I think that Randy isn't really not technical enough. Randy always says things to the contestants like "That was HAWT!" when he should say "your breath control was good so you were able to sustain your notes plus you clearly understand the lyrics, a great performance!" or he always spouts stock phrases like "that was kinda pitchy" when he should say "you ran out of breath so you weren't able to sustain some of the notes"...he's so inarticulate, he's opaque. He doesn't seem to know actually WHY a song works or it doesn't and seems incapable of helping the contestants improve, he just says the same things over and over again.
I think Kara's kind of mad that she's never had the public attention as a performer that the AI contestants get. She seems to come *at* the contestants, *especially* the girls.
And she calls the girls "sweetie" when she wants to talk down to them.
Simon's the only previous judge that has an opinion AND is able to articulate it clearly to the contestants, people think that he's harsh but he actually gives the contestants criticism that they can use to improve.
