Wow, what close results! This year the three prediction sites (that I know of) don't agree with each other! DialIdol has Kris by a teeny margin. Votenumber1 has Adam by a sizable margin, and Zabasearch has Adam by a tiny margin. If I recall correctly, the only one of those prediction sites that has an insight to text votes is Zabasearch.

Either way, a great artist is going to win tonight and I think that both of them will have a fantastic career ahead of them. This is the first season where I would be happy if either person won and have actually voted for both of them throughout the season.

That finale song was written to showcase Adam's vocal range, not Kris's--a VERY unfair thing to do. The key should have been at least adjusted for Kris, a very simple thing to do!!!
Both are talented, but I am not sure Adam will win. Middle amercian may not vote for Adam, and combine that with Kris's fan base and Danny's---well Kris just may be the next idol.

I'm sure Kris could have asked for the key to be changed, after all it's a band playing it not a prerecorded song. I don't think that song could have showcased ANYONES voice, it had no melody, way too many words to try to decipher, and ... well it just plain out stunk!!!

Well, Adam' Mad World was FLAWLESS!!! Loved the coat, loved the stairs, the lighting, the smoke - it felt like the opening to a concert.

Adam has been the most consistent throughout the entire season - he deserves the win but I think Kris will win, I just have that feeling today.

I voted for the entire 4 hours last night and only got through about 50 times for Adam - I've never heard so many busy signals in all the years I've been voting.

Doesn't matter who wins - they both have already won - I've already read that AI will sign both of them and maybe some others. Both will be able to record their CD and tour.

I'm surprised at your take on the Producer's picks; I actually thought the opposite. I thought Kris's song was more current (not that either of them are really current but I'm sure 3 generations have at least heard Kris's song, while Adams would be unknown to the younger generation). Also I thought Adam's song was a horrible choice for his style/voice, although he did really well with it. What's Going On was a great choice for Kris, IMO, but I didn't like the arrangement at all. Too much guitar strumming made a deep, serious song sound too upbeat. Just my opinion of course, I just find it interesting that we saw it so differently.

Can't wait for tonight, but more to see them both perform one last time than to find out who wins. As many have said, it really doesn't matter at this point.

I also wish the judges wouldn't critique in the finale show. At this point, the American public already knows they are great artists. We have our minds made up on who we like, who we want to win & who we will vote for. All I hear on the final night from the judges is blah, blah, blah, blah..................

I've been around musical theatre majors for many years. I absolutely appreciate their talent. Making it to Broadway is a huge accomplishment. I still think Adam's talent is best showcased there.
Adam may have success in both worlds-as an artist and as a stage performer. One of the best things he's done is to open the door to AI to more musical theatre folks. The judges won't be able to just dismiss them anymore.
Lucky you to have the opportunity to see the live concert series!

I was a theatre major, actually a MINOR because my Mom didn't want me to major in it. In the end I earned enough credits to earn a second degree, MUCH to my Mom's chagrin.

Surprisingly, I've never been much of a musical theatre fan. I like to be entertained, though, because if I go to see a performance and get only what I could've heard on my Ipod, I've wasted my time going!

He may have changed it but if he did, he has no idea what he's doing. Why would he change the song to make himself completely out of key and unable to hit the notes?? He looked like he was in pain the whole time, he really struggled. Kris has a nice voice and is a good musician, but I don't think he's good at arranging songs. The only time he did so was for "She Works Hard For the Money," and all he did was make it acoustic. "Heartless" was a completely copy of The Fray's version.

Just wanted to comment on this one bit. If anyone was off pitch it was Adam. He really stuggled with this song. I watched it again and even I had to squint at his tone. Didn't Randy even have the courage to say he was pitchy??? I feel the complete opposite of you. I think Adam can take a written song (a good one of course, not the crappy one from last night) and make it sound really rockin with all his great range. But I don't think he showed any ability to take an unknown song and make it good. It didn't allow for his theatrics in drama. That is what makes him good. Not a knock on him, it is what makes him good. Kris definitely made a mistake. I would have taken that song and figured out how to play the guitar with it, he looked lost without his guitar, but from what I understand they didn't have a lot of time to work with it. I get the sense from Kris, he does his best and if you don't get it, fine. I gotta believe the song was written with a large range and I agree that Danny would have done the song better than both Kris or Adam.

Personally, I really don't care who that song was written for. Bottom line, it's atrocious. I really don't think anyone could do justice to it. Truly, it was that B-A-D.

Thanks for the siggie pic compliment! My DD7 came up to me a couple of days ago while I was on here and she said "Oh he's looking at me!" then she cracked a big smile and said "The cute guy from American Idol is looking at meeee!!!"

Boy is her dad in for some trouble.

See, I think if Kris had been given the option, then Kara would have said, "Why didn't you alter the key to better fit YOUR range?" Instead, she sort of sheepishly said (something along the lines of ) "Yea, the key was too high for you."
It was written with Adam in mind. He got the good and the bad. Perfect key for him, but the lyrics would have been cheesy even in a high school musical.

We picked up on that also--I think she took Simons advice on arranging the songs (from the flack she received on the Judges Pick song) and it turned out horrible.

If Adam does win tonight (and I have faith that he will) he is going to have a very difficult time singing that song without breaking down. He has stated in a couple interviews already that the words, etc. are very meaningful (which they are, but it comes across as cheesy the first time or two you listen). If he does manage not to he has nerves of steel and really knows how to detach himself from his emotions (which is easier to do when you are used to being teased and tormented all of your life).

Nope and if you watch when the judges are doing the comments you will notice he actually almost rolls his eyes to look away and swallows because I'm sure he didn't want to loose it last night and chance loosing votes because he was crying. A guy/guy can cry and everyone says aawwwhhh how sweet, but if a gay guy cries people do not always have the same reaction. I actually feel a little sorry for him because everyone has focused on that issue so much that it is how he is being defined and I think he is so much more than that. I just love him!
