Okay I have a friend who auditioned first time she didn't have any props or anything but has a good voice and didn't get through to this part. This year auditioned she had a stuff cow and got through to the judges. They look for those who stand out it seems.

I know exactly 2 people who ever auditioned for AI...the same season, as a matter of fact. They both got through, but got eliminated in Hollywood. Neither sang for Simon, Randy, and Paula in their original auditions, and neither one was ever shown on TV a single time. They didn't have any props or gimmicks, just good singing voices. I kind of think the producers all have a ton to do with who makes it through. Standing out gets you on TV, and thus you are pretty much more "out there" to the producers. This in turn must lead to them swaying The Big Trio's decisions.

Scarier is the fact that she claims to have a degree in vocal performance? And has had years of vocal training? Eek!!!

I would not vote tonights episode "on to Hollywood".

Think they're putting too much emphasis on finding the truly bad acts.....judges are too self-aware of the cameras.....all seems to "put on" to me...

Are there that many masochists in Minnesota? Seattle looks like it will be even worse.

I think we're seeing FOX trying to boost early ratings by not only showing the utter nutcases but probably encouraging them, too.

Safe to say there wasn't a whole lotta talent in Minneapolis.

I think the best bets were Sarah with the long curly hair and Perla the Shakira Wannabe.

Was it only me--or the one chick they showed prior to the opening credits (last girl before the show actually started with the crying girl)....

Did she sound like she was auditioning for a porn flick?????


And I did not believe for one minute that the urban amish dude had no idea about American Idol. Either that or God seriously gave him a heads up before singing that wretched song.

Loved the 16 year old.....thought the Navy guy was decent (at least he had won a contest prior to coming on and had a voice to somewhat back that up).

Tomorrow looks like Revenge of the Nerds....Idol style. Like they brought some of the Tri-lams from Adams College.

17 out of 10,000 for Minneapolis. YIKES!

Yes! When I saw the snippet preview of her I thought that's who she was imitating.


I liked the Shakira wannabe. She was really outgoing, optimistic, and spunky.

Loved the Shakira wanna be. The lion chick made me go "Huh?"

The urban Amish guy I was like "Oh god make it stop m ake it stop!"

Cannot BELIEVE that one guy..the cowboy with no front teeth..butchered "Folsom Prison". I was like "I'm sorry. Who pushed your buzzer and told you you were good?"

Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. It can't possibly get any worse.

Oh wait. I did see the preview of tomorrow night's show. Yes it can.
