You must be on cloud 9. :cloud9: Did you go to both in the same city or did you travel to see the second?

Actually neither was in my city. I traveled 2 hours east each way on Friday night and 3 hours west each way Sunday night. So not extremely far for either one. It was all worth it. I had front row seats on Sunday night so to say I felt like a 12 year old again is an understatment! :lovestruc

Ugh! SHe didn't deserve that award, I would listen to Megan before I would sit through a show of hers. Anyone who sings as many different keys as she does in under 30 seconds on the national anthem should not win.

:thumbsup2 I know I sure don't know what people see in her. I hated that song with the video that has her walking up the pier prancing around. Makes my ears bleed. :scared1: Just don't see the attraction to that high pitched voice and she isn't the only one lately with it. I was listening to one of the XM country stations the other day and heard two different new singers with that kind of voice. :scared:

Her cd is better then her, she's very manufactured. Do you know what two singers by chance?

i'm so ready for Idol this week is already going bad.

hi mary, I ordered scrubs through walmart...the drawstring part is fine, but he gets cold and they are not warm enough, but they will do in a pinch while I keep my search for actual sweats. I had high hopes for the J Crew ones, but those were too wide at the waist...AND he will wear most things made only in the USA, narrows it down even more. I am going to try and sew a pair ( in my free time..:lmao:) he is quite ornery at the moment, so need to let that fizzle out first. Guess I better see what all the back surgery will entail first as well. Need to get him healthy enough to undergo the surgery which is an uphil battle right now. Thanks everyone again, it means a lot!

How about something like lounge pants?

Can you find someone to sew some for him? I've made pajamas for my kids and they are really simple. Someone who has a serger will be able to whip them up in no time and not charge much at all.

You mean to tell me her CD is better than she is live? OMG, that must really be painful to listen to. :scared1: But, you know it kind of makes me mad, because that was one of the things that always set country music apart from some other genres of music. Country didn't "produce" how the singer sounded. It didn't matter if the singer was perfect looking and that wasn't the only reason to listen to / be a fan of a singer. But it sounds like they are finally going to cave and people are going to allow it to happen. :headache:

I wish I did now the names of the singer/song. All I remember is hearing a snippet of a song, going OMG who the heck is this, hitting the info button to see the name, didn't recognize it and changing the station asap. That high pitched nails on a chalk board singing voice makes me want to run away and hide. :scared:

Watch the ACM Top New Artist special I cringed and had to mute it. She's not a great vocalist live, I know of musicians who don't like her. Shes one who the cds sounder better, Taylor is somewhat the same. The one whose complete opposite cd vs live is Kellie Pickler. She sounds so much better live then on the cd.

Flannel, drawstring sleep pants may also be an option if you do end up sewing some or having them made.. They won't be as thick as sweat pants but they will be warmer than scrubs. Even if you could find some that were Made in America, they would probably have an elastic waistband.

I'm off tomorrow so I can put my "google powers" to good use and let you know if I find anything.

Back to Idol related: ;) Congrats to Carrie. She has come a long way since her Idol audition and it really has only been a few years! But, Simon predicted that she would be huge. I bet he's proud of what she has done.

I remember the issues of dressing my elderly FIL... PS. for the made in America tag, just cut out the tag... :rolleyes1 My dad is the same way and it just gets too crazy for my mom. She just cuts out the tag and calls it a tagless garment.

:confused3

I guess I am the only person in the world that doesn't like Carrie Underwood. I'm not a fan of country to begin with and she just comes across BORING!

From the New York Post:

IT'S official: Adam Lambert is the odds-on favorite to be the next "American Idol."

Oddsmakers from Latin America to London for the first time this week have made the show-stopping crooner such a prohibitive favorite to win this year's "Idol" that a $1 bet on him will pay only 80 cents.

The talent show has seen some heavy favorites in the past but nothing quite like Lambert -- who is running away from the field with seven other performers still in the running.

Lambert has been out of the top spot only once so far in competition -- when he stumbled during country music week -- and briefly gave the betting lead to Danny Gokey.

Gokey this week is holding steady as the second pick, with most bookmakers listing him at 5-to-2.

Kris Allen is moving up among "Idol" bettors and is now the show's No. 3 pick at around 7-to-1.

Allison Iraheta had been the third pick for several weeks, but -- after a lackluster performance last week -- fell to the middle of the pack.

Her wild hair and shouted version of "Don't Speak" put her in last week's bottom three for the first time.

Message board chatter over the weekend seems to indicate that Allison has not really connected with fans of the show -- nor started to pick up votes as other contestants are knocked out.

But she did pick up one big endorsement: late last week, fellow 16-year-old Miley Cyrus said she was rooting for Allison. The two have even began texting each other last week.

While I definitely love Adam, I don't see him winning. But I never thought David would win either.

hmmmm, I still think Kris/Adam finale 2...and Adam not wanting to be locked into the Idol contract...it going to Kris. i just can't see Adam being limited, but maybe he's convincing enough for AI to broaden their scope of singer to market? Time will tell!

...you didn't throw any 'unmentionables' on stage, did you...?? :scared:

I'd be happy with a Adam/Allison or an Adam/Danny finale. With my luck it will be Adam/Kris which will be exactly like it was for the past few seasons, someone I like and someone I cannot stand.... :scared:

Adam/Allison sounds perfect to me! :thumbsup2

OK I can't seem to find the original post that started this discussion! Who the heck are y'all talking about?
