I think that he said he never would have been able to handle the pressure before.

I've read that contestants aren't allowed to be under any other professional contracts while they are competing. Adam may have been under various contracts with various theaters before, and the timing was right this time. I don't know, I'm just guessing.

According to Paula, next week's theme is Disco and she will be choreographing the group number. lol

The show STILL ran long last night even with the changed judged commentary. Thank God for DVR.

I finally figured out what it is about Lil's singing that I can't stand. It's her accent. She pronounces words oddly. "Your" becomes "yo", "Will" becomes "wiw". It makes her singing very unpolished when she can't sing the words correctly.

I don't know about her enunciation while singng but her SPEAKING voice makes me cringe.... :scared:

I have to highlight this because I totally agree with what you are saying here.

I love Adam Lambert..he is a out of this world showman and knows how to take control of the stage and make it his!

I don't get all the complaining about his sheirking though. Tons of very well known musicians sheik, Steven Tyler, is a big shierker and look at his popularity. :confused3

I said it in the very beginning and I will say it again Adam reminds me of a very young Freddie Mercury, the looks, the voice, the mannerism....he has it all and whether he wins AI or not Adam Lambert will go far!!!

As far as tonight I am hoping Matt or Lil goes, I haven't liked them since the beginning and each week I dislike them more and more.
I am also OK with Anoop going home although he seems like a really cool guy.

Can't stand him either. I hate shrieking singers. Just because someone is popular doesn't mean everyone loves them.

I see nothing diva-ish or obnoxious in him at ALL.... :confused3 Maybe you're seeing confidence and getting that confused???? I find confidence a major turn on and cockiness a major turn off....

He mentioned earlier in the season that he's in this for the money, heck most people ARE. He's not found that up till now, that's why he's there. He could be a working actor till he dies... American Idol can make him a STAR.

I don't get that from him either (and I am not a fan of his at all). I think he looks like he is really a nice guy.

I agree. I'm not a huge Adam fan but let's face it, everyone else is boring boring boring and it's crystal clear he will win. There's not really any reason to even have these shows every week anymore (and that became apparent several weeks ago). A big shocker would be if he didn't win - as if that's going to happen:rotfl:.

Well let's just end the show now then. :confused3 I don't think everyone else is boring and based on dial idol results neither do others. I actually will be upset with whoever leaves now with the exception of Lil (yes, I will even e upset if Adam leaves). This show is a long ways from being over.

I wasn't here during the live chat last night. Am I the only one bothered by Simon not getting to comment on every singer? If they have to limit it to TWO because they were stupid enough to add a 4th UNNECESSARY judge, then the other three should take turns. Simon is the only one I can stand to listen to!!!

I didn't like that either, Simon is the only one that I can really stand to listen to.

It bothered me to that Simon was not allowed to speak to everyone.
Its not fair to the singers either.
Yeah he can be harsh sometimes, but at least he completes a thought w/o throwing in Dawgs and fluffy bunnies and get then distracted by shiny things.
(speaking of shiny... Paula's jewelry... Its.... Large?)

:lmao:

Simon's opinion is the only one that matters. I thought Kara would really add to the mix with her songwriting/producing background but I just find her annoying for the most part. I think she is "trying out" for Randy's job. My money is on Randy getting the axe next year. I would love a rotating guest judge for the panel. I don't think they can have a 4 judge panel though because they are constantly going over the allotted time.

I didn't watch last night but caught all of the performances on rickey.org today. I think either Adam or Danny will win and am afraid that Allison and Kris will finish third. My only interest now is to see if there is another "Idol moment" this year since I'm not head over heels about anyone. For me, the only Idol moment was Adam's Tracks of My Tears with Allison's - Papa Was a Rollin' Stone coming close.

YMMV of course depending on who you really like. If you're an Adam fan, then I'm sure there were a lot of great moments.

ps -TruBlu I am glad to hear that you don't need surgery but sorry to hear about your mom. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Tracks of My Tears was the only time I liked Adam this year.

According to Paula, next week's theme is Disco and she will be choreographing the group number. lol

Regarding dialidol and who is in second place - doesn't mean they don't stand a good chance of being the one voted out because of the margin of error. Only the person on top (in green) is safe from being the one kicked out. Even with them, they still could end up being in the bottom 6 or 5. That's the bad thing about dialidol - when everyone is in yellow, you really have no idea how the elimination is really going to go.

I was thinking that this week would be a good one for the judges to put a popular singer (Adam, Allison) in the elimination position and say they are using the "save" on them - just for dramatic effect for ratings. With dialidol being useless this week to tell ranks, even for Adam, they could get away with it.

You are so correct with dialidol. It really only shows first place and no one else if that makes sense.

I would not be suprised if the judges pulled out a save just for dramatic effect.

I would just as soon the judgees/producers don't "put" my favorite, Adam, in the bottom three just for the drama of saving him. Too much chance of backlash.

According to Paula, next week's theme is Disco and she will be choreographing the group number. lol

...actually, she's a great choreographer...of course, when she's not on her meds...

...not if the voters have something to say about that - remember, ANYTHING can happen!

true on dial idol, I brought it up mainly to point out that other people besides Adam do get votes. My point being that this is not the Adam Lambert show and there is no clear cut "he will win so end the show now" that was mentioned.

Another one here that doesn't like not hearing Simon's comments. They need to not allow the contestants to comment, Paula needs to stay on her meds and stop rambling, and get rid of the pimp chair interviews. The video section is enough for now.

Kara brings plenty to the show. For example, no one else says "chops" as many times as she does.:thumbsup2

I bet they'll do another group switch tonight. Put either Adam or Danny in with Anoop and Matt, then switch them out at the last minute for Lil or someone else to be in the bottom 3.

Hey if they can do a Young Frankenstein and Shrek -- a Spiderman might not be awful... It might be a bunch of men in tight suits! :thumbsup2

If you have ever gone to Universal and "met" Spiderman, there isn't much left up to the imagination.

:rotfl: :rotfl: You're my type of gal, Cindy. Nothing wrong with showing appreciation for a hawt male body.

I'd love to hear Adam sing Black Dog.

Are we just too old?

I think the 60s was a high point for rock music - though of course, I was just a little kid at the time. But when you look back at all the great bands - heck , even the Woodstock movie, those were amazing times for music.

For me this season just seems like a battle for second place. None of the other contestants are good enough to even hold Adam's guyliner!

:lovestruc :lovestruc :rotfl: :rotfl:

Luckily, Adam is so amazing that he's worth waiting thru the rest of the snoozefest for his performance.

I haven't gone to a concert in decades, but I'd go to his show.

A lot of people, including online music critics share this opinion.

I don't know about of you, but I get a very stuck up and "diva" attitude from him. Maybe it's from his previous theater work and he is using it, but I don't like it.

Now to what I thought was funny. Adam has a musical theater background and has already performed in shows, but according to an interview it was just something to make money. I am not sure where his motives are with this competition, but being on Broadway is a dream for many people, but to him it was merely "a way to pay the bills". He has mentioned that he doesn't want to have that 'Broadway sound' so I wouldn't get your hopes up about seeing him in a theater production anytime soon- unless he doesn't win and needs "a way to pay the bills b/c everyone needs a job, right?" I want someone that is going to live and breathe their music from the beginning and become that artist. I just don't see it from him for some reason.

After I read that interview I was kind of curious about what his motives are in this competition and what he would like to gain from it? Right now the only thing I see him wanting to gain is attention- I probably would never buy his album. I like to compare him to David Cook, but have found it's not possible. David Cook get use that rockstar voice- win over America and not have to scream in every song like a banshee.

These are my opinions for now.. well maybe a rant? I am open to any thoughts on what you all think. I will check back after work.

As I've mentioned in a previous post, I'm a professional musician (violin/viola) and I can speak for most musician - we rarely turn down any jobs. We actually joke among ourselves that we're "hookers" - just in a different line of work. Before I won a job in a major symphony orchestra, I did everything from working in the pit with touring musicals, playing shows at theme parks, wedding gigs, conventions where no one can hear know you, cruise ships (like Jennifer Hudson), etc. I love music but I certainly didn't love every gig I was playing. Hoever, if you're going to make a living in this profession, you get realistic very quickly, ditch the stars in your eyes, and gratefully take whatever work comes your way. I completely understand Adam and I admire him for actually being able to make a living in music - unlike other contestants who work on oil rigs, as waiters, etc.

What he's doing now is trying to take the next step and become that 1 in a million who can make a living as a solo performer. He's being very smart about it and he hasn't made a misstep yet, because he, more than anyone, knows what's at stake here.

That's it!!! That's who he is.... a glorious voice in a rock star package.

Sigh...now if he just gets his hands on some good original music he'll be set. That seems the toughest obstacle for an Idol winner. They always seem to rush out a CD and, great musician or not, the songs are crap.

That's the key to becoming a "star". All the talent, and publicity in the world is not going to help you if nobody wants to hear your music or buy your albums. You just have to look at all the one-hit wonders out there to see how hard it is to keep turning out good product.

I've read that contestants aren't allowed to be under any other professional contracts while they are competing. Adam may have been under various contracts with various theaters before, and the timing was right this time. I don't know, I'm just guessing.

What Adam said in a previous interview was that he didn't think he was good enough - didn't have a shot of winning AI.
He did it this year because all his friends insisted that he had to audition and he was ready to take the chance.
