Hi-

2 in our party will be traveling coach from Philly on Amtrak - the Silver Meteor. Does anyone know if this train offers free wifi and outlets for laptops?

Thanks!

No Wi-fi onboard (it's in some stations, including Philadelphia). At-seat outlets are likely but many cars still do not have them.

Well that's a bummer. I thought for sure there would be wifi by now.

Thanks.
Deb

Have you taken coach from Philly before? If not be aware that the restrooms in the coach cars tend to get dirty quickly and are seldom if ever cleaned during the trip. We took coach once years ago but never again. We still go to WDW ever year on the train but get a deluxe sleeper now.
PM me if you need any train tips.

What a great idea - The Auto Train from Philly. Thank you for the idea!!!

The Auto Train does not run from Philly.

It's only two stations are Lorton, VA and Sanford, FL.

You can take regular Amtrak service from Philly to FL, no cars, a few stops, pay for food, etc.

Hey all,
We're thinking about taking the train from Orlando to Philly (yes we live in orlando and going in the wrong direction :) ). The silver meteor seems to have the best time. Any tips, tricks, "don't dos"? Will have a 2 year old with. Thanks.

PS. wish they had wifi.

That's an awfully long time to have a small child on a train. Even if you get a sleeper, there are a lot of ways a 2 year old can make this a miserable trip.

My tip would be to fly.

I would pack a small cooler for drinks and snacks along with some small games/toys to keep the little one occupied. How about a portable DVD player for some movies?
