"Amuck, amuck, amuck!" A Pre-TR (link to TR in the first post)

More pics from last Halloweentime in Disneyland.

We went to see Tigger and this was the first pic we took with him:

DSCF3364-1.jpg

Then Tigger kind of stepped back and looked at the kids and shook his head. The kids were wondering what was going on, and the CM said "Is something wrong Tigger"?
He shook his head yes, then made a motion with his finger as if to say "Ah ha, I have an idea" and proceeded to rearrange the kids in a different order, so they looked like this instead:

DSCF3365-1.jpg

Clearly he was much happier with that arrangement because he wanted them to match his stripes! :rotfl: It was cute and we were all cracking up over it.

Sorry if I post a bunch of seperate responses. I know I should do multi-quote but sometimes that's too hard when I have so many pages to read.

Those pictures are adorable! And I love that the kids are wearing halloween colors.

What are their ages? In the first post you didn't actually list their exact ages.

How CUTE!! I was at babies r us yesterday and they have all the halloween costumes out already. Was so tempted to buy one for Reya, but there was just too many to choose from. :confused3

I loved babies R us for all their little holiday things. My big girl is too big for Babies R Us costumes of course she wants to be LaLa again aka Cinderella. I'm trying to talk her into Snow White. How's the book by the way? I was up until 1:00 am yesterday reading about 1/4 through it.

Laura

I thought since this was our last trip as a family for awhile, I'd ask each of the kids to make up a list of the things they each wanted to make sure to do/eat/ride before we left the parks.

Here is what each kid had to say........(not in any order)

~ADAM~
ToT
ride the Sun Wheel
skip Soarin (brat, he knows I love that ride! LOL)
see the pirate show on Tom Sawyer's Island
get a churro
spend time in Innoventions
Autopia
Star Tours
shooting gallery
eat a brownie funnel cake
Toy Story Mania

~NOELLE~
All of us go on ToT (that was because I won't ride it :rolleyes1 but I've done the one in WDW twice )
All of us go on Screamin (won't ride that either anymore, but I have in the past)
See the Aladdin show
eat cotton candy
eat a regular funnel cake with no toppings
eat a churro (can you tell this DD has a sweet tooth!)
go on Thunder Mountain
ride the Sun Wheel
go on Mulholland Madness

~LINDSEY~
ride on Snow White
go on Toy Story Mania
Space Mountain
Thunder Mountain
eat some cotton candy
eat some funnel cake
ride the Pirate ride
go on the Haunted Mansion
Spash Mountain
ToT

~HANNAH~
Space Mountain
Thunder Mountain
The Peach (she means the Orange Stinger. I keep telling them it's not a peach! LOL)
eat some cotton candy (guess we'll be getting cotton candy since it seems to be a popular choice)
Do the drawing (the Animation Studio, she loves learning how to draw different things)
go on the Pirate ride
Roger Rabbit ride
eat a churro

So now I need to make one big list and make sure we do all these things. :thumbsup2 I originally had them make these lists because they were bored and I wanted to give them something to do, but I think it's a fun idea and I might just make one of my own. ;)

ETA: Darn!!! I just checked the park schedule for October and found out that the whole time we are there the Aladdin show, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Sun Wheel and Fantasmic are all closed.
Guess I'll have to break that news to the kids and let them know there are some things on their list we won't be able to do. :guilty:
(sigh) Then again, I need to remember to just be happy that we get to go at all..... yeah, I need to keep telling myself that.

I'm with you....I don't ride ToT. It's one of my husbands favorites so once every few years I go on it with him...haha. I've been on the one at DCA twice. And I bit the bullet and went on the one at WDW on our last day there in January because I knew my husband would be sad if we missed it. I just don't like the feeling of falling. I do love California Screamin' though. It took me a couple years to work up the courage to try it and I hated it the first time...but now I love it.

Your kinds like the Sun Wheel? Do you ride the red buckets or the ones that move? I have never been on it and I probably never will...haha.

I'm afraid to see what things will be closed when we go in January. Probably a lot. I just hope Big Thunder, Space Mountain, and Screamin' are all open.

:scared1: Wow, you are being brave.
I still haven't been on the one in DCA. I've been on the one in WDW two, maybe three times, but I don't want to do the one here. I keep telling my family I don't need to because I already did the other one and they keep insisting it's different.

I just know they are trying to trick me......:sad2:

I might have to ride it though since it was on one of the kids lists that we all ride it together. Unless I can bribe her with something else.....:rolleyes1

I think I heard that at DCA it's the same sequence every time. Not sure if that's true or not because the two times I went were a year or so apart. The one at WDW is for sure a random sequence everytime. Also on the one at WDW, the elevator leaves the shaft and goes into the other dimension or whatever. The one at DCA doesn't do that.

Thank you travelmel and Cristabel for your input. I really appreciate it! It's so nice to get others opinions on things like that. :thumbsup2

Blue Ribbon Bakery:
I've been in here so many times and the line was always so long that I turned and walked back out, but I've seen pics of the goodies from there and decided on this trip I want to try something if for no other reason then to say I did. LOL

French Market:
This place has a new menu which I am eager to try. I've never eaten there before so I won't miss the old menu the way some people do. Apparently they had great fried chicken before. :confused3

I'm torn between the:

Plantation Citrus Chicken - Roasted chicken breast seasoned with citrus and cajun spices. Served with smashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and cheddar corn bread. $12.99
OR
Four-Cheese Pasta and Vegetable Gratin - A creamy blend of cheddar, smoked gouda, provolone and asiago surrounding tender pasta and smooth, subtle bites of Shiitake mushroom and cauliflower florets. Served with seasonal vegetables and cheddar corn bread. $12.49

They both sound good to me.

Riverbelle Terrace:
I've eaten there in the past, but not since they reopened. I'm curious to try their new sandwiches and see what they are like. I think they are pricey at $12-$13 but I think I'd like to try the turkey one.

Actually what I was thinking of doing is getting one sandwich from there and one chili bread bowl from Golden Horseshoe and splitting that with Ruben. Then we can each try both of those without getting too full.

Anyone ever had the chili bread bowl? It was supposed to be Walt's favorite.

Taste Pilot's Grill:
We've eaten here before and liked it pretty well. I'm not much of a burger fan so I usually get one of the chicken sandwiches. Ok, ok, I usually get the Aviator's Chicken sandwich which is the fried one. :rotfl:

Thanks for the tip on the Bleu Cheese burger travelmel! I was actually looking at that on the menu even though I don't eat burgers very often. But now I will stick to my chicken sandwich. Ruben is a burger person though, but I'll make sure to tell him to steer clear of the Blue Cheese one. :thumbsup2

Their fries are good too, and OMG they give you so much of them! Am I the only one who likes to dip them in the BBQ sauce they have there? :rolleyes1

But this time I'm also wondering about the Full Throttle Fries - Criss-Cut Fries prepared with TLC and everything we've got - Cheddar cheese, chili, diced onions, chopped tomatoes and sour cream $5.49.

Those sound really good! I wonder if they are though.....

Carnation Cafe:
We've also eaten here before and really liked it. It was in December and Ruben ordered a turkey pot pie with bits of cranberry in it. He said it was very good, which is really high praise from him since he usually doesn't say much about Disneyland food. LOL

I'm also planning to try the Loaded Baked Potato soup which I've heard is delicious. And the kids like the make your own PB and J sandwiches there.

Cafe Orleans:
I am very excited to try this place! I've always wanted to, but the menu doesn't appeal to the rest of my family so I'm happy that I'll get to try it out with some of the fabulous DIS Divas!! :yay:

White Water Snacks:
Never eaten here either, but I've heard good things about it so I'm going to give it a try. I like that the drinks are refillable and I've seen pics of the nachos and they look yummy.

Rainforest Cafe:
OK, I have to admit I like it here, but I think that's because my kids enjoy it so much so that makes me happy. I've heard reports of really bad service and I think if we'd experienced that then I'd be turned off too. But so far we've been lucky and our servers have always been wonderful. I hope this time is as good as the others. (fingers crossed!)

Oh, and I usually get an appetizer as my meal so it's not as expensive as some of their entrees which do seem overpriced. The pita quesadillas are good and filling.

Ariel's Grotto:
I'm going into this place with very low expectations. It sounds funny to say that but I've heard many bad reports on their service and so-so food. So I'm not expecting much at all.

Why go then? Well, because I admit it, I am a Princess fan and I just have to see for myself what it's like. If nothing else, I'm hoping to get some really special shots of the twins in their Princess dresses with the Princesses.

Of course all of this is subject to change. :lmao: And in the time between now and October it probably will. I get bored, or start to second guess something and then go and rearrange all my plans. Drives my poor husband crazy. ;)

We always wait in the long line at Blue Ribbon Bakery. I love their chocolate filled croissants. And their cookies. But I heard Nestle isn't a sponsor anymore so I'm worried they'll no longer have the things I love.

I was very sad to hear about the French Market. My husband always got the fried chicken. I always got the beef stew in a bread bowl. I'll miss it.

We always stop and eat at the Pizza Port in Tomorrowland. I've found that you get the most for your money there. The pasta portions are huge.

I was bored tonight, so I've been searching online for different costume ideas for the Trick or Treat party. I keep going back and forth on whether or not to dress up.
I'd like to, but then I'm not sure I want to hassle with it. :confused3 Especially when I've got to get the kids ready and into their costumes.

I'm sure I'll go back and forth many times between now and the trip. I do know that if I decide to dress up it will be something simple. No tights or heels for me. Hmmmm, what costume can I wear sneakers with?? :rolleyes1

Speaking of costumes, I thought I'd share a pic of the girls last Halloween. Lindsey was the White Witch from Narnia. Hannah was Snow White. And Noelle was a pirate, but I told her she looked more like a gypsy.
Adam didn't wear a costume and I'm not sure he will this year either. We'll see if I can talk him into it. ;)

DSCF3537.jpg

Are adults allowed to dress up for the party? I thought I read that only children were allowed to dress up. I know that on Halloween (or any day)they don't let adults wear costumes into the park. It has something to do with the actual costumed employees. They don't want non-employees looking like actual employees.

Hello! I'm joining your report. But I need to catch up on 12 pages first. :)

I was sad when we had to let our APs expire. MY pre-trip report is 5 months before the trip...haha. I completely understand wanting to savor the trip a little more. That's pretty much why I started my report so early.
Hi there! Thanks for joining me. :goodvibes :flower3:

I went to Knott's Scary Farm twice. It was so much fun! I got a sore throat from screaming though. The people jumping out were scary.

I lived in Socal for a year and a half. I really missed having seasons. I'm very midwestern and I need my seasons. Fall and winter are my favorites. While in Orange County I only got spring and summer over and over. We moved back to the midwest last year and unfortunately Fall was way too short. So hopefully this year it'll be longer.
I LOVE Knott's Scary Farm. I keep thinking about going since we'll be right there, so close. LOL But nah, no one else is interested but me and since our APs are going to expire we really need to devote our time to Disney.
We'll go when the kids are a little older.

I grew up in SoCal. Born in MI, but we moved when I was very young. So I didn't really get the seasons until we moved back to MI for those three years in 2004. I loved it.

Every Halloween we'd go trick-or-treating in Traverse City (which is about 20 minutes from where we lived in Lake Ann) and there are a few streets that have these old Victorian houses on them. So pretty! And they really get into the Fall decorations, plus there were colored leaves all over from the trees.
Honestly, I felt like I was on a set of movie or something. It was great.

Ah, but then winter comes too soon after Fall.....:scared1: :scared:

No problem about the responses. :thumbsup2
And thanks for the nice comments. :goodvibes I always go to Target to get their Halloween tees. Cute and cheap, just the way I like kids clothes to be. ;)

I should add their ages. I didn't realize I forgot.
Adam is 13, Noelle is 11, and the twins are 8.

They love the Sun Wheel! We've always done the ones that move. I've been on it two or maybe three times. I can never remember. In any case, more then once is too much!! :rotfl: But you have to at least try it to say you did. ;)

I hope not too much is closed for you in January. At least not the big rides.

The one at WDW is for sure a random sequence everytime. Also on the one at WDW, the elevator leaves the shaft and goes into the other dimension or whatever. The one at DCA doesn't do that.
The one at WDW is very cool with the whole theming of it all. I did like that part, I just hate the drops. :scared1:
I'll try just about anything once. So I have done rides like Screamin, and the Maliboomer (talk about a drop!), but then I always tell them once was enough for me. ;)

My kids REALLY want me to do ToT with them though, so I'm not sure I'll be able to get out of it this time.

Yeah, so many brands are not going to be there anymore for one reason or another. McDonalds, Stouffers, Nestle, etc. It's weird.

I love the Pizza Port! Their chicken fusilli is really good! :thumbsup2
I like eating there and at Rancho del Zocalo. But we've eaten at both those places before, so even though they are two of my favorites, I'm hoping to try some new places before our APs expire. I'm a creature or habit, but this trip I'm trying to break that. LOL

Yes, they are! :yay: But only for the party. So if you'll be in DL or DCA earlier that day, you cannot be in costume all day. You need to either go back to your hotel to change, or bring your costume and store it in a locker and change there.

And if you are planning to go back into DL after the party is over, then you have to take your costume off.

So this is only during the Halloween party and only at DCA. Other then that, you are correct and only kids are allowed to wear Princess dresses and the like into the parks normally.

I still keep going back and forth on dressing up. I think I'm going to look for a cute Halloween tee instead. Easier and cheaper.

I have seen ladies in red polka dresses (ala Minnie) in DL. And I can see why they don't let the adults dress up normally. Just wearing a Mickey Mouse t-shirt and my lanyard, I have had people ask me if I work there. No, I'm just a tacky tourist!

And the Halloween tee sounds good. I have a jack o'lantern shirt that I wear when I am not coerced into dressing up for Halloween. I've had it since I was pregnant with DS, when I really looked like a pumpkin, and now he's 20 years old. That's how I save money for Disney.

Yeah...I'm one of those rare people that actually likes winter, snow, and cold weather. Although I'm pretty sure it doesn't get as cold/snowy here in Nebraska as it does farther north, like in Michigan.

Hi Danielle!

Ahhhh, if only I had Scrooge McDucks money. (sigh) Well, it wouldn't last long because I'd spend it all at Disney. ;)

I remember watching him and his nephews (Huey, Dewey, and Louie??) on those Ducktales cartoons. That was forever ago! :rotfl:

I have a Halloween vest that I got on sale one year after Halloween. Can you tell I'm big on buying things on clearance and saving them for the next holiday? LOL That's how I already have the twins costumes! They were from Disneyshopping's clearance last October.
Anyway, the vest is a little conservative for my taste, but it's cute and it was less then 5 bucks.

I'll take a pic and post it later on.

I'm a huge creature of habit. It probably drives my husband crazy. I hate trying new things...especially with food. I'm way too picky. The chicken fuseli (sp??) is so good. I've actually be craving that lately!

I'm always hesitant to try something new because I think "What if I don't like it?? Then I'll be kicking myself for not going with my old favorite stand bys." :rotfl:

My mom and husband already know not to ask me if I want to try something new when we'd go out to eat. If they ask, I will say no. They have to just take me there so I don't have a choice. Then I'll complain the whole time about how I don't want to eat there.

And I have to admit, more often then not, I end up liking it. But I don't tell them that......:rolleyes1

Um, hello everyone. My name is Beth and I'm addicted to travel size items. I'm not sure when this addiction first began, but it's been going on for awhile now.
Whenever I am in a store that sells travel sizes I have to buy at least one or two items, even when I don't need them. I also send away for free samples in the mail because I just love the cute little samples sizes as well.
I haven't bought any travel size items for a week now, but I'm going to the store tonight and well, I just hope I can resist.
Thank-you for listening. :)

OKay, so maybe that's a tad dramatic, BUT I do have way too many travel size items. And I do buy them more then I should. Here is just what I found in a baggie under my bathroom sink:
DSCF5290.jpg

I don't dare go searching through the closet to see what's in there. :scared1:
I just like having little travel and trial size items for when we travel. They are so cute. :upsidedow But I guess I'd better cool it for while since we won't be taking all these little Disney trips anymore once our APs expire. :(

So no more travel items!!!!

Starting tomorrow because I am going to the store tonight......:rolleyes1

Laura
What book is this? It's been forever since I've read any good books. I used to read all the time. Not sure what happened. I guess the DIS is what happened!! :surfweb: :rotfl:

I have gallon sized baggies full of travel stuff too! I think I have a similiar problem/addiction....haha.

Oh good, it's nice to know I'm not alone in my addiction. :rotfl2:

Right there with you ladies. A lot of them come home with me from vacation, too. It was funny, when Teresa (CrossFamily) and her kids came up to our hotel room in Atlantic City, her son asked me if we take home the soaps and shampoos and I said yes. He said they always do too. I think T was embarrassed, but it's not like taking the towels, right?
