I don't know. I thought Clay was a sure win but...(not because he was my favorite but he seem to get the loudest cheers & I don't think he was in the bottom 2 too often).

And Melinda Doolittle and David Archuleta were the early shoe ins for their years, also. For awhile it was just "who" will come in second behind these guys... and we all know what happened.

After last nights show my standings in order are

Top 3
Anoop-Wow for me best of the night-I closed my eyes and it was like I could feel him!

Kris-Never heard the song and I was unsure of it at first but boy made me want to hear it again!

Adam-I was expecting more from him,it was very blase.Disliked the arrangement but he can sing but this wasn't enough for me to want to buy his rendition

Bottom 3
Allison-Worst of the night.I love the song but she in no way did it justice.Just bad all over.Very rough.

Lil-Oh Lil. I'm honestly not sure if the gospel helped or not. I didn't expect greatness as she's slipped further and further back since week 1 but her voice was better than Allisons this week.

Danny-Another one I was expecting more from. His singing did nothing for me.

And Ruben Studdard won, but faded into the woodwork. Chris Daughtery didn't, but look at his career.

Love your Bichon-what's his/her name? We just got our second one and still haven't named her. Our first is 3 years old, named Ollie.

Thank you, he is our our baby and his name is Chewy. We got him six years ago as tiny puppy and one of the Star Wars movies had come out, so he is actually named Chewbacca. Plus he chewed on everything as puppies do.
Aren't they awesome dogs?

So if Adam comes in 2nd, it may not be a bad thing for his career.

But as someone mentioned earlier, it depends on what type of music you listen to. Some former contestants are very popular & their music is played alot on certain stations - Gospel, R&B, Country.

ITA. I was surprised that Anoop was a favorite of mine last night. I considered downloading his song from iTunes.

I wasn't here during the live chat last night. Am I the only one bothered by Simon not getting to comment on every singer? If they have to limit it to TWO because they were stupid enough to add a 4th UNNECESSARY judge, then the other three should take turns. Simon is the only one I can stand to listen to!!!

It bothered me to that Simon was not allowed to speak to everyone.
Its not fair to the singers either.
Yeah he can be harsh sometimes, but at least he completes a thought w/o throwing in Dawgs and fluffy bunnies and get then distracted by shiny things.
(speaking of shiny... Paula's jewelry... Its.... Large?)

The show STILL ran long last night even with the changed judged commentary. Thank God for DVR.

I finally figured out what it is about Lil's singing that I can't stand. It's her accent. She pronounces words oddly. "Your" becomes "yo", "Will" becomes "wiw". It makes her singing very unpolished when she can't sing the words correctly.

Broadway or not. Regardless of where Wicked is being performed it is a hit. The fans are the same and the experience is the same. It's known everywhere and the casts are equally talented. Adam has a background in musical theater and said directly in the interview "No Broadway stuff" basically.

I would also as a follower of the theater like to say that they consider the Pantages as "Broadway LA".

Danny had some very weird enunciations yesterday too.

I forgot to mention the judges! I really can't stand Kara. Just the way she talks... I can't really explain it, but something about her tone of voice and how she's trying really hard to fit in while trying not to seem like she's trying too hard... if that makes any sense! She adds NOTHING to the show, so was it necessary to add her just to have the show continuously run over and not get to hear from all the judges? There used to be people who didn't even care about the singers, but they tuned in to laugh at Simon's insults, and I know I like hearing what he has to say week after week. No wonder he wants to leave.

Kara brings plenty to the show. For example, no one else says "chops" as many times as she does.:thumbsup2

Simon is the judge I agree with the most. He's honest and to the point-he sugar coats nothing.

Of course I have my favorites like everyone else but I go by the contestants singing each week--I don't vote for someone just because I like them and want them to win or they're the popular choice. It bugs me when I read during Hollywood week people picking their favorites to vote for.

Also I'm so aggravated by the judges commentary--they constantly tell the contestants to take a song and make it their own and then when they do they get blasted for it! "Oh it's a Snarky Hucklepuss song--it didn't need anything" "I love that song just the way it is why would you change it?"

Come on people, make up your mind!

Simon's opinion is the only one that matters. I thought Kara would really add to the mix with her songwriting/producing background but I just find her annoying for the most part. I think she is "trying out" for Randy's job. My money is on Randy getting the axe next year. I would love a rotating guest judge for the panel. I don't think they can have a 4 judge panel though because they are constantly going over the allotted time.

I didn't watch last night but caught all of the performances on rickey.org today. I think either Adam or Danny will win and am afraid that Allison and Kris will finish third. My only interest now is to see if there is another "Idol moment" this year since I'm not head over heels about anyone. For me, the only Idol moment was Adam's Tracks of My Tears with Allison's - Papa Was a Rollin' Stone coming close.

YMMV of course depending on who you really like. If you're an Adam fan, then I'm sure there were a lot of great moments.

ps -TruBlu I am glad to hear that you don't need surgery but sorry to hear about your mom. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

I don't know about Randy getting fired, but I know Simon keeps saying he wants to leave. I don't know how much longer the should could go on to being with.

i agree that adam is the only one that keeps me interested in this years show..just want to know what took him so long to try out for AI..this is season 8 and he said he was always a big fan.
i think that ryan seascrest is the reason the show goes to long..and i dont like the way kerri talks either, shes brought nothing to the show!

I think that he said he never would have been able to handle the pressure before.

Simon's got one more year. That could be the end.

I think when Simon is done, the show should end as well. Fox and 19E would like it to continue since the ratings are so high. I think they could probably milk it for a few years but the ratings would certainly suffer without Simon. Eventually the Cash Cow would end.

When will Idol officially jump the shark, or has it already? hmmmmm??
