I just didn't get Mike. I actually thought that Kara crying was a joke at first.

I'm also sick of them saying "How old are you?" to some based on the song that the sing (like Aaron and Katie) but say nothing to others (like Alex, Siobhan and Lilly) when they choose an old song.

Clearly they have their favorites that they are trying to hype and get pushed through.

Age shouldn't matter. Last week, it was the 20-somethings who were picking Queen, Kansas, Rocky Horror, and the Beatles for karaoke. Go figure. The only newer song they picked was "Let's Dance" by Lady Gaga.

Season 7 and Season 8 were the two years I actually went gaga over the show, because I LOVED (still do) David Cook and I was a fan of both Kris Allen and Adam Lambert. They just made the show exciting and not as planned out.

This year? Feels extremely empty, to be honest. There's no one to go GAGA for. Ironically, it's the same year that Paula wasn't on the show.

I sense something here. Maybe between all her babbling and spurts of randomness, she was making sense. Without her, the panel is just too critical, and no one is standing out for me.

And obviously the only one to see talent. She WAS in the music industry so she could SEE who would have the best shot. The rest of the judges, not so much. Even Randy who was some sort of producer... Simon just spoke what America was REALLY THINKING. Kara is just there to spout lots of nonsensical BS and piss everyone off with her crap. Ellen tries to crack jokes like it's her show. I don't have any complaint about Ellen; she's pretty funny.

Seemed like she was channeling Paula Abdul for a moment. It almost seemed like the producers told her to "crazy it up" to fill the incoherent void left by Paula. Paula always did seem off her rocker, but many times she was right about the performers.

I think they should do away w/ the group songs. Seriously, they are horrendous!!!! I usually change the channel or mute it during them. Eek, so bad!
