American Idol Top 4 Idol Chatter and Idle Chatter

If they let me take pictures I'll post them here! :lovestruc

I can't wait!!!!!

But, I do have a confession to make....
I'm probably going to miss my kids' church play to go. :guilty: I've worked hard all week sewing and painting their costumes, and now I might miss it. That was why I didn't buy tickets in the first place. When I told the boys I was passing up seeing DC for them, they both said "No way, Mom! We don't care if you miss the play. You've got to go see David Cook!!!" So, I decided to be BAD MOM, went to get tickets, and they were sold out. I had given up going until today when my friend sent me an email to saying she got one for me!!!!! :dance3:
So, I guess I'm officially BAD MOM! :rotfl:

Don't feel like a bad mom. It sounds like you have great understanding kids. Have fun and post lots of pics.

Tatania.... Have I told you Lately... that I LOVE YOU???

:woohoo:Awesome coverage!! You are my HERO!!!! :woohoo:

It's mutual Robin! Loved all your insights during the season. I don't get VH1 :sad2: so I'll have to try and catch the interview on You Tube. The preview is SO funny and Adam shows us another talent - very gifted comedian/actor.

Kara couldn't keep her big trap shut on The View today - I think she just babbles whatever comes into her head - and couldn't wait to let Adam make his own announcement in RS next week. Not that he has to announce anything or owes anyone information on his sex life.

Did everyone see Kris at Disney World today? So cute. He and Adam have such a bromance going and he talks about him in all his interviews. You gotta love Kris too:

Kris Allen on side-mouth singing, lip-synching, and calling Danny a 'jerk'
May 29, 2009, 03:10 PM | by Missy Schwartz

You know what's great about the Internets? They are infinite! See, I wrote this article on Kris Allen for the current issue of Entertainment Weekly and had the pleasure of spending a good chunk of Memorial Day with him in New York City. We roamed around Central Park, where he got a kick out of visiting the John Lennon "Imagine" memorial; we hit Rockefeller Center, where a woman not only asked for a photo but requested that he take off his shades in said photo (he obliged); and we rode the subway (F train, direction downtown, in case you care) because he'd never been on one before. (Twas also his first ever trip to the Big Apple.) Problem is, there's only so much I could fit into two pages of the magazine. So I hereby offer you some of the morsels that did not make it into the magazine story. (It's the first of a new PopWatch series we're calling "Bonus Points.") Behold, your Idol sounding off everything from calling Danny Gokey a "jerk" to Christians rejecting Adam Lambert. Enjoy!

On the Idols having to lip-synch for many of the early group performances. That whole lip-synch thing, we were so upset about it. They were like, "It's hard to blend the 10 voices" or whatever. After a while, we complained enough and Adam's pretty good at taking a stand. We'd be like, "Yeah, Adam! Go, Adam!" He would always lead the pack. He was the first one to be bold and say something [to the producers].

On his (let's admit it, pretty darn adorable) habit of jutting his jaw to the side when hittin' the big notes. My friends and my wife make fun of me for it all the time. That's [one of] the reasons I can't watch my performances, 'cause I see that and I'm like, "Oh gosh. Don't do that." I don't even know why, it's just a thing. I hate it. But…I've always done it. I've done it forever. I've tried to change it. It just won't happen. It's just emotion—my mouth happens to go to the side. I thought it was so funny when we did the results show and Anoop made fun of me. That was hilarious. They were like, "Is that okay?" And I was like, "Totally! I don't care. It's funny!"

On speculation that he and Adam Lambert painted their nails as a campaign to get a Kradam finale. (i.e. at the exclusion of Danny Gokey)That's not what we were saying. This is what we were saying: There was this tabloid thing that came out about me and Adam, about how we don't get along because I'm this conservative kid from Arkansas and he's this L.A. liberal guy. Which, I could be nothing less than conservative. I'm just from Arkansas. And they were like, "He's cranky because he misses his wife and Adam's nail polish is all over the place and they can't get along." And we were like, "That's so stupid. That's the stupidest thing." We just didn't want people to think that we didn't get along. Because we're really great, great friends.

On calling Gokey a "jerk" on Larry King Live last Friday, in response to Gokey saying he had picked Allen to win. That was a joke. Seriously, we're all really good friends and we joke around with each other so much. It just came out. He's like my brother as well. We've become so close. We're around each other so much, we just joke around a lot. I hope people didn't read it differently. I'm sure the Danny haters will. [Slips into a mean, angry voice] "Kris hates Danny!" It's so weird that everyone hangs on to every word you say. But I'm not gonna change. I'm not gonna not joke around with Danny Gokey.

On the PR department schooling the Idols on what they can and can't say on the air. After Allison Iraheta joked about not cutting herself… Oh gosh. All the PR people were like, "Oh gosh. Oh, Allison don't say that on TV!" There's a couple things that we don't say. She doesn't say "cut myself." I said "retard" one time. When I was talking about myself, I said, "I felt like a retard." Never say that again! And then, I don't say "benches" because it sounds like "*****es." [Allen's slight twang does transform the word into something like "binches," which is dangerously close to "*****es"] I don't say that anymore… until now! I'm sittin' on these binches! [Laughs]

On his frustration with Christians who wouldn't accept Adam Lambert. There [were all these rumors] about how all the conservative, Christian people that would vote for me hate Adam and never want him to win because of who he is. Oh, it was so frustrating—really bad, because we are really good friends. Why can't everyone get along? It never made any sense for me to judge anyone, who they are. It frustrates me that people can't get along with people because of their differences. And I'll tell you what, especially Christians. Christians have a hard time accepting people like Adam—liberal, from L.A., looks different, maybe acts a certain way. He's a great, great guy. They don't even give him a chance. And it's frustrating because I come from that. A lot of my friends are not that way, which I appreciate, but a lot of people in Arkansas or in the South or wherever are that way. We really hope that our relationship can be an inspiration to people. I could go on about that forever.

The End.

Look for my full-length feature story on Kris Allen in the June 5 issue of Entertainment Weekly, on newsstands now. And, PopWatchers, check back this weekend for all new episodes of Idolatry, in which Michael Slezak outdoes himself (again) interviewing Kris Allen.

Not to BRAG or anything BUT....

OK, I'm bragging...

MY FRIEND JUST GOT ME A TICKET TO SEE DAVID COOK ON SUNDAY!!!!!

:woohoo:  :lovestruc :cloud9: :lovestruc  :woohoo:

...well THAT lil' tidbit o' news sure spiced things up around here....;)

Kara couldn't keep her big trap shut on The View today - I think she just babbles whatever comes into her head - and couldn't wait to let Adam make his own announcement in RS next week. Not that he has to announce anything or owes anyone information on his sex life.

I never ever felt that Adam was hiding his sexuality. He has said in numerous interviews that he is not embarrassed by the photos, he knows who he is, the elephant is pink, etc. etc. He just has never actually said "I am gay". Kara didn't say that either. She just said that she didn't think he was actually ever hiding anything and was never in the closet. I totally agree. I am continually surprised that people are even speculating about it as the rest of the show probably is too. There is ample evidence. I would imagine most people are just saying, "D'uh!" everytime that question is asked. Does anyone ask Kris if he is straight? No because it is pretty obvious that the fact that he has a wife and his wedding pictures implicate his sexuality, just as Adam's snogging with guys pictures implicate his. Why the need to even ask?

Adam and his family have signed contracts (so says his mom) that they will not actually disclose his sexuality until 19E tells them they are allowed to. However, it hasn't stopped Adam from continuing to hint about it. On idolatry he said he was not embarrassed by the pictures that Bill O'Reilly showed. C'mon what straight guy would say that? The press is so stupid that when they actually hear Adam say, "I am gay" they will be all over it like it is some new revelation.

Is there anyone here that has any doubts? Is there anyone here that actually thinks they would have a chance with Adam even if he wasn't gay? What possible difference would it make?

The whole situation is one of the weirdest things I have ever seen. How much evidence does one need? Is anyone going to say, "Geez I never would have guessed that!" when the words "I am gay" are printed in RS? It is all just a publicity race and a totally stupid one if you ask me. They may as well be asking if he is human.

This clip addressed the craziness of the whole situation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2yge7MEbPI

Adorable? I found his side moving face about as adorable as the Adam people like his tongue! :lmao:

I'm a Christian and crap like that is just another way of mixing up the religious folk with Christians. The word "Christian" means Christ Like and Christ accepted EVERYONE. Too many people use it to exclude when it totally means to INclude.

Loved the article posted here, it's funny but I never really noticed Kris's side of the mouth singing until it was mentioned here so much..I had to start staring at the screen while he sang to see it. Adam really seemed like he was the leader of the bunch, I wonder if all his stage experience just makes him a natural take charge guy. I always thought he was a nice guy I just didn't like his style of singing.

This whole Adam is gay thing drives me crazy. Who the heck cares! I know there are fanatics that will try to make an issue of it but really if the media would ignore it than it wouldn't even be a blip on the screen.

Just like with Clay..were there really people that were shocked when he announced he was gay? I thought so back when he was on Idol. Is People going to do a whole "Adam is gay" cover like they did with Clay? As long as there are people that will pay attention to the fanatics this country will never move forward with accepting all people. Makes me sad.

Exactly! I feel like he is answering the questions, but doesn't want to be defined by the fact that he is gay. I think people want him to shout out that he is gay so that he can be the voice of gay rights. :confused3 Just because he is a celebraty now doesn't mean he has to be the voice for all of the non celebraty people in the world who are gay. I think it takes a bigger person to just live their life and not worry about wether people now about something. It isn't like straight people go around wearing a sign shouting out that I'm straight.

:thumbsup2 You hit the nail on the head, Robyn.

...my DS returned home today after 12 days at WDW...he said that Kris was at Hollywood Studios this week...

Your whole post was a big :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 for me!

I agree with this. Why should any entertainer have to tell us about their sex life? I mean, do the tweens love Miley any less because she's a girl - and they're probably not going to be fantasizing about getting it on with her? Adam is a very sensual performer and that' just sexy - end of.

I watched this with an open mind - hoping I would find something that would make me like Danny more than I did in the competition. By the third segment, I had the same glazed look that interviewer Slezak had, and found myself watching the pattern on Slezak's pants because it was more interesting than the interview.

After watching this, I find it absolutely baffling that the judges wanted this person in the final two. Besides the fact that he can't express himself clearly (he's not just inarticulate, but his incessant use of "you know" and "it is what it is", is irritating and distracting). But the fact that he knows no pop repertoire - no Michael Jackson, no Motown, nothing from Grand Old Opry almost defies belief for someone who grew up in America. How did he even know about the show, and if he did, what did he think he was going to be singing? Was his profession really music teacher or choir director? And you don't know any popular music?? :confused3

And for all the fans that thought he was so emotionally connected to his songs, esp. Endless Love, it was amusing to find out that the only emotion he felt during singing it was anger because of a missed note. At least he recognized his vocal shortcomings, and how ill-prepared he was to perform with a band, back- up singers etc. Which still doesn't explain what the judges were thinking!

I don't like that he put the blame on Kris for choosing the wrong song in their duet and the insinuation that it would have been better to sing with Allison because it's better for a guy and girl to sing together than two guys. I think there's no doubt he and Sarver are the least comfortable around anything that even hints of "homosexuality."

I hope American Idol is thanking their lucky stars that Gokey didn't win this, because in my opinion, he would have made Tayler Hicks looked like a major star.

TruBlu -- have fun seeing DC today!:love:

Let us know if he pretty much sticks to his new album or if he plays anything from "Analog Heart" or anything he performed on AI.

For the Glamberts: Making you sure you all know there's a new slang expression added to the vocabulary: "Adamgasim" . I think it needs no explanation.

Sunday morning Adam love. Girlfriend is TOO adorable getting a manipedicure.
