"Amuck, amuck, amuck!" A Pre-TR (link to TR in the first post)

What if you just wear a Halloween T-shirt. That's what I do. I got one from the Disney Store a couple of years ago, it is gray and black trim and then it had three halloween pictures, bat, pumpkin and something else I can't remember at the moment that are black sparkle.
That sounds so cute! I might just do something like that. It's cheaper too. LOL

I have the same shirt:thumbsup2 . Everyone loves it when I wear it in the parks.
I wish I could see it!! :yay:

I might look for some fun Halloween jewelry too once it gets closer. Maybe a fun bracelet or some earrings.

Maybe you could find something cute on the Dis-designers board... maybe make a set for your family?? Then you could double up and use yours on the Party night... ?
I love spending time on the DISign board! OMG, they are all so talented!! :worship:

I'm was thinking about making some tees for the whole family, but I'm afraid I'd mess them up. Trust me, if there's a way to mess something up, I will.

Some of the DISigns I've seen would be cute to decorate the hotel room or door with. When we went to WDW for a Ladies Only Trip, we stayed at Coronado Springs and I decorated our hotel window. It was so much fun.

There is a thread somewhere on the DIS that I saw once of people who decorate their hotel doors and windows and some of them were super cute. We aren't staying "on-site" though so it might seem weird or out of place.....

I don't know. I'll have to think about it some more. It's fun to look at all the DISigns though. :thumbsup2

I thought you liked food porn! :lmao: Well, there isn't any in the pre-trip, but I'm afraid there will be lots once the vacation is over. I'll throw some healthy snack in there for you too. ;)

*drool*food porn*drool*

Want some Disneyland food porn? :rolleyes1 Ok, here is a link to some pics I found the other day when I was doing a search. They are NOT my pics, they are just on a public account, but I sure did love looking at them, and drooling too!!! LOL

I wonder if this person is a DISer? I think DISers are the only ones who take pictures of their food! :lmao:

I think I just gained 10lbs by looking at those pictures.

Hey! Thanks for stopping by!
And I thought you liked food porn! Or wait, maybe that was.....um, never mind. :lmao: Well, there isn't any in the pre-trip, but I'm afraid there will be lots once the vacation is over. I'll throw some healthy snacks in there for you too. ;)

You know it's the other kind of porn that I like :hyper: at least I have a different kind of craving with that :rotfl:

Love the Halloween Party pics !!

The shirts we made had SOME complications:

1) personalizing... my DH figured this out. If it were left up to me I would have only been able to use "mom" or "sister" or "Mary" if we had somebody named "mary" in our group! LOL There are a lot of names already pre-done is what I mean... but my DH was able to change the wording on the dis-ign which ROCKED and we were "Bailey" and "the Mums" instead of "Sister" and "mom".

2) the cutting out! WOW ... that must have been hard. I would have no idea because my DH did it. In terms of "arts and crafts" it turns out I am the "arts" section and he is definitely the "crafts." In other words, I get the idea.. he executes. ;)

I would recommend one of those BIG SQUARE dis-igns because they would be easy to cut out. Literally.... I went down to my Michael's craft store.. bought the shirt paper, stuck it in my printer, printed the design, and ironed it on a shirt (that I washed before hand per directions on the Dis board). Done! Don't be too intimidated... I have faith in you!

Also, if you girls are staying off site but there are alot of you... DECORATE IT UP! Don't let being off site keep you from having the fun of being onsite.. take over the joint!

Thanks for the tips on the tees! I'm glad you guys got yours to work out nicely.

For our Disneyland Girls Only trip we'll be at HoJo, and we already talked about putting up some sort of decorations or signs on our doors. So that will be fun.
For this family trip though, I don't know. I might put up something, we'll see.

I've decided I'm going to order the Ridemax software!! :yay: It's only $15 and I'm curious to try it out and see if it actually works.

You'll have to let me know how it works out for you! I almost bought it for my trip last year, but then decided not to, because I knew the parks weren't going to be crowded.

Sure, I will. If nothing else it will be fun to play around with. LOL And you never know how crowded October will be, but I'm expecting it to be pretty busy.

Ohhhh Beth . . . . yoo hoo . . . over here . . . ..

have you looked at the calendar on the Disneyland site lately?

Pirates is no longer down for refurb on October 17th and 18th . . . .

YAY!!!!!!!!!! I hadn't noticed that!!!! Thank you so much for letting me know. It's actually going to be open the whole time we are there!! :yay:
I love that ride. Now the only thing that would make it complete is if Fantasmic and the Aladdin show would reopen too.........but I doubt it. ;)

OH!! After dinner at Cafe Orleans, we ALL have to head over to Pirates and ride it together. :dance3:

DEAL! maybe we can get the CM to give us our own boat! (I guess depends on how many there are of us!) Of course, if we say 10, in groups of 2 . . . .LOL rather than shoving five of us in a row . . .. .

Um yeah, none of that five to a row business. I hate being crammed in on the ride. No more then 3 to a row please. ;)

Right now we've got about 14 ladies signed up for the mini meet. Some I'm not sure about because I haven't heard from them to confirm, and I know Callie was working on going, so we could end up with even more. We might need two boats. :thumbsup2

I was over on the Disneyland website and noticed that they have improved and added to their page with all the Halloweentime information. I love it!! The page is so cute!

Halloweentime information
How CUTE!! I was at babies r us yesterday and they have all the halloween costumes out already. Was so tempted to buy one for Reya, but there was just too many to choose from. :confused3

Do they really?? :yay: Wow, that is early. I figured we wouldn't start seeing Halloween stuff in the stores until September 1st, once all the back-to-school supplies were gone.

I remember last September in Target (my favorite store!) there were aisles and aisles of Halloween decorations and costumes, and then one aisle over were all the Christmas stockings and lights. I felt like it was The Nightmare Before Christmas with the two holidays combined into one. :rotfl:

Well, after finishing my last trip report, I wasn't sure I would do another. I had fun working on it, don't get me wrong, I'm just not very good at them! :rotfl:

But we are planning another trip back to Disneyland/California Adventure in October. I'm looking forward to it.....and yet I'm not. Obviously I cannot wait to be back at Disney. That's a given. But sadly our annual passes will be expiring that month and we cannot afford to renew them. We are a family of 6 so that's just too much money, especially combined with the rising hotel, food and gas costs for each trip.

So we'll be going one more time as a family in October, then I'll be going for a few days on my own with the DIS Girls Only Trip in March, and that will pretty much be it for Disney for awhile. It's a sad thought.

BUT I'm not going to let it get me down. We've had some really wonderful trips with our passes and made some great family memories. I know there are some families who can't afford to go at all, so I am truly lucky we were able to do as much as we did.

And I know at some point we will be back in the parks as a family. You can't keep me away from Disney for too long..... ;) Maybe once the DCA refurbishment is complete in a few years. That would be awesome!! :yay:

OK, back to this Trip Report. I finally decided since it was our last trip as AP holders I simply had to do a report. Last time I started my pre-trip report it was about 2 weeks before trip time, so it feels a little weird for me to be doing one so far out, but I think it will be a way for me to savor the trip a little more if that makes any sense. LOL
Also I thought it would be a way to keep me busy during the long Las Vegas summer on days when it's just too hot to set foot outside.

So here goes nothing............
9.gif

Hello! I'm joining your report. But I need to catch up on 12 pages first. :)

I was sad when we had to let our APs expire. MY pre-trip report is 5 months before the trip...haha. I completely understand wanting to savor the trip a little more. That's pretty much why I started my report so early.

Thanks, I'm glad you joined us! :goodvibes
I love the scary stuff! Oh who am I kidding, I love it all, but we used to go every year to Knott's Scary Farm when Ruben and I were dating. So much fun!!! I love the haunted houses. Those are the best. :thumbsup2

One year Ruben and I were in charge of putting together a haunted house at the Rec Center near where he grew up. This was years ago, right after high school, but I still remember how much fun we had putting it together and then seeing everyone get scared. :scared1: :lmao:

LOL That was on Tom Sawyers Island. Well, now it's the Pirate's Lair or some such nonsense, but to me it will always be TSI.

Yeah, it's a fun movie. Not scary at all so it's perfect for kids. I LOVE the Fall scenes from the movie. I miss that.
I grew up in SoCal, but from 2004-2007 we lived in Northern MI where I have family, and one of the things I miss about being there is the air getting crisper and the leaves changing colors. That was so pretty. And everyone would decorate their yards with tons of pumpkins, corn stalks, bales of hay and scarecrows. It was really neat.

Here is Vegas, it's not the same. Fall looks like Summer, which looks like Winter which looks like Spring.

Well, that's an odd approach but it could work. Just wait until he's passed out then grab the wallet, book a trip and voila! :thumbsup2
Then when he comes to, insist that he said you could and must have just forgotten saying that. :rolleyes1

:rotfl:

I don't know about WDW but I know that DL didn't used to do anything for Halloween. Nothing. They didn't start doing decorations or a party there until 2005 I think is when it was.
So maybe WDW was the same way. :confused3

Halloween is rising in popularity as a holiday now and I think Disney knows a good thing when they see it. What better way to draw more people into the park then to offer Halloween parades, parties and other activites. It worked too! October is now one of the busier times.

In 2006 I went to WDW from the end of September to the beginning of October, and they were fully decked out for Halloween. We went to the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and it was fun, but man it was packed!

This year I think DL will have their Halloween decorations up around the end of September and keep them up through November 2 or 3.

Christmas at the parks is really fun too though. You'll like that. We've been to both DL and WDW at Christmas time and even I will admit it's a really special time to be in the parks. :)

I went to Knott's Scary Farm twice. It was so much fun! I got a sore throat from screaming though. The people jumping out were scary.

I lived in Socal for a year and a half. I really missed having seasons. I'm very midwestern and I need my seasons. Fall and winter are my favorites. While in Orange County I only got spring and summer over and over. We moved back to the midwest last year and unfortunately Fall was way too short. So hopefully this year it'll be longer.
