Americans and Canadians culture Q&A Thread.

Canadians, do you have a secret remedy for the common cold that Americans don’t know about? I currently have a bad cold tonight and would love to know if you guys secretly discovered a cure unbeknownst to us Americans. Canadian soup ideas would cheer me up.:duck: :laughing:

Does Manitoba know that Alberta has it's maples? :)

Does Canada know that we've got their geese in the United States? And that Canada has our black bears?

I'm thinking in Washington they're not too happy that we've got their Dungeness Crabs from BC to California.

I think we only keep the geese warm in the winters as a service ... Canada, I would like the black bears back please ...

Nah - we've got non-migrating groups of Canada geese here in California. I guess they like the mild year round weather. And they are nasty things - eating half their weight in vegetation and bugs daily and leaving it behind as droppings.

We can work an exchange for the bears ...

NyQuil, orange juice, Lipton Chicken Noodle, hot tea with honey and lemon and sleeping with a humidifier in your room. :scared1: Oh snap...I wasn't supposed to tell him that, was I?

I’m Jewish so I have to go with chicken soup and matzoh balls!

I don't have much to contribute...but I love Canada Geese! They're beautiful and I want to pet one, but I keep my distance haha

Buckleys…tastes awful but it woks ;)
I was just coming here to say this. Definitely Buckley's. It smells like pine sap, tastes like it too, but it absolutely works!

For Canadian soups, you could try the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup from Le Cellier in Epcot. I have made it and it is super good.

Another Canadian soup you could make would be split-pea soup from Quebec.

Hope you feel better soon.

How many cobra chickens would you like me to send you?

We have a lot of Canada gooses around here, and usually if I give them a couple feet of breathing room, everybody's happy. But on my walk yesterday I had three different ones hiss at me! That's probably more than in the past 3 years combined.

Hmmm sure seems like it’s been a slow news cycle for the last 24 hours….

I know we can’t talk about it, but I had to release the pressure building in my head so this is my compromise lol

I’m glad a pp knew the correct name for a Canada Goose—-Cobra Chicken lol

It has been so slow that when my husband mentioned this morning that nothing happened in the news last night, I was like, "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THERE WAS NO NEWS???" And his excuse was that I was sleeping. That is no excuse whatsoever. He should know that I should always be woken up for no news...as they say, "No news is good news!"

Back to cobra chickens...when we were in DC a few months ago, there was a person with a young kid in a stroller, driving the stroller up in front of the Canada geese...head/face height with the kid. I mentioned to her that they can turn aggressive and that she might not want to be quite that close.

I texted my daughter and my husband to tell them there was no news lol
