Too bad I hadn't connected with you on the boards yet, because I was in Atlanta last August (went from there to the Carolinas) and it would have been fun to get together.
Actually, I thought he had a great looking body *duck* but the face - not so much.
To me, that performance epitomizes how totally sexualized and unromantic our culture has become. I mean, we started the show with Frankie Avalon singing "Venus" - which is a very sweet love song. In 1959, you have a guy singing about his longing for a girl who wants "
his kisses and his arms" and promises he'll
be true to her as long as they both live. Okay, we know that didn't always happen but now, we have every rapper and rocker singing about booty, oral sex, casual sex, etc.
I can't believe I downloaded Adam's Mad World from itunes because I just
don't do that kind of thing - somebody please send me for professional help if I start turning into a Claymate type fan *shudder*. I just can't get the song out of my head, so am now looping it with Ring of Fire, which I still have mad, crazy love for.
