I'm not touchy, I was just saying I don't care how they look. If you had the ugliest person in the world and he/she was just an ounce better than the most beautiful, I'd vote for the ugliest.

Tonight was not great but it is the first night and you know nerves had to be bad. Hopefully they can put this behind them and perform better next week.

I put in a vote for a few I would at least like to hear next week although it was not too hard to get a vote in for any of them. I voted for Chris R., Nick, Blake, Chris S. and Phil. I really hope Sundance is one of the ones to go - he sounded so bad and I really just don't like him at all. I really don't care which of the others goes with him.

I thought Brandon was awful. Cheesy, cheesy, cheesy. From his deliberately half-tucked in shirt to his big fake smile, and always knowing right where the camera was. Ugh. Fake, cheesy and lame. And I have to admit, all Michael Jackson songs are completely tainted for me because I don't want Jackson earning any more royalty money to pay off the parents of the children he molests.

But anyway....

Blake was the best of the guys, Chris Sligh was right about Simon's horrible taste as a producer but it was too soon to be that sarcastic to the judges.

Half those guys are only there because, I think, the judges wanted people that were sure to lose to their favorite (which is either Blake or Brandon).

Phil was not nearly as good as they said he was. And I really find him unpleasant to look at. Not that I am particularly gorgeous myself, but then I am not going on TV for all the world to see and judge me, either.

Looks like Nick Pedro and Paul Kim are going home according to DialIdol. Phil, Chris, and Blake being the top 3.

Man that will be a bummer as I love Robin, Lil Irish, Ducklite, and a few others commentaries. I usually agree with Robin the most though sorry. Including tonight. Blake was good and Chris S. the rest I could care less who goes home. I hope the girls do better.

How can there be spoilers for a live show? DialIdol is an estimate, but it isn't the definitive word on the subject.

I agree that commenting on performances during the show is perfectly acceptable but DialIdol is very accurate (I followed it closely last season). DialIdol is more than estimate, it's an actual tracking program.

Out of respect for other posters, I think DialIdol predictions should be colored in white with a spoiler warning.

A few stood out but I'm not sure who I will vote for. I could do without Paul (was he the one without shoes?) and I just don't like Chris S. for some reason. Simon was quite harsh tonight wasn't he?

Blake: Bad song choice, poor performance.
Jared Cotter: He picked an awesome song, but did an average song.

Phil: The best this night, but last year this would have been near the bottom.

Top 3: Phil, Paul, Sundance/Jared (tie)
Bottom 3: Nick, Rudy, Blake

This is why this show is so great. I LOVED Blake's song choice. I think he did a decent job...not great....decent. AGAIN LOVED the song choice.

Jared....hated the song as I am totally not a fan of R&B at all. Agree with your assesment of Jared.

What makes it great is that your top 3 is almost my bottom 3 and your bottom 3 is almost my top 3.

IMO, Sundance and Paul Kim should go home. Hopefully....if Paul does by chance make it through (Rudy), please please please put the shoes back on. I agree with Simon in that it's kind of stupid what he's doing.

the last few years it has tended to be a spoiler thread...especially since a lot of us post as the shows are in progress and we post as people are voted off. DialIdol was off on some last year, I usually take it with a grain of salt.

exactly. it IS part of being the Idol. if they put the show on the radio, maybe things would be different. they put it on TV for a reason.

DialIdol is NOT something that is correct every time. last season that site was wrong half the time. don't forget people can text message too. it doesn't count those votes either.

The only problems with that is when someone quotes one of those white on white types it shows up in the quote box. Not sure if this thread can be entirely spoiler free as the season goes on. Right now it shouldn't be a problem but as more and more posters join in it gets hard to control that. I know I've posted on the Idol threads since at least the Fantasia season and it's always turned into a spoiler at some point.

Brandon: Wondering what all of the fuss is about. He bored me.
Sundance: I don't know why he is still here. He tanked in Hollywood and he tanked again tonight.
Paul Kim: This dude sucked and he needs to put some shoes on his nasty feet.
Chris Richardson: I have been calling him a Justin Wannabe since I first saw him but tonight, I kind of liked him.
Nick Pedro: I actually really like this guy. He just seems so sweet. I'd like to see him go one more round.
Blake: I love this guy. I'm not really the beatbox type, but he is very entertaining.
Sanjaya: This kid just annoys the crap out of me for some reason. Get a haircut and go back to school.
Chris Sligh: I like him for his humor, but I don't think he is the best singer. I agree that it's a bit early to tick off Simon. But, Simon was acting like a ninny.
Jared Cotter: I enjoyed him. Nothing too wonderful, but compared to the other snoozefests, he was a nice surprise.
AJ: I don't like this guy. He is a bit too fabulous, showey and over the top for me.
Phil: I enjoy this guys singing, but he isn't really easy to look at. Please wear the hat more often.

Honestly, this thread is going to have spoilers on it. But, like others have said, if folks try to put possible spoilers in white (song spoilers/DialIdol results), the rest of us can just discuss them in a roundabout way.

Personally, I like the spoilers on this thread...
