"Amuck, amuck, amuck!" A Pre-TR (link to TR in the first post)

Am I invited!!!!!!?
Sure! But leave the funky monkey at home.

Yeah really, I remember someones sig saying that it was set until next year...now who was that...? ;)
Gee, I dunno. :confused3

Actually, it's your age that is dating you! :rotfl:
 OK, I take it back. Send the monkey and YOU stay home.

If I'm dressing up, you are too! Come on, get in the spirit!!! :cheer2:
Why? So I can look as silly as you? :rolleyes1

My friend Kate made a kitty litter cake..it was so realistic and disgusting..YET amazingly hilarious and suprisingly tasty..once you really made up your mind that those "droppings" were truly tootsie rolls
Well, I think the kids would get a kick out of it so we'll see. IF I do make it, I'll be sure to post a yummy, appetizing pic for ya'll. :rotfl:

Thanks, Beth, for your nice reply to my post. I appreciate your offer for ideas to help with my planning for the trip to Vegas. I love spending time researching and planning trips and need all the help I can get for LV. Now I'm reading your June TR and enjoying it, of course.
Oh, sure. You're welcome. Glad you're liking the June TR. We had a lot of fun on that trip. I miss Pismo and that hotel. LOL

I realized that I started reading your pre-trip report and never finished or subscribed. I have now. I am so excited to read about your trip.

Thanks! I'm glad you're along for the ride. I'll make sure when we are there to pay extra close attention to the details on the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour so I can tell you all about it. Don't worry, I won't give away any "secrets" though. ;)

:welcome: to the DIS boards Aurora...man your a quick learner on the subscribed thread thing...it took me like a year to figure out how to do it:lmao:

Thanks. It's actually not a cake. That's pudding underneath there. It's so easy to make!
Ghosts in the Graveyard

Prep: 10 mins - Ready In: 1 hr 10 mins

1 pkg. (16 oz.) chocolate sandwich cookies
3-1/2 cups cold milk
2 pkg. (4-serving size each) JELL-O Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
1 tub (12 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed

CRUSH cookies in zipper-style plastic bag with rolling pin or in food processor.

POUR cold milk into large bowl. Add pudding mixes. Beat with wire whisk 2 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes. Stir in 3 cups of the whipped topping and 1/2 of the crushed cookies. Spoon into 13x9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining crushed cookies.

REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until ready to serve. Store leftover dessert in refrigerator.

To Decorate Graveyard: Decorate assorted cookies with decorator icings to make "tombstones." Stand tombstones on top of dessert with candy corn and pumpkins. Drop dollops of remaining whipped topping onto dessert to make "ghosts." (We used Ghost Peeps and that seemed easier to me.)

What a great recipe! I think I may attempt this for my DS classroom party this year! You did a fabulous job. Where did you find the Ghost Peeps, do they have those out? I love Peeps!

I bought the ghost Peeps from Target. They also had pumpkins, and black cats. :thumbsup2 I'd imagine Walmart, Walgreens and some of the grocery stores would have them too.

I just love this picture I found online of Mickey and Minnie in their Halloween outfits. So cute.

I know my trip is getting closer but I am ready to be there now. Right now. This very minute. Walking down Main Street checking out all the Halloween items in the store windows and heading for the corn dog cart. ;)

Me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I know I told you all that we were talking about going to Disneyland for the weekend in May well it looks like the trip is going to be moved up to either Feburary or March. Band review schedule gets in the way. Well that just makes my trip that much sooner right?

I was at Dollartree the other day and decided to look at their Halloween decorations and I was actually pleasantly surprised. They had this really cute sign.

I've got Disney and my trip on the brain right now so I made a list of things I know I don't want to miss. Sort of like the one I had my kids do way earlier in this PTR.

I'm not a real planner, meaning I'm not going to plan what day and time to do a certain ride or show, but there are things I don't want to leave without seeing or riding.
I haven't even played around with my RideMax software yet because I'm just not sure I'd even follow such a detailed plan. :confused3

So this is my list in no particular order:

Splash Mountain ~ I love this ride so it's a must do for me.

Thunder Mountain ~ This used to be a favorite of mine. Lately when I ride it I end up coming off with a headache so I've been skipping it. But I know the kids will want to go on it with me, so that's why it's on the list.

Matterhorn ~ Pretty much same as above. I could skip this ride, but I'll go on it for my kids.

Haunted Mansion ~ Needless to say this is now my favorite ride. Well, maybe tied with Pirates. I hope to do this one several times while we are there.

Tarzan's Treehouse ~ I cannot remember the last time I went up in this. It's just one of those things you don't want to take the time out to do. But we will this time.

50 Magical Years ~ Such a great show. And I've only seen it once so I feel like we should take time to watch it again.

Space Mountain ~ I also cannot remember the last time I went on this. And I'd really rather not go on it this time. LOL But my kids were begging me to go with them last time so........eh, we'll see.

Mulholland Madness ~ This ride freaks me out when it's making those turns up on the top!! And I always felt squished in it, but now that I've lost a few pounds I'll give it another try.

Monster's Inc. ~ I've only been on this once in all the time since it opened. One time. Why, you ask. Because the darn thing is ALWAYS closed when we try to ride it!!! So assuming we can catch it when it's actually working, we'll ride it again for the second time ever.

All the parades ~ I want to make sure to take time out for the parades while we are there. Next to Fantasmic, which is my favorite show EVER, I love the parades. I could skip the fireworks (blasphemy, I know) but the parades I must see. I just wish Fantasmic was playing too. Boo hoo.

Toy Story Mania ~ It's just such a cool ride!

Innoventions ~ I haven't been in there in ages. Last time I was almost bored to tears. LOL So we'll see if it's better then it used to be.

Mark Twain ~ We did a ride on the Columbia last time but never got around to the Mark Twain so that's on the list for this time.

Tom Sawyers Island ~ I'd like to spend some time on the island really exploring it. We've done it not that long ago, but we didn't stay for long. This time I'm hoping to spend more time over there.

Lilly Belle ~ This would be nice to be able to take a ride in it. I know others have said you only have to ask so we'll see. With such a large group, I'm not sure what they'll say.

Alice in Wonderland ~ Such a cute ride but the line is always so long. So we usually skip it. I'm hoping to be able to ride it at least once this trip.

Storyland Boat ride ~ This would be nice to try and get on it while the fireworks are going off. I read that they stop the boat so you can watch them. We'll see if we can time it just right.

So that's my list. There is more we will do of course, but those were just a few off the top of my head. :)

Me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too, me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:rotfl2: Gee, how do you really feel?? LOL

Hey, sooner is always better.
That sign is really cute! I was at our Dollar Tree and didn't see anything like that. Maybe I'll go back and look again just in case they put out more items.

It's funny to see the aisles in the stores because they've got Halloween in one aisle and Christmas in the very next one.

I agree that sooner is usually better but for once I wanted to go over my birthday. Yes I am being a big baby about this but I did. And I know. I was at Kmart the other day and it is like Thanksgiving, Christmas and Halloween are all thrown together. I don't like seeing the Christmas stuff this early.

Hey, I just realized today is September 24. That means in exactly one month from now it will be my birthday! :)
Yay, Scorpios rock! And yay for birthday cake. :cake: LOL

I think I'm definitely going to get a birthday button while we are there since it will be so close to my b-day. Nothing like letting the world know I'm getting older. But hey, it beats the alternative. ;)

OMG, how ironic I was posting about my birthday before I read your post!

I'm really sorry that it won't be right on your birthday. I've never gone on my b-day either. This will be the closest I've come and it will still be about 10 days before hand.

Is there any chance plans will change and you'd still make it in May?

The reason we are moving the dates is because DH works every other weekend and the weekend he has off DD has a marching band review. I don't want to burn his vacation days for a weekend trip. I would rather save vacation days for other times like this time of year when they are cutting hours.

So many thing could be said in response to this....

I'll be nice though.

A very merry unbirthday to you!

I agree about the cake, yum yum!

I am actually looking more forward to a weekend trip because we usually go during the week and off season so we miss out on so many things. Maybe this way I will get to see the parades and the fireworks and maybe even Fantasmic. That would be wonderful. And I could still pretend it's my birthday and get a birthday button.
