Was it me or did Kris look really, REALLY angry during/after his duet? Like very unhappy to be in that position. Danny threw his arm around him, and Kris just barely (and reluctantly) reciprocated. Just looked like a pouty teenager who wasn't getting his way. NOT that I blame him...he was so blatantly paired up with the losing team for the duet. There was no way they could do better than the A-Team.

And oh boy, do I ever want to see an A-Team finale. Hopefully everyone had a chance last night to see how very cool that would be. Their duet was like a little preview of what a great finale we could have if everyone votes PROPERLY!

I think Kris knew that he'd have a better chance of being in the Top 3 if he were paired with Adam for the duet. But, if he had been paired with Adam, it would have been a very uneven dynamic -- Adam would have blown Kris out of the water. I think Alison was the only person could hold her own in a duet with Adam.

"Dream" was much too big for Danny. I'm glad Adam passed on it. It would have been perfect for his key, but then everyone would have said it was a "safe" song for Adam. I hope the top three are Adam, Alison and Danny.

Poor Danny. He was sliding along all season and he STEPPED in it last night... Did he NOT watch the Dream On curse attack Michael Johns just last season??? And MJ sang it 100 times better!

At this point I think contestants should be learning from past contestants mistakes and if MJ (a rocker) could not pull off dream on I don't know what on earth made Gokey think he could. Other than the terrible auditions in the beginning I think that end note is the worst sound I have ever heard on Idol. It made me burst out in uncontrollable laughter. I think this week Gokey definitely deserves to go home.

I noticed that, too. It stood out to me because Kris has never seemed to have any type of attitude before. And when Simon said Danny did better than him, he also looked that way. Personally I thought the song was much better suited to Danny's voice than Kris's, so maybe he was upset because he didn't want to do that song but was kind of forced into it? And his attitude toward Danny leads me to believe that Danny got the song choice he wanted.

Me, too but at this point, I think Idol has more say than anything. THEY know who they want in the final 3 and the final two and they'll get it.

I've always thought the finalists (and winner) of AI is pretty much at the discretion of the producers. It's not like anyone has ever asked to see the voting tally.

I don't want to seem like I'm sticking my head in the sand, but I will say that, during the finale, they always have the auditing firm come out and be introduced. Those are supposedly the folks who oversee the voting process and count the votes. If they are a reputable firm, their very function is to ensure the integrity of the voting. Now, I'm not saying that they are a reputable firm. I'm just saying.

I didn't realize that. I don't remember that from last season (the only other one I've ever watched).

But what about the weeks prior to the finale? Can the producers manipulate the votes before then?

I did think it was funny that they put Adam first last night, after many critics wrote that the other contestants seemed to be Adam "opening act". So, of course, he goes first and everyone else pales in comparison.

This was not the night for Danny or Kris. If anyone should go home it would have to be Kris. Danny has a great voice. Rock is just not his thing. Adam was good but so was Allison. I would love to see Allison win it all.

I agree, it's obvious that Danny and Kris are not rockers at all. I think it was a blessing in disguise for Adam to be in the bottom 2 last week, unfortunately I think it pretty much guarantees him in the finale. I seriously can't stand him. He and Allison both lucked out that the theme played to their styles.

All my votes last night went to Danny (oh yeah, and a couple for Kris)...

Putting Adam first doesn't really do the other contestants any favours.

I think lots of people, newspapers, etc. have tried for years to show that Idol is a scam (VFTW has tried very hard). No one has yet to come up with concrete proof. Every season, the accounting company states that it validates the voting results.

I didn't think that was fair to Danny to show that part of the song in the recap.

Neither do I--But hey,whatever makes Adam look better,right

I noticed that look on Kris's face too. He sure did not look happy.

Maybe because he's finally realizing that Idol wants Adam to be the winner and is doing everything they can to make it happen.

My take on last night:

#1 Adam--Yes he did good but only in comparison to the finalists left

#2 Kris--For not being a rocker in any way shape or form,he did great!

#3 Allison--Really. I waited week after week being told that she's a rocker and will blow us away this week and that's the best she had to give!?! Very disappointing.

#4 Danny--He kinda had me till the screech. Ow! Felt it was in line with all the Adam screeches we've had to endure but more memorable because it came from Danny.

I agree. It's actually more fair to be paired with someone whose voice complements yours, not overpowers it.

I agree both ways. It kind of does seem unfair to have the two rockers together and the non-rockers together. But as someone said before, either Kris or Danny with a rocker wouldn't work out too well. Adam and Allison would overpower them.
