Definitely Brooke and Jason were the weakest. Jason can sing, but it was definitely the WRONG song choice.

Wow, I don't know why I never pegged Sayesha as a Broadway person, but she was great tonight. This is definitely her niche. I would pay to see her on the Great White Way, but I did not think the song had any contemporary appeal. I think she bought herself another week though.

Jason, I just didn't care for it. I wanted to like it, but I actually agreed with Simon.

I really like Brooke, I really like that song, but it just didn't come together for me tonight. I thought she was ok, but not great. I am worried about her.

David A. surprised me tonight. His song was the only one that had a contemporary feel to it. I don't know why I am so pessimistic though, but I felt like he had done that song before, it just seemed too perfect. That being said, I actually thought Archie was pretty good tonight.

Carly looked great. And I am sure many are happy that she covered up the tattoos. I agreed with Simon that it was a bit shouty, but she seemed to shake free of all the over-thinking she had been doing the last few weeks and just seemed to have a great time and sung the heck out of the song.

I was really surprised that David C. picked this song (I thought for sure David A would do it). I am still a huge DC fan, and I don't think the performance hurt him. I just wish he would have brought more of the rock flair to the song, like the last few notes. Good, but not great for me.

I'm a real Broadway fan, and I love Lord Andrew's music. Lord Andrew was "spot on" about which song Carly should sing. My ears are bleeding after hearing Jason sing tonight. I didn't like the song Brooke chose because I don't like the movie version of "Evita" nearly as much as I like the stage version. I didn't recognize the song Syesha sang, but she was very good tonight!

I think either Jason or Brooke is going home.

I didn't know Syesha's song either... She should go to broadway, she would be perfect for it. I agree I never saw it until tonight.

I didn't like David A... it was to peppy. It isn't sung that way and it really bugged me. It is one of my favorite ALW's songs so maybe I am too sensitive but I wish he wouldn't have sung it.

Carly she was good glad she changed it.

Jason I still love him but not his best

David C loved it my fave of the night.

David Cook was absolutely awesome! He gave me goosebumps. I was so glad I actually got through like 5 times to vote for him! Even if he doesnt win he still has a chance to be big!

I like David Cook, but not so much the last couple of weeks, but last night he was amazing!

I thought Syesha was wonderful too, we finally got to see her personality that we knew she had, but never used.

Poor Brooke.

I still love Jason, but he's been better.

David A just didn't do it for me last night. I like the song, but not how he sang it.

WOO HOO David C!!!!!!! He was just awesome last night! I didn't like the last note or 2 though, but the rest was just hot!

I loved David Cook's performance last night!! I thought he did a wonderful job with that song, and like Randy said that boy can sing anything! A very well-rounded performer. Simon is an idiot.

Didn't care for Jason or Brooke, either one of them can go home tonight.

I've never liked Syesha and have been wanting her to go home for weeks, but she did really well with her song last night. She'd do well with a Broadway career.

Loved Carly last night too, David A. - not so much.

Like last week I was ready to cringe at every turn, but it wasn't so bad! Some highlights and some lowlights as usual.

Syesha: I didn't get the praise heaped on her by the judges. there were some MIGHTY off parts of the song (like her missing the intro and being off beat for a LOT of the song). Her performance (from an acting POV0 was pretty good. I think she's a good singer in general but not for this show. She could very well have a future on the great white way.

Jason: This was just inexcusibly awful. I'm sick of getting the feeling from him that he isn't taking the show seriously. It was an embarassment to him. By far his worst performance (though michelle My Bell was ghastly too) and I think he may be getting the boot.

Brooke: WHERE was the ripping of orifices for the false start??? WHY won't the judges tear her a new one for nonsense like that?? TWICE now she's done it. It's inexcusable. What if it had been a minute into her song? Would she have stopped and started over then too? This is ridiculous. She's losing her grip and it's affecting her performances. I didn't like anything about her song or choice and really have lost respect for her as an "artist". Oddly, she had NO snippy retort to the judges this week as she has in every other critique. Also, you KNOW you had a bad week when Paula is struggling to find something nice to say.

David A: He managed to contemporize a song written and sung by the Diva! So yeah he did pretty good. Like Simon said though, the song itsef and the performacne ar forgettable, though he was MILES...nay...lightyears better than those preceeding them. You could see him trying to keep his eyes open the whole time and thankfully, the lip licking seems to have completely vanished.

Carly: PERFECT song for her. I can see her fronting a band. She did get shouty at times, but a wonderful performance for her. I was happy to see her having fun last night instead of looking so brooding.

David C: I didn't have high hopes for my man tonight, and I am ashamed for that. he was breathtaking. What can't he sing?? Honestly...I cried. It was so beautiful. I NEVER cry during contestants songs. It was embarassing for me! I said to DH (who doesn't give a hoot about Idol but was listening from the other room), "David was good tonight", to which he answered "No, he was outstanding." THIS, from a man who hates musical theatre more than Idol! Ladies and gentleman...I give you the winner fo American Idol (as far as I am concernced).


PS...thank God ALW night came now instead of earlier. Could ou imagine Chikezie or Amanda singing last night??
