America's Funniest Videos taping at MK

It's my DH and DS 4.5 new favorite show. My DS laughs so much. We are going at the end of the month; that would be such a fun thing for them to do together.

It will take place at night and run throughout the night until they finish. They were looking for 1200 extras. Half of the extras will be seated. The other half will be standing throughout the entire taping which could last 5 to 6 hours.

I was there that day, too, but didn't stay too long because I couldn't see the monitors they used to play the clips from where I was standing. Tom Bergeron actually did manage to be funny a couple of times while the cameras were off

The whole "branch in the crotch" thing? Hehehehee...

I only saw the monitor briefly from my fist position- then it was "move back- fill the street" and never saw ti again, but that's okay- all the best clips were used in the first season anyway- haven't seen anything since that stands up to those! And NOBODY has been bettter than Bob Saget!

BTW, Gainsville, eh? Ever hear of a place called "Bugtussle"?

I hope that the Wed taping was better run that the Tues taping at AK...we were told it would go 6-10, lined up at 5:30 w/the 400 other people and they didn't start even checking folks in until after 7. At about 8 our group got led back to Dinorama and told what was going to happen (ride Tricertops for the next 6 hours) and that it would run until at least 1 or 2 am. With small kids, I immediately asked to leave as they would have been toast on Wed. We had to be escorted out of the park. Due to their lack of organization, it sounded like lots of people bailed on Monday as well and they didn't get many shots...I wonder how many left Tuesday too.

We were in MK on Wed anyway and saw all the staging set up and the directors chair area in the gardens and wondered how terrible the night would end up being for the "lucky" 1200 who did the taping. Luckily, we left the park early and had a fireworks cruise that night to watch them from the lake instead of the hords of people in MK.

This is the first time I ahd done anything like this and some of the opthers who had done such before commented that this one was run poorly and very disorganized. We made out okay on Wednesday, as you cna read in my report! <G> but I understand how you would have been pretty irritated by the time switchign you got stuck with! I *knew* it was an all-nighter for me!
