American Idol Season 9 Thread Top 5

That's odd. On the show he talked about being from St. Pete a lot. He said where he lives now tried hard to get him to call them his hometown, he's in Astoria, NY. But he definitely grew up in St. Pete. Just about every teacher that taught him, he worked with, or his mother-in-law currently works with was out in full force today.

Robin - he actually talked about living in New York and how surprised he was when he first got there at how rude everyone is. Though if he's ever met any Yankees fan (kimmar), I don't know how he'd be surprised.

Note from NY: St Pete, you can HAVE HIM. Bad enough we have Constantine... :scared1:

I remember coming to the South and being shocked at how NICE everyone was. Then I realized that the nice was phony and I missed the rudeness because at least it was honest.

Sigh, I miss rude.... :cloud9:

AMEN!! At least when we New Yorkers don't like you, we tell you right to your face :lmao:

I'm Southern and I will tell you to your face, no problem. Not ALL Southern niceness is fake, and not ALL NY rudeness is intentional, at least in my experience. Just different customs I guess. ;)

One of my favorite "Designing Women" lines ever was from Julia:

"Down here in the South we don't hide our crazy people away in the attic, we bring 'em right down into the living room to show 'em off"

Ya'll have a great day now, ya hear? :thumbsup2
