go out to dinner to celebrate their report cards. I didn't touch the chips-n-salsa, and ordered a low carb plate of chicken w/sour cream (used sparingly), cheese, grilled onions-n-peppers and lettuce wraps. It was pretty tasty! After we went to Baskin Robbins, and I made the decision that I would not get anything if they didn't have Pumpkin Pie (I figured they wouldn't have it anymore). Well, they had it so I got a single scoop in a cup. At least I saved a couple calories by not getting a cone!
My butt is STILL sore from Abs-n-Buns on Wed! I am going to the gym after work, but I haven't decided if I will do cardio and weights or just cardio. I will be doing something though!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amy, I'm sure your neighbors got a kick out of that! I usually don't even have Redi Whip in the house, but my MIL brought it over at Thanksgiving and somehow we ended up with 2 containers. Once this is gone, I will go back to getting the Soy Whip, it's a little healthier!

Tracy, I feel like I am exercising with no pay off! I'm hoping my muscles are just retaining water while healing and I just have to deal with it and keep working at it.

Amy, I think my neighbors probably thought I was insane! Redi Whip is a "no no" in the house sort of thing for me, sort of like Cool Whip! Good job only getting one scoop at Baskin Robbins. I am betting thats a better choice with fat and calories than chocolate though, so you did well. And doing well at a what I assume was a Mexican restaurant is really an achievment. That is great news on the good conferences. I always dread those, its nerve wracking!

Keep up your good work! And don't worry about the scale, remember all that working out you are doing is causing some muscle gain. Don't weigh until next Friday!

Sorry WI was not what you wanted. Maybe there was more sodium in the food last night and you are retaining fluid or maybe it is TOM? So glad P/T conferences were good and it is nice that you celebrated with the kids. That really counts with them. Sore butt = more toned butt :thumbsup2

Hi Amy,

Glad to hear that conferences went well yesterday!:thumbsup2 Please don't worry too much about weigh-in... It could be the muscle that you are gaining or mayeb a little fluid retention.... You are doing a fabulous job and the scale will cooperate! Keep on keeping on!:cheer2:

WORKOUT: 45min treadmill jog/run

I did have some popcorn with the kids while we were watching a movie last night. Not the whole bag, like I know I've done in the past!!! That was the only snack I had which was pretty good considering I was craving "BLTs" like a drug addict. I was a little bummed that I was not able to try my new recipe of the week. I was all set to cook it, got out the cookbook and realized it was a Crockpot dish!!! So I will make it on Tue, since I always make Crockpot that day since DD has tap. I guess I'll just have to make 2 new recipes next week to make up for this week!

I am trying to get motivated to do my Pilates Sculpt DVD. I don't know why it is so hard to work out at home! I don't have a problem getting to the gym! DD's recital is tonight, I always love watching her dance. It's the winter ballet concert, so she only has 1 routine. In summer she will have 1 for tap and 1 for ballet. I have to take her to dress rehearsal from 1-3. DS has to go with me since DH is at a golf tournament. I think that was also the case last time because I know he was at the rehearsal and he commented on how "mean" the director was (she would stop some of the older girls' routines and correct them, asked one girl where her ponytail was, etc). I think he got a kick out of it because he didn't have a fit when I told him he was going.

The plan for today is to behave with food. It's a lot harder on the weekends. I am a little depressed that I am not able to get out of the 140's. I know I am muscular, but there is still some flab on my butt, hips and legs. It's just not going away, no matter how hard I work out or how well I eat. I'm trying to be patient and I know I don't have a choice but to keep doing what I am doing and hope my stupid body gets the hint!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amy, I already weighed myself this morning. Still my favorite number... I usually weigh once a day and only count it on Friday. I'd like to get back to the once a week thing, maybe I'll try it again...
Anna, my butt is STILL sore! From Wednesday! I was hoping the treadmill would stretch it out, but I was wrong... I have a hate-hate relationship with the scale. I just keep thinking of the fact that I was 134 when I left for the Disney cruise last March, and now look at me! I have to stop thinking about that, it just depresses me.
Tracy, who knows why the scale doesn't move in my favor. My body obviously hasn't gotten the calories in vs calories out memo!
Chronic overweigh is a thing with most of us! I weigh-in too much as well. How about I try not to weigh anywhere but WW this next week? I need to practice what I preach! As for the flab thing its so hard to lose in those stubborn problem areas. Have you ever worked with a trainer that could show you specific exercises to help? I know that has got to be frustrating because you work (and do so well) in both areas of food and exercise! Just don't give up and hang in there. And I also agree that working out at home can be a challenge. Its just hard when there are so many distractions! Good luck getting that DVD in, I know you can do it!
I think the thumbs down says it all... I did not work out, I ate WAY too much trail mix and I threw some Cheez-Its in there too. :sad2: But I got it out of my system and I got to the gym this morning and today will be a better day. :thumbsup2
DD's recital was wonderful. She is such a ham! As soon as she saw DH videotaping her, she stared at the camera the whole time! We spoke to her teacher afterwards and she said DD was doing great and that soon she will be ready to take Ballet 3 and 4 at the same time (as a transition to Ballet 4). We are thinking of switching studios since it is so far away (she started going there before we moved into DH's house). So we'll see...
Another reason why my ex is my ex - he called and asked for DD about 1 hour before the recital. I already knew what he was going to tell her - he wasn't going to go. So he told her he couldn't go because he had too many things to do. But his wife and her 2 boys would be going. What the #%^%@&???? I get along great with his wife and she sat by us and said apparently the football game was more important than his daughter. Pretty sad, huh? DD has 2 recitals a year and he's known about it for months, yet didn't go... I tell you, one of these days I'd just like to punch that selfish SOB right in the face! :furious:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amy, I have spoken with several of the instructors and they all say the same thing - you can't spot train and make your body lose fat in specific areas. You can spot train to build muscle, which I know I have, but your body will pick and choose where the fat will go away first. And my body always picks my chest, which is so sad! If I lose anymore in that area, I'll be shopping for training bras with DD!!! :confused3

I didn't think you could spot reduce but was hopeful! I always lose in my chest and face first, but thats a good thing in my case! Really, really, rotten about your ex. He is apparently cut out of the same piece of cloth my sister's ex is. In all the years he came to one and only one thing of my nephew's. Now my nephew is 23 and has not laid eyes on his dad for years and of course the moron can't understand why! I hope your dd was not too upset, sadly she's probably used to it by now. At least you get along with his current wife. How does she stand being married to him when he treats his kids that way? Go figure.

Maybe your cold weather had something to do with the snacking. I had a rough day today so I guess I"ll blame it on that, feel free to join in! You are doing really well, just keep up the good work!

And I was going to post pics of Daisy but didn't get around to it. One day soon I promise! How is Buckley?

Hi Amy,

I'm glad to hear that your DD's recital went well.:goodvibes I'm sorry to hear about your ex though. :( I don't think some people realize how much their actions affect others.... He definitely missed out!

I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!:cool1: Keep up the good work!:thumbsup2

Hi Amy
I agree with Tracy your ex missed out & one day he will regret not being there.
I'm glad you & your DD enjoyed the recital :)
Well done for getting the food cravings out of the way & getting to the gym:)
Have a great week
Tracey

WORKOUT: Total Body Conditioning (60min)

My food was good yesterday and I got to the gym. I know I am retaining fluid and I think it's because of TOM, which is REALLY ticking me off!!! I am starting to get a sore chest again - this is the 3rd time since the start of Dec. The first time the soreness lasted a couple days, the second time, for a week. It's debilitating, hurts to work out and sometimes it gets so bad I can't even move my arms in certain ways. And I doubt there is anything a Dr can do, besides tell me to deal with it and have fun getting older! :confused3 OK, enough whining...

I am still at a loss as to why I can't have a loss... I am going to start putting my intake back on FitDay to see if I can find something glaringly obvious. Probably not, but it's worth a shot!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amy, my ex's wife is always complaining about him. I told her what my solution was - divorce! And he treats my kids like saints compared to hers. He's just a real asset to society, let me tell ya! :rolleyes: The cold weather is definitely making it hard to drink water! And it is so cold in my office today my fingers are like popsicles... Can't wait to see the Daisy pix! Buckley is the same spazoid as always. He's just so cute though! I think he is starting (just a bit) to calm down a little, but he's still a handful!
Tracy, you are right, it was his loss!! And DD had tons of "fans" there between me, DH, DS, my mom, 2 of our friends, her stepmom and 2 stepbrothers.
Tracey, let's hope the trail mix binge lasts me for a while!!
Man, if the new wife is confiding and complaining to the ex wife, you know that sucker is on the way to divorce court again! What a guy.
It is so hard to drink water when its cold. I may try Anna's idea of hot water with lemon. I struggled to get in 56 oz today, when its warmer I can do 100 easily. I am glad to know Buckley is still being his beagle self. Ben was spastic until his end! Daisy is so much more low key. She has her moments but nothing like Benjamin's. Maybe its a "guy" thing!
TOM will be gone soon, don't let it get you too down. Just keep up the good work, you are doing great and your exercise minutes are really adding up. I think 2007 is starting out very strong for you!:cool1:
Amy, great job getting right back into it after the trail mix incident. I'm glad DD's recital went well in spite of the ex's attitude. Has it warmed up in AZ yet 'cause it is stupid cold here!
Yes, aging stinks!
Hi Amy,
Hope you are feeling better soon.... Do you have a cold or anything? Have you had a chest x-ray recently? What about workouts? Have you been doing any weights? I hope the pain goes away for you.... Sending some get well pixiedust: your way.
Have a great Tuesday! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:
Hi Amy
Your doing great with your exercise & food :)
