American Sports Center to DLR?

I rarely get to go down south to Disneyland, but my sister's volleyball team has the chance to go down to the Anaheim Sports Center for qualifiers. Three-day weekend in April.

I've supplied the coaches with all the good information (where to stay, etc) and they still haven't made up their minds for where they want to go. Supposedly its some run-down motel on S. Anaheim Blvd on the other side of the Sports Center.

Seems someone wants to be as far from Disneyland as possible so the girls don't get sidetracked.

Anyone that lives in the area: is the American Sports Center within running distance? I'm a Cross Country runner, so I could probably handle it, but is there a way to run under the freeway?

Absolutely. From the Sports Center, you'd head South (or is that West?) on Anaheim Blvd, run a couple lights to Disney Way (just after you pass under the freeway), make a right, then run straight down that street (not even a mile) and you'll hit Disneyland. Very short trip. You could walk it and be there in probably 20 minutes or so.

Not sure what hotel they're talking about. I don't recall anything right by the American Sports Center. There are some nice hotels on Anaheim Blvd just on the other side of the freeway.

Be ready for the noise level at the Sports Center. It's just a big warehouse that they turned into a million volleyball, basketball and soccer courts. We used to have our fencing classes there and it was all we could do to hear our instructor. Very loud! And no air conditioning, either, so hope for cool weather.
