I love this list. Raspberry Beret was one of my favorite songs. Walking on Sunshine was a good song until it got overplayed. Lay Your Hands on Me was another fave... Thompson Twins were one of my favorite groups. One Night in Bangkok is a great one too..

Im a huge Duran Duran fan, I find it interesting Arcadia AND Power Station both had hits then.

Adam said that one song he wanted to sing was Don't Stop Believing by Journey. It would work for the year he was born.

That is my punk loving son's favorite song.... :confused3 He adores that song.

I have to say a creative graffiti "artist" decorated all the stop signs in our development with a small Dont and Believin' on every stop sign. So guess what happens every time I stop on my corner...

DS and DD start belting out Don't Stop Believin!

I know that you tell us every year how popular they are. I was going to put in my post that Robin says they have done really well but figured you would add that in. Thank you!!! I don't think Clay ending up having the same success as Ruben.

Baby Got Back and I'm too Sexy! I dont remember most of the other songs though. The Cure song was overplayed.

Seeing all those songs listed brings back some great memories...I lived in University dorms 1982-85...we sure had a lot of fun.

I was in high school in 1985, but still in middle school in 1982 (I was in either 6th or 7th grade depending on the time of year)

I love that era of music.

90s - not so much.

Paula's #73 on the 1992 list...do you think Allison would get extra points for singing her song?:rotfl:

I saw that as well... I wonder if..

Smells Like Teen Spirit is more her style though.

Can't really remember Smells like Teen Spirit...in fact I'm drawing a blank on quite a few on the 92 list...guess I was too busy working to listen to much music.

I was starting to work as well. I got married in late 1991 and one of those songs was a strong contender for our wedding song.

I did a lot in the 80's. Visited WDW for the first time, graduated from High School, College, Grad School, got my first "real" job, bought my first brand new car, got married, had my oldest son and was pregnant with my daughter all in the span of a decade.

I think I'm mentally stuck in the decade. :)

There's LOTS of great songs from the latter half of the 80s. Hopefully they won't choose the sucktastic ones to do.

One of them COULD lose it all.

No...one of them WILL lose it all Ryan. :sad2:

Funny every year I hear this Whatever happened to Ruben and Fantasia thing and I go :rolleyes1

I listen to R&B and Gospel stations and I hear them ALL THE TIME. I only hear Daughtry, Carrie and David Cook on AI but I never ask "whatever happened to them?" Maybe it's because I'm not in their demographic????

Ruben is a gospel SUPERSTAR and Fantasia sings only R&B. I don't expect people who don't listen to that kind of music on the regular to know much about them. Both have done well on Broadway, but all I hear about on the DIS is Clay!

I know the deal here, I just go... :rolleyes1

Each has their own niche. Which doesn't crossover as well as music used to. You used to hear all sorts of various types of music on one radio station but not so much anymore.
