are the Hollywood shows taped? If so then that robyn girl was booted off befroe the Grammy show so it wouldn't have violated an y A1 agreements. I think the only live shows are when it gets down to us common folks voting.

Tonight will be the FIRST full show I get to watch this season...I can't wait!

I loved the four guys last night. That beat box was genius in the middle of the song. They really made everyone else look VERY amatuerish...they not only did the song without forgetting the words, but they "made it their own!" I agree, they sounded like they could have been a group last night. Can't wait to see more of them!

The biggest surprise for me were seeing that Matt Buckstein, the cowboy from last year, did get to Hollywood again. He left me shaking my head after the finale show last year and wondering why he didn't make it further. Unfortunately, IF the spoiler threads are correct,

I thought that Robyn chick sang average at best during the Grammy's. We both thought she was much ado about nothing.

I am THRILLED that Sanjaya made it this far. I knew he was better than his sister but I was sort of hoping they'd squeeze into the top 12 together just for the drama. I was so touched watching him WEEP because his sis didn't make it. She kept saying "it's all right Sanjaya!"...so touching!

Chris Sligh is looking like it's his show to lose at this point. I LOVED his whole group.

I was also happy that the Asian guy (the cutie) made it through.

I just re-watched his audition on youtube and I forgot about his funny sense of humor! He wants to make David Hasselholf cry!

If he lets his personality shine and with that voice of his, I think he'll make it all the way to the finals, if not win this whole thing.

I'm so excited - I scored some AI tickets! All we had to do was attend a taping of that new game show "Are You Smarter Then a Fifth Grader" - which is a pretty funny show, by the way - and we got free tickets! AI tickets are very hard to come by, the wait list is a couple of seasons long. We got them last year after being on the list forever, for the dress rehearsal. It's a blast, and you can see their performances before the live taping, and interact with the contestants. I don't know which taping I get to go to, they'll let us know really soon. I hope it's when they're in the top 10!

While at the taping, we met a girl who made it to Hollywood, but didn't make it through. She sang for us, and she could sing but I could see why she probably didn't make it. It was her second time auditioning for AI.

OMG! I was eating a bowl of cereal watching that last night, and I was choking back crying!
(almost literally, because of the food in my mouth) It was so touching how the whole room was celebrating, and he immediately left to go find his sister.

I wonder if he makes it to the top 24, the never showed him singing at all last night. I got a quick glimpse of him on stage with his groyp, but never heard him sing.

I am missing so many singers. Where is Gorgeous Black Guy Who is Only Sixteen?

I don't think she was great, but I wished she would have stayed longer than the "best friend" that was flirting with the guys.

All worked out in the end though as "the flirt" went home also.

Oh, yes, it goes without saying that I couldn't stand Ms. Flirty friend. I haven't liked her since her first audition. Dh and I both think she is the type that would have turned on her friend in a second. I think her getting booted off is probably the best thing that could have happened to the other friend as far as the competition goes. I'm not sure, at this point, if I like the other girl yet or not either. She seems a bit nicer though. Guess time will tell.

my official favorites now are Sanjaya & Chris Sligh. I also am fond of beat box boy Blake, although he's a little silly I am actually glad we won't be seeing anymore of Bailey Pickler--I mean, Brown--do we HAVE to have a blonde country gal every season?
Am sad to see Sean Michel go - I wish they had shown his performance. So disappointing!!!
I agree with whoever said that this is going to be the year of the guys, so far I haven't seen a unique voice among the girls. I'll be happy once we reach the top 24 and start getting to know each contestant a little better.

You really have to assume that this thread will and does have spoilers in it. It has for the past two seasons.

Yep, always has spoilers, sometimes they were dead on, sometimes way off. Plus we have lots of real time commentary when the show is on.

Where's the AA woman that was a back up singer? She came to the audition so unsure of herself and then BELTED out a song and sounded amazing. I saw a very brief glimpse of her yesterday - but that was it - I really hope she did make it - I want to hear more from her
