Amy & Alec's Wedding TR 12/9/08 - WP

Hi Everyone!!

We're back, so I won't delay any longer in starting our TR!!!

DAY 1: December 6, 2008

We got up at the butt crack of dawn to take an early flight, but we were in Orlando by noon! Which was great! Right when we got off the flight, we wanted to book it over to the Caribbean Beach because that was where our tuxedos were and we needed to call MW Tux by 2 p.m. if there was a problem. But this was the line at the Magical Express:

So we didn't make it on time. Which was fine because everyone's tuxes fit perfectly!!! Alec and I checked in to the POP and went down to DTD for a few hours. We ate at Earl of Sandwich which was phenomenal! I had never tried it but it was sooooo good!!! Sorry no food porn, I'm sorry I forgot to take a lot of pics of food porn on this trip

Here are sneak peaks of T-Rex, we just peeked in there but more to come later, we ate there!

For dinner, we had a reservation at 1900 Park Fare for the buffet with Cinderella. Alec and I were a bit late getting there, so my mom checked us and in and there was no reservation. So I gave my mom the reservation number and they said that the reservation was for the next Saturday!!!!!! I freaked!!! Luckily though, the lady said she could squeeze us in and said that "It happens all the time" OMG!!!! I was glad they could squeeze us in but that would have really sucked if they couldn't!!!

So we got over that and had a really good time! I loved the food, it was really basic food but good mashed potatoes and chicken and everything. I really liked the dessert. They had so much to choose from.

My mom has more of 1900 Park Fare so I will grab her camera and do a continuation of Day 1!!!!

Guests Arrive and Welcome Dinner!

Today, my best friend, her fiance, and Alec's friend arrived. I went over to the Caribbean Beach to check them in. So Alec was like attached to his dad the entire day, so I entertained our friends by taking them to Downtown Disney, eating at Earl of Sandwich yet again. Finally I had to go back to the room and get ready for our Welcome Dinner at Jiko! I was very excited about this. I had heard awesome things and I was looking forward to getting all of our guests together.

Jiko was amazing! I would totally go back there next time. I finally have some food porn. Here are some of the things we got at Jiko.

Ostrich appetizer. This was the favorite of many. I don't eat red meat but everyone said it was delicious!

Kalamata Olive Flatbread. Really good!

My chicken entree. It came with this like red dome thing on the top of it. This was really excellent though.

I don't know why my brother is making this face because I know he liked his filet mignon

After dinner I gave everyone the t-shirts I made for them and gave out the best man and man of honor gifts.. Some were not to thrilled with the t-shirts, but everyone wore them the next day to the park after our wedding! Can you tell that Paul (best man) was the one who hated the shirt.

Now it was the time for the surprise groom's cake. I had arrived early at Jiko so I could take a look at the cake and I didn't like it. It looked like something I could have put together and wasn't as polished as I thought a cake from Disney would be. And it was freaking huge!!! The planner said it would be a smaller version of my picture I sent her, but it wasn't. It was made to feed about 50 people. And there were 11 of us.

Anyway, I couldn't care less at that point and Alec loved it. That was all that mattered!
Oh yeah, and there is our waitress who kept coming up to me and talking to me like 5000 times about the cake before it was delivered. Alec didn't know and she knew it was a surprise!

So the welcome dinner actually went really well. We had tons of leftover cake that we took back to our room at the GF in like 12 to-go boxes. To a hotel room where the refigerator was broken. So the cake pretty much went bad. Not that it was a big deal. I'm not sure we would have had enough time to eat it with the wedding cake too!

Next up: WEDDING DAY!!!

WEDDING DAY

I'm sorry I know how long this has taken me just to get my wedding day up!!!!! So these are un-professional pics. Randy's haven't come yet, but as soon as they do, I will def post them!!!

I woke up at 5:30 on my wedding day, because I wanted to take a shower but I wanted time for my hair to dry - (I have curly hair so I don't blow dry it because it just makes my hair frizzy - I let it air dry). I was just doing my hair and makeup myself so I wanted some time to be able to relax and not think about everything that was about to happen. I read the paper, mom got me breakfast, and my BF Anya came to my room around 7.

All the guys came over from the Caribbean Beach really early, so they had breakfast downstairs - they were definitely a sight!

My brother came up and I put him in charge of giving the check and the marriage license to Rev. Jack. I think that was the only task he had as man of honor...

Well my mom was so concerned with going to take pics of the guys that she almost missed me getting into my dress...Anya started to help.

So starts the attempt to put my veil on...not real sure why they couldn't figure it out

Wedding Day, Cont'd
December 9, 2008

So we left the room (ON TIME!!!) and we get down to the lobby of our building and my mom HAS to take pics

So we get right out the door of the Grand Floridian and my mom says "Oh my god, I have to go back to the room" She wouldn't tell ME why, so we have to hold the limo for her. My brother tells me when we get into the limo that she had to go back to the room because she forgot the bag that had my ring in it, because we hadn't given it to the best man yet!!! That would have been good! LOL

We finally arrived at the WP!

The brides room right before. My dad kept saying nice things about me, and I was trying to hold back crying so I told him to stop saying nice things to me. So he just looks at me and says, "WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOUR HAIR!" And I was like, "What's wrong with it!!!???" He's like "I'm just not saying any more nice things" LOL Thanks dad!!!
