"Amuck, amuck, amuck!" A Pre-TR (link to TR in the first post)

ETA: Just called Disney Dining and learned that after Sept. 1st Cafe Orleans will no longer be doing breakfast. And Carnation Cafe didn't have the time I wanted so we'll either eat at Riverbelle Terrace, or snack on some goodies from the Bue Ribbon Breakfast.

Bummer about Cafe Orleans not doing breakfast! Is that a temporry thing or is that "from now on"?

And LOL about the day being planned around food!

I got the impression it's from now on. Too bad, the food looked really good from there. Oh well.

And yes, my day is totally planned around our meals. :rotfl: I don't know why. Maybe because I am on this diet, no wait, it's not a diet it's a lifestyle change with healthy eating. LOL Anyway, when I am on vacation, all bets are OFF! So I'm kind of making sure to book and plan for the places we really like. :thumbsup2

ETA: I just read someone else called and it's only for the slow seasons, whenever that is!! LOL

My daughter Noelle and I spent the day out running errands. Lots of grocery shopping, with some stops at Target, Walmart, and Kohls.

I was disappointed that they didn't have any Halloween stuff out yet. Guess I'm just too anxious. LOL

We did find a very cute Eeyore shirt at Kohls. It was $20 on sale for $8.99 so I bought it for her to wear in October on our trip. It looks so cute on her! Ah, to be young again, when everything you bought was pretty much guaranteed to look great. :rotfl:

I'll take a pic when I get a chance. Hope everyone else is having a good weekend so far.

I went to the mall today, and saw the Halloween stores fully stocked, but not open. What a tease!

It is finally cooling off......only 92 degrees! :lmao:

That is a tease! LOL I know there are two Halloween stores in Vegas that are open year round. Never been into them though. Maybe at some point I will.

Was it just 92 today?? Ugh, it felt so hot when we were out running errands. I think it was sort of humid or something. I was wondering what happened to the rain they said we were going to get??

I've come to the conclusion the weather forecasters here don't know what they are talking about. :rolleyes1 They always talk about rain and then nothing, not a drop. Well, not here anyways. :confused3

This weekend they had all sorts of info/shows on the Travel Channel about Vegas. I was watching some of them, and told Ruben how weird it seemed that it was all just about 25 minutes away.

I agree - vacations are definitely for enjoying the food too!

Ya know, we love going in Sept for the low crowds, lower hotel prices, and great weather. But this year it seems like there is just so much stuff that will be down while we're there... if we weren't planning on taking advantage of our AP's and going at least 2-3 more times before the year is up, I'd be pretty upset!

I was at Michaels on Friday and saw this and thought of you:

Yeah, a lot of stuff will be closed. I was pretty bummed at everything that was going to be closed while we are there. Not that we haven't seen it all numerous times, I just hate that it's some of my favorite things! (Aladdin, Fantasmic and POTC)

Actually there is some confusion over whether POTC will be closed in October. It was originally on the refurb schedule to close on 10/13. Then it was removed from the schedule so everyone assumed it was in fact going to be open.

Then just today I read a thread on the DL board saying that it IS still going to be closed but they just took it off the schedule because of all the complaints they were receiving. WTH?? How does that make any sense??

I'd be more angry if I didn't see it on the schedule before hand and then arrived only to discover it was closed. :confused3

Well, whatever. I'm glad we had APs and got to go as often as we did. And I hope ya'll are able to do the same. :)

That is so cute!!! Noelle does scrapbooking and we were looking at the Halloween items in Target today but they didn't have anything like that. I think I'll have to plan a trip to Micheals. ;)

Thanks for thinking of me. :goodvibes

I'm not caught up but just caught the tale end of this line of coversation BUT: The breakfast food on the plates of the folks eating at Tomorrowland Terrace looked and smelled really good. It's CS but like I said, it looked and even more so, smelled, GREAT!

I wish we would have eaten there... we ate some goodies at Main Street Bakery that were definitely only So-So in quality/taste.

P.S. I'm feeling a little better in the hand dept but still limiting my posts.

You didn't see me... :tiptoe:

I saw the Tomorrowland Terrace served breakfast but it didn't seem as "fancy" as the other places. LOL

Did you happen to try the cinnamon roll? Someone said that was good. I dunno. If any meal would be easy to save money on, it would be breakfast. In the past we've either just eaten at the hotel or if they didn't offer one, we'd bring our own easy snacks like cereal, muffins, trail mix, etc.

The only time we splurged on breakfast was in June with the Lilo and Stitch meal. That was fun and good. :thumbsup2

Glad to hear the hand is a little better......person that I didn't see. :rolleyes1

I didn't see travelmel either . . . . . .:sad2: :upsidedow

Esmeralda. I love her. One trip to Disneyland in 2003 I got a chance to visit for quite a while with the Esmeralda that day and she was so sweet. My oldest daughter has been Esmeralda twice a blond one but you know. The year the movie came out I bought her Esmeralda jammies and sewed charms on it that jingled. And then when she was in the 5th grade I made her the whyole costune skirt and everything. It was adorable.

Oh, that's neat. I bet she loved those PJs. :)

I like Esmeralda and Megara from Hercules too. They are both just fun, and spunky characters. I wish they would do more with them. But the Princesses always over shadow them. LOL
Not that I don't like the Princesses, I do, but you know, it would just be nice to see them more. Pocahontas and Mulan too.

That was one thing I loved about our first visit to Goofy's Kitchen. Pocahantas and Mulan were both there. We saw characters we normally didn't get to visit with like Jasmine and Aladin too. I like the Princess okay but there are other characters.

The one time we went to Ariel's Grotto it was Mickey and Minnie and that was great too. Now my kids are getting older they don't care as much about the characters. I do though.

When Hercules came out they did mini premieres and they had one here in town. We bought tickets to it. The girls were like 2 and a half and three and a half. We got pins with the tickets too. My girls would sit in front of the TV for movies so I figured we could get them to sit through a movie. I didn't take into consideration that at home we watch the TV with the light on. Needless to say we didn't see much of the movie.:goodvibes
