"Amuck, amuck, amuck!" A Pre-TR (link to TR in the first post)

Uh oh, that could be dangerous! ;) We have one really close too. Less then 5 minutes in fact. It's a good thing they are so expensive or I'd be there way too often!!! LOL

Actually for today only all of their restaurants are celebrating 30 years of service so all cheesecake slices are only a $1.50 each. That is such an awesome deal since they usually run between $6 to $8 each.

Too bad it's dine in only or I might have had to break my diet for that!! :rotfl2:

Here is the pumpkin cheesecake and the pumpkin pecan cheesecake they sell starting October 1st: (hope these pics show up, I just copied and pasted them from online)

Also if you have a Sam's Club, they sell a whole Cheesecake Factory pumpkin cheesecake for around $13. We usually get it to serve for Thanksgiving.

And for anyone reading this who's got a DL trip coming up and would like to go to the Cheesecake Factory, they opened one not far from DL at the Anaheim Garden Walk: http://www.anaheimgardenwalk.com/

Love love LOVE the matching mickey (to his lovely minnie's) shirt.. and a bah-gin to boot! Too cool.

I really want to see Mama Mia.. it looks good and I like a GOOD (read: spunky, fun, not boring) musical. Loved Hairspray the musical... but loved the original though... maybe a SNITCH more.

Keep it coming.. though I'm not quite in the mood for Halloween (no fall smell in the air) ... I'm weird that way. I like things "in season" so to speak. LOL I may revisit this pre Trip in the fall!
I somehow managed to completely miss this post until just now. So weird. I must be getting old or something!! I thought your other post about the dining was your first post here. Oh well, let me officially welcome you and thank you for reading. :flower3:
Even if it isn't Fall yet. ;) I know what you mean about that "fall smell" but here in Vegas it doesn't really matter much, so I can be in the mood for it whenever. :rotfl: I just can't wait for the start of school to be over because then all the school supplies will disappear from the stores to be replaced with Halloween items. :yay:

Anyway, thank you for the comment on the Mickey/Minnie tees. I was happy to have found those!

Let me know if you see Mamma Mia. It was definitely not boring, lots of fun scenes and some humor in there. :thumbsup2

Hi! I was just replying to a post of your from earlier that in my old age I somehow missed. :rotfl: Or maybe the heat here has just fried my brain seeing as how it is around 106 just about every day. :sad2:

Thanks for the tip on CoCo's. I don't think I've ever been there, but I do know we have one here. Hmmm, maybe I'll have to get both and do a taste comparison. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Hello! Quick question am I crazy because I want to stay offsite and not at the Disneyland Hotel?

Hello! Quick question am I crazy because I want to stay offsite and not at the Disneyland Hotel?

Well, there's not really a quick answer..... I guess it depends on where offsite you are thinking of staying? :confused3

As long as it's still close, and nice, then I'd say no, you're not crazy. Offsite at DL is NOT the same as offsite at WDW, since some of the hotels are just as close and as nice as the DLH.

The reviews I've read of DLH are kind of hit and miss. Meaning they aren't always positive. So I've never been tempted to stay there.

Now if it was the GCH then that might be different. ;) Although I think their rooms are overpriced for what you get.

It's really just a personal choice and a matter of what's important to you. I'm almost never in my hotel room unless I'm asleep so to spend a lot doesn't make sense in my case.

Why, what's up?

That is a great deal on the flight! Or at least it seems like it to me. LOL Do you have an entertainment card? You can get a good deal with those at the HoJo sometimes.

Nope, no entertainment card for me! And it is a really good deal on flights. I do have to go at kind of odd hours, and I'd be leaving on a Thurs and coming back on a Monday.

So you think you're funny...... hey, look over there!

:rolleyes1

Actually, I KNOW I'm funny. :lmao:

And if you're gonna kick me in the bottom you should borrow my pointy hooker boots. ;)

Were you happy with the winner? I thought she was just so young. I actually kind of liked Emma, the one who got sick part way through. She looked a lot like Reese Witherspoon too.
I'd love it if there was a touring version that came here!! I think Noelle my 11 yr old would love it too. She watched the show as well.

I really like Bailey, she was definitely spunky enough to play Elle. It wore me out just watching all her energy on the TV. I didn't think Autumn looked young enough to play Elle. Emma does look a lot like Reese.

I'm going to send you a PM about the hotel in a sec here.....

Yeah, she did have tons of energy. Autumn did seem a little stiff in the role, but her singing was amazing. Even the director or who ever he was (can't remember his name) said no one else sang it better. But I think Bailey just had the right look which helped a lot. I hated Autumn as a blonde.

I was looking at the different hotels an motels in the area. I have afriend that swears by Stovall's Bewst Western, she stays there every year and four nights just runs a little over what one night at the DLH does. We always stay at the DLH and I want something different and most importantly to spend less. Hojo's looks good it is one third of the price of the DLH for the Disneyland view. And I have been reading the reviews and the ones for the Hilton are really good. Then there is the Carousel and the Candy Cane. I am late to be changing my mind but my goodness. It is about $1800 for the two of us to stay at the DLH with our 4 day park hoppers. See what I mean abou the price?

Thank you so much for the info! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

You should get some and then we can bring them to Disneyland and leave your husband with the kids, while we go to the bar at House of Blues. :lmao:

Autumn really did have her voice going for her. I agree that she didn't look good as a blonde!

Yeah, I don't blame you. How much time do you really spend in your room? If the answer is not much, then maybe you should think about staying else where. :confused3

Even if you save half the cost, that's money that can go towards a really nice souvenir, or something else that will last longer then a hotel stay, kwim?

I know this trip is special for you, so maybe you could take that money you save on a hotel room and go shopping for a figurine or snow globe or whatever that you can always look at and remember your time there.

Good luck with your decision. Just make sure if you do end up some where other then the DLH that it's a nice place or you'll be kicking yourself! Stovall's got some iffy reviews on tripadvisor, so I'd think twice before booking there. But Candy Cane Inn is supposed to be really pretty and they even have upgraded rooms if you still wanted to splurge and yet not go as high $$$ as Disney.

:rotfl: Something tells me that might not go over to well with him. :lmao:

I hope that info helps! Let me know what ends up happening. I'll keep my fingers crossed. :wizard:

That's my thought. And I plan on looking at trip advisor before I make my final decision. Part of the reason I don't want to stay at the DLH is I was so sick last trip I have horrible memories.

Oh, well then I really don't blame you. Check out some other places. Who knows, you might find a new (cheaper) favorite. :wizard:

That is my hope. I am looking at the Doubletree. We once stayed at the Hilton in Orange and it was wonderful. One of the best things was we weren't right there. It was quieter.

OMG, how funny. We've stayed at both those places. :rotfl: (this was when we first got our passes and before we found our favorite hotel in Buena Park)

The Hilton was nice. We got a great deal so I was happy with that. The only thing that made me mad was I specifically told them when I made the reservation that we needed a room with the sofa sleeper and two double beds. When we got there, we got a room with a sofa sleeper and a King bed. Ummm, not enough for our family.

They were really nice about it and told me that you can only "request" certain things like that when you make a reservation but it's not guaranteed. What?? Then I wouldn't have booked with them since I had to have enough beds!
They ended up giving me two roll aways free of charge and luckily it was big enough for both to fit in there so it worked out. Other then that, the actual hotel was quite nice. And not too far at all.

The Doubletree was something we got on a Priceline bid. I ended up with two rooms, connecting with 2 beds in each room. Very nice place. More geared towards business people then families with young kids imo. But we just slept there so it was no big deal. The do have chocolate chip cookies that they left in our room that were some of the best I've ever had.

And it's just DH and I. In my internet eternal planning I "found" the Crown Plaza and it sounds really nice for $109.00 a night. Do you by anhy chance know anything about that one? You are a treasure trove of help. We were burnt real bad one year when we stayed at the Hampton. OMG it was the worst place we have ever stayed at. The property is no longer the Hampton. I forget what it is now but awful is way too nice of a description.

Well, unfortunately that one I can't help you with. Never stayed there. That's a good rate though.

Make sure when you book to ask if there is a parking fee. We went one night for the Girls Only trip and got a hotel from Priceline. It was ok and we got a decent rate of $85 with taxes and fees.
BUT then when we got there, we found out there was a $15 parking fee!!! That's nuts. And the parking garage was crappy. Tight, dark and dirty. It was a daily fee too so it's good we were only there for one day. I'd hate to be staying there for a week. That would really add up.

Another nice place we've stayed at is the Residence Inn Anaheim Resort.
http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/snaag-residence-inn-anaheim-resort-area-garden-grove/
I liked it a lot but some of the recent reviews on tripadvisor were less then favorable so who knows if it's changed. I remember the room was nice and big with a separate living room area, and kitchen area. They had a hot breakfast in the morning too.

Good luck! It's hard to make a decision. There are soooo many to choose from!

Hi MommaU4,

I'm late but I will be back. I have a lot to read!!!:surfweb:

You can do it!!!! For the DIS Girls Only trip we have a way of using gentle persuasion and "stripper" shoes to convince the hubbys to go along with the plan! :rolleyes1

Maybe I should loan you a pair from our collection to help with the cause. ;)

For the true DISer at heart we've got the DIS Lime Green, also known as Tinkerbell Green:

But if the situation calls for something more drastic we've got Disney Fire Engine Red:

Or Mickey Ears Black:

:rotfl: Or I could just wish you the best of luck and hope you get to go again before your passes expire! :wizard:

OMG! Stripper shoes! My DH's favorite!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:
