Amtrak rate went up!

Boohoo! I have been waiting to buy my tickets from Raleigh to Kissimmee until my income tax comes on Friday. Until today, it was showing $118 round trip AAA fare for me and my son. Now, it is like $150!! Looks like the leg from Raleigh to Kissimmee is what went up. Do you think the price will go back down or am I stuck?

Thanks but none of them worked! My son is 1/2 price because he is a child, and I have AAA, which I will use. I didn't expect the rate to go up this soon(thought 30 days like airlines)

Seems to be that Amtrak has seasons like the resorts. Always higher in summer, alittle cheaper spring and fall and way cheaper in winter. We usually go to WDW in the fall but I watch the rates all year and use AAA for its discount. Will only travel by train, so we don't have much choice on price, got to do what you got to do. Good luck.

hi - i just booked boston to kissimmee with a sleeper and it was 486.75. its only 1 way for 1 adult and 1 child, aaa rate. we are doing the roomette (241.00) which includes meals for the trip and i upgraded to business class boston to nyc for the electric outlets. (august 7th)

I’m planning my first Disney Trip now . I’ll be coming from NYC… Is it worth the extra for a sleeper? And what is business class as opposed to coach (because I do not see in on the AT reservation list)… I’ll also be using my AAA card. do they offer a EMS discount?

Also does Disney resort pick you up at the train station?

as there are just 2 of us the sleeper is well worth it - you get meals included when you book the sleeper - they have a dining car on the nyc to florida train also you get a private sleeping area (they are bunks) and a private toilet (its right in the room so you have to leave if privacy is an issue) it will be with 14 year old nephew and I. we got the aaa rate and it saves 10% on the base fare. I booked now as I wanted to be sure to get a sleeper and they tend to sell-out.
The business class : Business Class is the minimum class of service on Acela Express and Metroliner and is offered as an upgrade to Coach Class seating on many of our long-distance and short-distance trains. Every seat is reserved, with ample legroom and many amenities.
Amenities vary, and may include:
Standard AC electrical outlets for every pair of seats
A complimentary non-alcoholic beverage served in the Cafe Car (Available on many short-to medium-distance trips. Not available on Acela Express and Metroliner.)

disney does not provide transport from train but we used as shuttle service last time - will do the same this time or take a cab.

How do you reserve or get the shuttle is it "fool proof" 'cause I've never been down that way.

I think it was one of the major limo services - like Tiffany or whomever is best at the moment - try googling amtrak transfers orlando/kissimmee

Amtrak contracts with a bus/shuttle service. You can make arrangements ahead of time or wait until you get there. I got off the train in Orlando and got on a shuttle--$20 (plus tip) from the station to BWV. Can't beat the price.
