I loved Rocky Horror. When I saw it for the first time, I wondered what the heck was going on with all the people dressed up singing and dancing along with the movie. It was great! Adam would be terrific as the star.

I could also see him in a band like Kiss. Kiss was the first concert I ever saw. Adam would fit right in. But I think Adam is going to do his own thing and I can't wait to see what he does.

I disagree. I think Adam lost because his style is very NOT mainstream. I agree that he's talented, but I don't enjoy listening to him. I think of him being in, like, an 80's style glam rock band...or on stage in Rocky Horror Picture Show. I acknowledge his talent, but dislike his style and voice immensely. And Kris probably DID pick up lots of Danny's voters.

ETA: Earlier today, I voted in the DISboards AI poll. Kris was winning, just barely, all morning. Unless it changed after I left for the day, the Disers got it right.

Actually glam rock is from the 70's.
It would be fun if it came back into style. Adam can do whatever he likes, and if that includes Rocky Horror, he'd do well in it. It has LOTS of fans to this day.

I just got here, because I've been watching it over and over! That was SO COOL! I'm waking my boys up early in the morning so they can watch it. Detroit Rock City is their favorite song on Rock Band.

Adam is the best talent AI has ever had, even the judges know it...now that he isn't tied down with an AI contact, he will go on and be a STAR! Kris can sing that sappy mountain and hurricane song while Adam sells out concert arenas

Seriously, a huge part of me is glad Adam didn't win. Dont' get me wrong I LOVE Adam and he is wicked good, he has incredible talent, out of this world stage presence, but after watching him sing with KISS...I realized he is WAY too good for AI.

I didn't want to see him stuck in a sappy AI contact and have to put out sappy music. Now he can stay true to himself and not have to change for AI.

I know major superstars are already knocking on his door. I can easily see Adam going on tour as an opener for a major musican!

American Idol's affiliated record label 19E has first dibs on all of the contestants. They have already said they are signing both Kris and Adam and probably others. Hopefully, they will sink some big bucks into his career. They did a great job with Daughtry.

That was a great moment. I love that Kris is a singer and an accomplished musician. I'll be buying his CD, no question. Wishing him all the best!

And for Adam, he'll do great. He's been performing since he was 10.
Acting, sing, both, either. We will see good things from him in the years to come!

Rocky Horror's been my absolute favorite movie since I was, like, 3. No joke. My friends and I have seen it at midnight in the village a ridiculous amount of times. Adam in Rocky Horror? I'd TOTALLY take it!

There's really a huge difference between the two contestants. I'm into classic rock, the Killers, guy-liner, Rocky Horror, offbeat Broadway shows, and my friends and I go to gay clubs to party with the queens I'm into really creative, unique, slightly offbeat things that are totally out of the mainstream.

My friends who like Kris are into Britney Spears, watch endless episodes of The Hills, and think Justin Timberlake is worthy of an Academy Award.

Nothing wrong with either one, they're just VERY different!

Except for the classic rock thing, you sound like me when I was 23. Though I live no where close enough to NY to see true Broadway, I've always been a theater geek. I'd pay big money to see Adam in the Frankenfurter get up.

Yep. "Rich Girl" is the only one I have made a point of listening to.

And according to Wikipedia it was co-written by *9* people so her contribution is negligible.

The lists of people she writes for is a who's who of what I think is wrong with music these days (or 10 years ago ) -- Ashlee Simpson, PCD, Celine, Miley, Vanessa, Lindsey, Christina, Britney, Leona, Jesse,Kylie, Jessica, Ricky, Ryan, Hilary, Paris (seriously???). I can't stand ANY of them. There are a couple others where I like a song here and there -- but none were written by her.

So yeah, I think her song writing stinks.

Of course I am thrilled that Kris won but I also am so impressed with how happy Adam was and how still to the end Kris says "Adam should have won". He still can't believe what he was able to accomplish. I think Kris is very humble and maybe not so confident.

My favorite part of the night was him hugging his wife at the end. He looked like he held onto her for dear life. They are so young, I pray they make it through this amazing and very daunting career change.

I am watching the show as it is airing out here. I missed DC the first time. I just have to say . He was wonderful. Kind of wish Ryan hadn't hinted and DC's brother's death. But I get they needed a reason for the charity single. I have to remember to look for that tomorrow.

I liked Norman and was glad to see him again. But I hope that is IT for bikini girl.

The first group number was a mess. Kris and Keith sounded fabulous together. Lil and Latifah were good. The back up dancers were annoying though. Not a fan of fergie or the black eyes peas so that whole thing left me cold. Alison is on now. Cindy does really look great for her age.

It is nice watching this minus the nerves. Now I can really enjoy it.

ITA. I think if I had a friend that really liked (particularly) Britney, we'd have to never talk music. She's one strange agent.
I listen to many genres of music--and I have to say that tonight's finale was one of the best. Keith Urban, Santana, Jason Mraz, Fergie, Cindy Lauper, Black Eyed Peas--what a night!!!!

And--I love Kris's voice.

You have good taste so I'll forgive the Kris thing... Really, I'm looking forward to seeing what Kris does too! I'm impressed that Adam, the openly gay Jewish kid in drag, was able to make it so far. I'm also impressed that Kris, the cute kid in the back who I wanted to see more of but NEVER thought he'd make it because he never got any airtime, won the whole thing! It was a fun season

That was so funny seeing KISS. They were a hot item when I started high school.
The makeup? It makes for an easy transition. By day they're probably mild mannered retirees. But whenever they're called to revisit1975, they just pop their faces on, grab their guitars and go. They're sorta like rock superheros

It was announced on our local Fox news station here in Arkansas that AT&T said that 34 million (or something like that) of the votes came from Arkansas. Of course, I have to assume that most of these votes went to Kris and probably because he's a local hometown boy. *sigh*

I'm very happy for Kris. I think he has a lot of talent and potential. He's a cutie and seems very nice and down-to-earth. However, I'm one of those that think Adam should have won. As many have said before me, he'll have a stellar career without the Idol win. It's very clear that Hollywood is in love with him and I truly believe he'll have opportunities that most entertainers can only dream about.

I just hope that Kris can and will live up to the Idol title. I can't help but feel a little nervous for him right now.

I can actually picture/hear Adam doing stuff like Staind, Shinedown, Hinder, Three Doors Down, more rock with a pop edge. That is pretty big right now. Also, if you listen to his studio recordings, the big notes were not as promenant as in his live versions. But that is fairly typical of how artists make the live stuff interesting and different.

I don't know any of those groups mentioned..

I liked his voice except when he went all over the top.

Well I am dissapointed in some ways and then not in others. I think adam will do well doing his own thing but I think he deserved to win. Kris is a cutie pie and I hope he does well, but I just see adam really going far. I did love Kris at the piano last night though. We are just going through the tivo of it now. I have to say I don't like all the old folk music. I grew up with some of this stuff in the 70s abd 89s but I still consider it the oldies.
