American Idol Season 9

Next week, 8 get eliminated. The one with the highest score becomes the AI. The season will end and we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

I am a HUGE Adam fan , but I don't really understand the mentor thing either. He didn't even win the show. :confused3

Hopefully he'll teach them how to stop being so B...O...R...I...N...G! I tried several times to stay awake thru the show and never did! I finally just gave up and watched the results show on fast-forward. Even then I dozed off....

Yeah but bringing back the actual winner of his season would do nothing but reinforce the boringness.;)

For those that care Adam will be doing an "Unplugged" on VH1 airing tomorrow at 11pm. Personally, I can't wait! May even stay up that late to watch live instead of DVR.

And the using the save on Mike? :lmao: This crap gets worse every week!

....that was just HORRID! Well, at least it goes with this season's theme: SUCKY....

I fast forward through most performances, since I'm not into today's pop sound, but could her guitar have had a wireless connection? Just trying to give her the benefit of the doubt?

Now Tim AND Andrew can go bye-bye next week.

Sure hope it's Tim and what's the name of that teenaged girl? She's the weakest link, goodbye. Yeah, her 'let it be' was decent but NOT anywhere close to Crystal, Mike or the guy with the good hair. Please don't mock me for not knowing their names, I record it and ff through the painful performances and all the frufru chit chat. Who has 3 hours a week for any TV show? Pas moi!

Tim is shocked at himself evey week that he makes it through. If he becomes the American Idol, he will probably demand a recount!

He's, at best, a high school musical performer. If he's made AI, I will be ticked off!

Next week, American Idol’s extra-special theme will not only feature Adam Lambert as mentor, but also Cirque du Soleil’s new Las Vegas production Viva Elvis.
This has been rumored since last night’s show, but I’ve confirmed it with someone involved with the show. Looks like Adam Lambert will be heading to Las Vegas upon leaving British Columbia on Saturday morning.
Check back for updates!

I just finished watching the Tuesday nite's show (I'd recorded it, but I knew Mike got low votes). OMG! After watching the performances I can't believe he got the fewest votes. Did he REALLY? If so, I gotta start voting! Normally, I don't vote until it's down to the final 4 or 5, but this is ridiculous. Either that or I just have no ear for musical talent (quite possible).

This should not be a shock to anyone here... :confused3

‘American Idol’ Ratings Hit a Low Mark

By BILL CARTER; Compiled by DAVE ITZKOFF

Published: April 7, 2010

The chops-licking over the declining performance of Fox’s “American Idol” may grow more intense in the wake of the Tuesday night ratings for that perennial powerhouse. Fewer people watched “Idol” on Tuesday (when the contestant Crystal Bowersox performed with the didgeridoo player Ernie Fields, both left) than watched ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” on Monday. (“Dancing” runs performance episodes on Mondays, with results on Tuesdays; “Idol” generally has performance on Tuesdays with results on Wednesdays.) And for a second consecutive week, in the category Fox cares most about — viewers between the ages of 18 and 49 — “Idol,” if the Tuesday overnight ratings hold, will post its lowest number ever for a two-hour edition of the show. It will also be the lowest-rated Tuesday edition of the show since an hourlong episode on Aug. 13, 2002, in its first season, when the series played in the summer. “Idol” had a total audience of about 20.4 million on Tuesday, below the 21.2 million that “Dancing” averaged for its performance show on Monday. (The “Dancing” results on Tuesday averaged a total audience of 12.3 million.) But the “Idol” 7.1 rating among viewers 18 to 49 is what will be most noticed. That is down from a 7.7 a week ago and down from the 8.1 the show averaged for the three previous weeks. Of course, “Idol” is still the dominant show on television with those younger adults advertisers love. And the success of “Dancing” has to be tempered by its skew toward older viewers. This week’s “Dancing” results episode, when the astronaut Buzz Aldrin was blasted off the show, faced the “Idol” performance on Tuesday night and scored a modest 2.4 rating in the 18 to 49 group. More tellingly, almost 70 percent of its audience was over 50.

No WONDER they're doing desparate ploys! :lmao:

can't wait till tomorrow for Vampire Diaries....Stefan gets kidnapped and beaten shirtless (that's SHIRTLESS, btw...I know it doesn't sound right with the phrase lol).....and I'm excited as anything for it!

Sounds kinky....

Sounds like that scene in Galaxy Quest where Alexander looks at Taggert and comments on how he managed to get his shirt off... yet again....

I can't stand Adam Lambert, maybe he won't talk just stand there and smile. . I don't understand, they had miley as a mentor she has a few albums out and has done well. Adam hasn't really did much of anything, How in the world can he be a mentor??? I think AI is deseperate for mentor this season.

I know when I saw the final three I knew they were going to use the save, I hate when they get rid of two.

I have nothing against Adam unless he starts screaming lyrics....

Crap. Not another night of severe storms and tornadoes.... thankfully not here yet.... But north of here.

It's what TPTB decide in that smoke filled room of PR and ratings boosting drama ideas. :rolleyes1

The whole system is full of it and I'm soooo through. :sad2:

Robin this is no different than any other year..there is always manufactured drama and garbage. This year is is more obvious but maybe it's because we are all getting so used to it that we pick it up quicker and see it for what it is.

I think that the worst reaction I ever saw was when Daughtry got voted off...his face was priceless and they had the camera close up on him too.

I don't see this years talking about Mike and his baby etc any worse than parading Fantasia's little girl up to the stage for a kiss from Mommy..while mommy had tears in her eyes. This show is the master at trying to manipulate votes.

I still always remember what it is above all us....a reality TV show that is scripted and the singers are all willing pawns in the game. They are just willing to play the game to try and get their big break.

....well, since many of the contestants play the guitar, I still stand behind my suggestion.....

...I'm sure they can help with FASHION TIPS too...:rolleyes1

More like the SHOW would demand a recount. They'd be complaining of hanging chads or something....
