"Amuck, amuck, amuck!" A Pre-TR (link to TR in the first post)

Ugh, I took my two older kids out tonight to do some back to school shopping. Mainly clothing. It is so expensive. I was eager to have school start again, but getting ready for it almost requires a small bank loan.

Just a small sample of what needs to be done:
4 new pairs of shoes
4 hair cuts
4 new backpacks
new clothes for all
and of course the four wonderful (and LONG!!) lists of classroom supplies

I know I shouldn't complain. I mean this is nothing new, it's the same drill every year. I guess it just always comes as a shock to me. It's like child birth, I had blocked out the pain of last year's back to school shopping and forgotten how expensive it can be.

Oh well, it's gotta be done. And the kids are pretty good shoppers. They aren't picky and will help me look for the sales.

I'm just wondering if this will end up cutting into my Disney budget. Plus our mini van needs some maintenance work done so I might have to rethink a few things.
I guess we'll wait and see. If so, that's ok. At least we'll still be in Disney!!

I know what you mean! Just looking at them makes me want to be there.

In my case, I wish it would hurry up and get here and yet I know once it's over, that will be it for awhile. So I can wait.

Once school starts here, things will go by much faster. It's always so busy then.

I like it too. Obviously it's not mine. I could never take a pic that good! My camera sucks at night shots. I did a Google search and it came up. But I couldn't resist putting in my sig, for a little while anyway. It's one of my favorite rides.

I was doing some cleaning today out in the garage and I found an old picture frame from when I went to MNSSHP back in October of 2006!

I remember buying that frame and carrying it all the way back to MI on the plane because I was afraid to check it for fear it would break. Then I'm not sure what became of it. I never put it on display. I guess it just got tucked away in some closet and then when we moved, it got stuck out in the garage. It was in a box labeled Christmas. LOL Must have got put in there by mistake.

Anyway, I was so surprised to find it! It was still in good shape too. I dusted it off, took a few pics and now it's in my china cabinet with my Disney snow globes. It still needs a picture in it though.

It's got Goofy and Donald as ghosts:

And Mickey as a grave digger, and Pluto following a trail of candy:

The little purple sign says Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party 2006. I'm so glad I found it. And now I can't wait to see what sort of Halloween souvenirs will be for sale at Disneyland!!

I can't believe I've just had it packed away since I bought it.

Everyone needs new sneakers/shoes, clothes and of course the supplies. No supply list as of yet. We start the last tuesday in August and I seem to always get the teachers that never send a supply list. I would much rather get everything now before school starts because by that time everything is gone and hard to find. I love your HM picture too.

I know what you mean. I only have supply lists for the twins. The older two I'm not sure when I'll get those. Probably the first week of school like last year. And they each have 6 different classes with 6 different teachers. So I had a lot of different lists for each class to keep track of!

And the first week of school I go blind on paperwork from each one of the teachers too. Oh well, at least it keeps me busy and will make the time pass quickly.

I was bored tonight, so I've been searching online for different costume ideas for the Trick or Treat party. I keep going back and forth on whether or not to dress up.
I'd like to, but then I'm not sure I want to hassle with it. Especially when I've got to get the kids ready and into their costumes.

I'm sure I'll go back and forth many times between now and the trip. I do know that if I decide to dress up it will be something simple. No tights or heels for me. Hmmmm, what costume can I wear sneakers with??

Speaking of costumes, I thought I'd share a pic of the girls last Halloween. Lindsey was the White Witch from Narnia. Hannah was Snow White. And Noelle was a pirate, but I told her she looked more like a gypsy.
Adam didn't wear a costume and I'm not sure he will this year either. We'll see if I can talk him into it.

What if you just wear a Halloween T-shirt. That's what I do. I got one from the Disney Store a couple of years ago, it is gray and black trim and then it had three halloween pictures, bat, pumpkin and something else I can't remember at the moment that are black sparkle.
