I can see Adam doing Funky Town by Lipps Inc. as it's a challenging song to sing ranging over a couple of octaves.
What was interesting to me in the group number tonight is how badly they sound singing together because the voices are wildly different, as are the singing standards. I'm planning to buy a ticket to the live concert - ONLY because of Adam & because they are coming to my hometown - but I hope they don't do a lot of group numbers. During the group number Matt's horrendously weak vocals were glaringly apparent - especially any time he tried to go into the falsetto range. We all know how easy Adam makes it look, but when Matt sings you realize how hard it is. After Adam sang his solo (the only bearable one in the group), Danny's voice came as a shock to my sensitive ears. Was it just me, or did it sound as if he had swallowed gravel? His appeal escapes me completely
I wasn't expecting much from Miley, but the first half of her song was atrocious.
She sounds like she's singing through her nose and the articulation was so poor, I couldn't understand a word. I agree with the poster who said she would never have made it to the finals of American Idol. Good thing she's got personality and a Dad who helped her get into show business.

Love him or hate him, Adam has already
emerged as Season 8's most memorable contestant. He's offered up the most consistently original performances from week to week and, as a result, he's the most buzzed-about competitor in the "Idol" blogosphere. What's more, he's clearly earned the good graces of the judges, who just can't find it within themselves to utter anything but positive feedback for his daring and sometimes theatrical interpretations. Take Tuesday night for example. Lambertinis, Adam remains in the catbird seat, still waiting for another competitor to shake him off his perch. In the meantime, rest assured that he's already become one of this year's breakout reality TV stars.
