Check out this Mickey Mouse luggage from American Tourister: http://shop.americantourister.com/l...-28"-hardside-spinner/676114757.html#start=12

Has anyone purchased this? I know it is pricey, but I was curious if the quality is on par with the price? Also, is it lightweight compared to other luggage of similar size?

I have it on the possibility list to get for a family member for Christmas, but am looking for some guidance and figured the people on this board would be the best place to turn.

I have the 21inch spinner, in the Mickey Mouse. Quality is great. I don't think I would consider it lightweight though. For a carryon it's great, but I think the large one might be a bit heavy once it's full. It's adorable though, I love it!!! TSA even complimented it when it went through the scanner last week.

Thanks for the feedback. I am surprised that I can't really find any reviews online. I love the design/look of the luggage.

I really like this! Is $~140 the usual price? I also see a soft shell 21" that might be better for the kids. These bags would get the kids motivated to help and save my back.

I don't have the Tourister but the Heys Mickey. Carry on is fine but if you check it in you'll get it back scratched. After a few check-ins and it turns ugly.

I have the Heys 26" Donald and it isn't that much difference in weight at all. But I agree, it's okay as a carryon but once you start checking it, there are deep scratched, and deep scrapes of paint off. I don't mind as Donald is my buddy and holds up otherwise.

From my family member that works the airline, he wasn't thrilled about my grandson using it as it is pulled for a hand search from the belt. I am not sure if it is the x-ray thing is not as good as a material scan, or just they have more issues with people and contraband in hardshell.

He didn't care about the search, but at 40lb limit, it was almost at a sit on it to zip. I think it is more the way they packed. I use Ebag packing cubes and have no issues zipping it.
